The Push to 2020 Has Begun!

I’m pretty sure that’s an area that @Alrightmiami19c is talking about.
“It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliance with any portion of the foreign world”
-George Washington
“Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations-entangling alliances with none.”
-Thomas Jefferson

Because people I detest hate him, and no one I like more(e.g., Rand Paul, Thomas Massie) has any chance of winning.

LOL!

You forgot to add the emphasis, @doogie

…CHIN-NAaaaaa…!

Yep. At a time we need an adult we have this type of shit. Essentially a softball question could have easily been answered. And he throws a little hissy fit.

Great men…Love 'em both and have studied them both.

There is no way they could have anticipated how intertwined, interdependent and a few missteps from utter destruction the World would become…or World Wars and conflicts that killed billions…or that the World as we know it could be destroyed with the touch of a button.

10 characteristics of a good leader:

Integrity
Ability to delegate
Communication
Self-Awareness
Gratitude
Learning agility
Influence
Courage
Respect
Empathy

I guess I just don’t see Trump having any of these qualities. At least not in any type of capacity more than most average people. But we got an entertainer!

C’mon, @H_factor…give Trump a break!

You forgot “Dick-Waving”…

It’s your opinion that the world wars show that alliances are good? Agree to disagree.

Absolutely will agree to disagree.

No…simply that they are necessary “evils” in a very complex World…

Ask France and the UK if they were any good.

They couldn’t have foreseen an economy that was not based on agriculture or slave labor.

And there you have the reason for his irrelevant comments and attacks. Some people require diversion from reality.

I asked them, and they were unable to answer. They thought about the fact that they allied with Russia in their fights against Germany and then allied with Germany to fight Russia, then concluded that entangling alliances seemed to make no sense. But HitlerStalinStan.

You might want to refresh your knowledge of history.

Not Russia.

It was later West Germany that was part of NATO, not Germany as Germany did not exist.

But that isn’t the point. The point is that the UK still exists and exists because of alliances with other nations. So yeah, in the face of am ever more powerful enemy, Nazi Germany, the UK was better able to survive because of its alliances with countries like the US. France is not some vassal state because of its alliances with the UK and America.

A week later and I’m not feeling this at all. It seem like the opposite of what you predicted.

It seems like Pelosi is using this as a chance to push through a wishlist of crap that’s completely unrelated to the Coronavirus problem.

Why let a pandemic go to waste? There’s diversity quotas and green new deal crap that can be rammed through when people expect action, and you can count on the NYT to change their headlines to cover for you.

Truly we are all blessed to have Pelosis leadership.

Somebody defend these things being in the bill. I agree that there needs to be stringent controls on what companies can do with the money. No buying back stocks. No bonuses for executives. They proved they can’t be trusted after 2008. But to look at this disaster as an opportunity to push a leftist agenda is disgusting.

Pelosi is demanding while Americans suffer:

  1. Corporate pay statistics by race and race statistics for all corporate boards at companies receiving assistance.
  2. Bailing out all current debt of postal service
  3. Required early voting
  4. Required same day voter registration
  5. 10k bailout for student loans
  6. For companies accepting assistance, 1/3 of board members must be chosen by workers
  7. Provisions on official time for union collective bargaining
  8. Full offset of airline emissions by 2025
  9. Greenhouse gas statistics for individual flights
  10. Retirement plans for community newspaper employees
  11. $15 minimum wage at companies receiving assistance
  12. Permanent paid leave at companies receiving assistance

Companies asking for bailouts, a leftist policy, really shouldn’t complain about leftist agendas.

I’m not saying I necessarily agree with all of the Republican and Democratic provisions but, if these companies love capitalism and free markets so much then they shouldn’t ask for tax payer money. Or are they only fair weather capitalists?

I’m not a company. I’m a taxpayer. I’m the one complaining.
