The Saga of The Charming Albino

Thank yawl.

Z-man, I got the pitchur from youtube. It’ll give you 3 different stills from your vid and I found that I could copy and paste it in to the profile.

I was NOT happy with the zercher lift but in retrospect it’s still a higher weight than I’ve done in the past from that height. It also makes me think that I need to alternate lighter rep days with heavy days on lower body. Inch by inch I’m beginning to approach Meat’s program again as I make modifications to “my” programming.

Ditching the metcon work since I went to the park with my son today. The park has this 30-foot high rope lattice that the kids climb on (and me) so I spent half an hour just monkeying around on it with him (pun intended). Quite a workout and good practice for getting over my fear of heights.

I’m frightened by clowns as well.

And hairbrushes.

Did I mention tax collectors?

So…

We got this snazzy new Tempurpedic bed from some friends who didn’t need it anymore, because my wife has trouble sleeping on a hard mattress, doesn’t breathe well and wakes up in intense pain. The T-mat seems to take care of those things pretty well.

But I can’t sleep on the danged thing. I mean, I sleep great on it, but I can’t get out of it in the morning. My lower back tightens up overnight to such an extent that the pain on rising is ridiculous, like I borrowed 5 peoples’ lower back troubles or something. Takes an hour to go away.

If I sleep on the couch (firm) or on the floor (very firm), I’m good to go almost as soon as I wake up. Hell - I’m starting to think cinderblocks and a welcome mat might make an excellent sleeping platform for me.

Anybody else experience this?

Yep, I couldnt sleep on our Tempurpedic worth a crap. I suffered for 8 years. We bought a new bedroom suite and a firm pillow top mattress from Bassett. I can’t get to sleep worth 2 shits, but my back doesnt hurt a bit.

Did you try a piece of plywood under your side? It helped me a little bit. Still had my days.

we bought a latex matress- natural foam latex its great.
JW 's plywood tip might help out when I sleep in a soft bed
my lower back is tight too.

DCA… just buy a latex body suit and stick a 2x4 down your pants and then go to bed… cheaper and you would kill 2 birds with one stone :))))

That’d be fine except that I’d knock myself out every time I got up to walk to the bathroom. My ass looks like two strange cats in a sack these days…

come on back…don’t be skeeered:)

I’m not skeered. I just have an overactive tinker gene. There’s nothing so good that comes to me that I don’t have to piss in it a bit to make it taste better.

So to speak.

Nice pushin’ and pullin’ over here, Albino dude.

That is some big time pressing and pulling DCA.

I’m considering adding low rack pulls into my rotation in addition to my top of the kneecap ones.

DCA
you are looking strong, nice work

Looks like that program is working for you DCA, PR’s are falling left and right.

You fellas are sweet.

Barkeep! Strippers for everybody! Put it on my tab. What? Okay, put it on SteelyD’s tab, then.

3rd cycle’s going to tell me if I’ll survive. My low back is purely tuckered out and I have to make some modifications to reduce lower body intensity for a couple of training day in the cycle. kmc gets his wish and unilateral work is coming into the program.

Blew off met-con today.

Weight’s been holding at 190, despite this being a crazy week for eating. Never know when I’m going to get a meal, so I’ve been downing the protein shakes and quarts of kefir whenever I’m near a source of either. getting a nice roll of fat across my lower back, a sign that I’m getting surplus calories and a badge of honor for me.

Got a good meal of baby back ribs tonight and I still have a protein shake on the schedule.

Good job DCA. I have some excess I’d give you… Of course if you get a diet of shrimp and grits, pasta pruscuitto ham and artichokes, veal chops and garlic mashed potatos and a bunch of red wine you can get a JW belly fast… Oh and I forgot about the 4 sausage egg and cheese sandwhiches for breakfast…

Those PR’s are coming down fast.

225x3
245x2 (I had a third in me but was saving myself)
265x0
260x0
255x0

Looks like I found my new weakness. thought that might happen with my concentration on close gripped stuff the last few weeks. 3 from the chest @245 would have been a BIG PR for me. Wish I hadn’t saved it.

Front SKWaat from pins (below parallel)
135x3
185x2
225x2
245x1 (Baseline PR)
205x5

These are very hard. Any place the body can try and wiggle out, it will do so.

Pendlay Rows to chest with bench grip.
185x5
225x3
245x5

Taking it easy on the back. Still growing from chins 2 days ago.

Tha’s all baby. Good session, got some work in today that’ll pay off later.

Looks like good training. how long does a session like that take?

Depends on whether I do one single or three on the top weight. About an hour to 2 hours. I take very long rests. Today’s took an hour.

PR Calories

1 quart Kefir - 740
Sushi Box - prob 200
1/2 Safeway Deli Pizza - 330
1 protein shake with peanut butter, whole milk and coconut oil - 1500+
1 protein shake with whole milk only - 1079

3800+ calories.

And there’s still some baby back ribs in the fridge…

Crazy music camp week is over and I’ll have time for real home-made food now.
