That, my friend, is called schadenfreude!
Perhaps. I would say it is justice based schadenfreude, as I am only interested in bad things happening to those who are bad people.
Do most people not want bad things to happen to bad people? Schadenfreude can be seen as a mental disorder, but I think that most people want bad outcomes for those that deserve it. Maybe not? Am I weird in this regard? Always thought it was normal.
I dunno about that… Schadenfreude to me happiness at someone else’s downfall. Which is not mutually exclusive to justice either!
I was just busting chops
I just did a Google search on it. It is only considered a disorder in extreme cases. I think I’m in the clear.
That’s a joke right? Right?
Good gravy
Biden/CornPop 2020!
I’m in. CornPop can’t be any worse on pandemic planning.
Also, I’d like to see Justin Amash throw his hat in the ring.
The guys on the floor can’t get enough of this. They’re mostly Christian conservatives who voted for Trump and do all kinds of good things for their families and communities. True deplorables, if there ever were any.
Amash is in.
By far the best “name” candidate. Zero chance. If someone feels compelled to cast a vote but would rather not vote, he’s a great choice.
Amash…
Isn’t he too Liberterian for your taste?
You mean “Looneytarian.”
On paper, yes. But he’s smart and pragmatic, and I’m glad he’s in the race. I also want to see an option for people who are principled in belief in limited government, etc.
And I’m not really anti-libertarian per se. I’m anti-a certain kind of libertarian - the dumb kind that doesn’t live in reality that thinks everything the government does is stupid or evil.
But come on that’s such an easy way to think. Government always bad. Business always good. Privatize everything presto utopia for all.
That’s why it’s so appealing to people stuck in perpetual adolescence.
I think Amash in the race will also bring a clarity on things for the Right (or what’s left of it) - think if he makes the debate stage and gets a chance to paint in libertarian strokes and contrast himself from Trump. What garden variety conservative would actually prefer Trump to a walking, talking limited government, free market guy they would have begged for in 2008 or 2012?
2020 is Mark Cuban’s for the taking.
Not me, that’s for sure. Go smash Amash!
Does that apply to anyone? Do you know of libertarians opposed to, say, protecting people’s rights? There is a difference between government(and governance) and the State.
He is way more conservative voting than the underinformed might suspect. Like 10th in Congress on Conservative Review.
I will say once again, waiting until a few months before the largest election, is no way to ever get a legitimate 3rd party into anything other than protest/spoiler role.
That effort should start the day after elections, with an eye to dog catcher or County precinct. And then grow from there.
