No. Neither are qualified to name viruses.
Indeed. There’s a difference between the public speeches and the behind the scenes action. While the public face of the crisis may benefit from easing into it, that is exactly the wrong approach for a pandemic when it comes to physical action.
We needed to take the test kits from the WHO, test people aggressively coming in from the country, and lock down hard on contact traces history tracing, etc.
Instead we effectively twiddled our thumbs for 8 weeks.
I read these stories how Trump refused to listen to people advising him but I’m thinking why did they even bother. They should have just gone ahead with doing what was right and let him carry on with watching Hannity, playing golf and eating fast food.
I am with @zecarlo in saying that even Trump can’t be completely blamed for this one
Agreed. There have been regular and serious warnings about this sort of scenario for more than 10 years. In fact right before the actual epidemic hit, there was a modeling scenario with health security people (sort of like war games for public health) and conference on what we should do in a scenario like this… Funny huh?
Administrations going back at least through GWB have more or less played down the pandemic concern. Probably because it was viewed as less important than 9/11, and I cannot blame them necessarily for that one. Pandemics also operate on a time scale that is far removed from a typical politicians term of office, re-election concerns.
That’s not really my beef with Trump, considering that the same is true of past administrations and most politicians.
Cuomo is a piece of shit that absolutely loves this situation on a personal level. I’ve had to live under his dictate for the past 10 years. Believe me, his directives are less driven by medical realities and more about flexing his power while stroking his ego in the limelight as long as possible. He will prolong this and at the end blame everyone else for his actions. True progressive.
I really doubt Cuomo loves this on any level. He has family that are at risk.
The mayor of NYC is blaming everyone and calling out the president but Cuomo has praised the federal government and seems to have a better working relationship with it. It doesn’t hurt that the Cuomo Trump relationship started with their fathers.

Wow, @Alrightmiami19c…
Sounds exactly like the Twitter-In-Chief to me.
He and Trump should get along fine…if their egos could fit in the same space…
I was expecting this comment from Ze. Does it always have to be about Trump? Can we just talk about something or in this case someone without it coming back to Trump? It’s so lazy and boring.
Im not trying to piss in your cereal Mufasa. I know you’re pretty consistent and reasonable from years of posting in PWI. More directed at media/public.
Are you high? Did I say something negative about Trump? I stated a fact about Trump and Cuomo. Mario Cuomo was Fred Trump’s lawyer at one point. The thing that you don’t understand is that Trump is the president. So it’s not about talking about Trump for the sake of talking about Trump but talking about the president who happens to be Trump.
…Does it always have to be about Trump?..
Trump thinks so.
My apologies, @Alrightmiami19c (and thanks for the compliment).
(By the way…this is the “Push to 2020” (Election) thread).
Trump either continuously makes it about himself…or tweets/says something that completely places the Focus on himself.
Case in point: An NBC reporter ask Trump a pretty softball question…one along the lines of “What can you say to the Americans who are afraid and anxious to calm their fears?” (paraphrasing).
Trump rips him, his Network and his parent company a big one like he made a “Trump…your Momma so ugly…” comment.
He does this type of thing time and time again…
What’s funny is that both of us agreed Trump shouldn’t be getting all the blame. You say something positive about Trump and his cultists still get upset. It’s their default mode.
That’s fair. I watched a Rogan podcast the other day where the guest equated Trump to smoking. You get a great drug that has a ton of positive effects, but in a terrible delivery system that causes complications. Policy wise he’s pretty good. Deregulation, tax cuts, judicial picks, foreign affairs all good. But he says stupid stuff and pisses people off.
If thats directed at me, im an idealogue. I don’t put my faith in men. Didnt vote for Trump and am certainly not a cultist.
Like one of those long skinny brown cigs my granny smoked
…foreign affairs…
With the exception of allies, of course.
The world doesn’t conform to ideas.
Who are you voting for in 2020 presidential election and why?
I am still contemplating not voting at all.
Trump rips him, his Network and his parent company a big one like he made a “Trump…your Momma so ugly…” comment.
These press conferences have been the highlight of my days working from home:
You’re a terrible reporter.
Because it came from CHINA
I think we should space you out more. Maybe only have 2 or 3 of you that I like in here.
It’s entertainment gold.
