My right knee is making the most alarming stretching fabric sounds - and I know it’s not my sweats because I don’t crap with my pants up…usually.
Anybody else ever get that? An know what it means? Doesn’t hurt, but it’s feeling funny.
I had something similar a while back whenever I went down stairs. It just started happening one day, was there for a week, and then went away just as mysteriously. No idea what it was, but it wasn’t painful at all.

Been antsy all day. My days off from lifting I find myself thinking about lifting and wanting to lift and having to stop myself from lifting.
So I think the volume is just about right…
x2.
It’s like driving a car with some horsepower down a highway that you know is load with cops. You just want to open it up, but it’s really in your best interest to go slow through that stretch…
re: disturbing bodily noises – When I did my ART sessions, on a couple movements the doc actually said “This is going to be a noisy one”. I presume from that some things just make noise. Maybe just air/gas pockets in there for some reason. Don’t know.
As I get older, I just think of it as ‘background noise’.

I was thinking that’s a lot of weight for a deload, but I didn’t translate to my weights. I’ll have to go a lot lighter.
By “very strict” are we talking Nate Green level of strictness?
Good work.
Not quite that strict. I can only get 7 bodyweight pullups that way.
I’m going a bit heavier than recommended for deload. I work up to 70% and then go for reps just shy of failure. Might not be smart, but I feel like I’m doing something. And it doesn’t seem to be hurting at all.
This deload - as much as I needed it - getting to be difficult to handle. I originally thought I’d only do two training days of deload, but after the first day decided to do the full wave. But I’m getting antsier and antsier, keep wanting to jump the gun and just start in on the “real” weights again.
Take full advantage of your deload, get your fire back and kill some weights.
Deloads are tough. i guess. I’ve never had one. In the past when i get beat up, I took a week off. Those times I was so beat I didn’t even want to go to the gym. This bit about going to the gym and not working very hard will be different. on the other hand, like what you mentioned on some of the other threads, I always want to lift, now.
On the other hand, being a former Marine, I am very very good at the blind obedience thing, so I will do the sets and reps as commanded, and go very easy on the accessories as commanded. Then, Ill get to see what the rest does for me when I go back at it for the “5” week on wave 2.
if you are in a hurry, you might want to consider getting your training sessions a little closer together, as in doing 4 sessions per week instead of 3. That should finish your deload fast, while preserving the recovery aspect of the light workouts.
Good idea on the deload, MJ. Depending on what day I finish my cycle (esp. Monday, maybe Wednesday), I might make it a somewhat shorter deload, and then start the next wave on a Monday again.
MJ, I’m just getting antsy cuz I’m feeling so good. I’m going to take the full deload with my little modification (not taking the full weekend off) and then go back the real weights. I’ve been going hard since, what, last November? A few light days can only do me good.

That’s for sure! the times when I have taken recovery weeks, I think it hurt me a little that I didnt do some deload training. I probably would have recovered faster if I had done some work with light weights and got some blood to the battered areas.
BTW, were you able to use that 5/3/1 spreadsheet I made? It works great for me, Im just curious if its usable for other folks.

Definitely usable, MJ. Thanks. I’m modifying it very slightly, but it saved me a lot of time! The auto rounding (and the weight calculations in general) are great.
Deload and blind obediance, those are terms I might need to brush up on.
I never am slick enough to program a deload,
usually I will just not train fri sat sun or something like that.
I do like that term blind obediance-
thank you.
we practice that at work its very crucial to
some of the film/TV types that they want directoins carried out to the letter.
You are showing strong restraint having a deload with a brand new power rack
