He’s just rooting out the deep state. Anything or anyone that could potentially share bad news will be eliminated. And this isn’t new behavior from him. And it isn’t remotely concerning to his supporters. What he does is correct. No matter what.

IMO, supporting a person with awful character, while believing that his characteristics are terrible is at least cognitive dissonance. Maybe not hypocritical, but you are holding and talking about two ideas that are in conflict with each other.
