The Push to 2020 Has Begun!

I remember the same tactic was tried in Alabama…and like Kansas…it failed BIG time…

And speaking of Kansas and the Midwest…it’s not just Farms, folks…

The next time you eat a burger, some pork or some chicken…the chances are it was processed by some little brown (many illegal) person in one of the huge Meat Processors (e.g. Armour, Purdue, etc.)

For levity sake.

“I’d get rid of arms so fast…”

Glad, I’m not the only one. Can’t get excited to discuss politics anymore because it so often becomes centered on Trump. He’s either the greatest or worst, depending on who is posting. Either way, yeah, he quickly shows up to suck the air out of a thread.

I think people conflate the idea of social programs, infrastructure and social safety nets as “we already have socialism!”.
No, you’ve crossed the mark when the state starts to take over private business, private ownership, mandates collectivism and most importantly, stifles free speech.

The trends we have seen at stifling speech are the most frightening trend towards socialism I have seen in this country. If we cede control to the milkshake throwing isn’t a crime, but “hate” speech is crowd, we’re in trouble.

Fortunately, I tend to think that most people hate PC culture, but, ironically are too afraid to say something about it.

It’s amazing to me how consumed people are about Trump on either side. One cannot have a level, sane conversation without a waterfall of ad hominems pouring over… It’s ridiculous. He’s done some bad things, but he’s also done some good things. One side, or the other will never admit what doesn’t fit their narrative.

And from the other side it’s inevitable that Hillary will get mentioned.

Yeah, it’s not like Ozzy had to deal with it 30 years ago.

I don’t get why people think something happening today never happened before.

Fixed that for you.

The same could be said, @pat, about the two-terms of President Obama.

Interesting.

Trump’s approval ratings, while still low, are going up.

Could it be that many American’s are looking at what the DEMS have to offer as an “alternative”…and are deciding "WTF…I’ll just to “go with the Devil I know!”

Or is something else going on?

He typically gets a bounce when he’s out of country or hasn’t shit the bed at major events (SOTU etc).

Trump is now sitting at close to the level he was elected at.

The question is whether he has ruined his chances so profoundly in suburban America that he loses.

So will it be a 2016, or a 2018. It’s anyones guess right now.

@Legalsteel…tell me what you think…

My thought is that it really doesn’t matter at this point what Trump does or doesn’t do…

Either the DEMS step up their game or it’s Trump for 4 more years…

There may be a lot of people who don’t like Trump…but the DEMS are not offering a lot of palatable alternatives…

Thoughts?

So, right now, we don’t know close to enough to know how weak Trump’s electoral chances are.

I think many successful attacks on Trump in 2016 (he’ll blow up the world, start a war etc) will all be probably weak.

Trump’s behavior is probably all baked in, and Mueller’s report will have helped him from the ‘Russia’ front.

The dems have a pretty weak field, and their best candidate for winning a national election (Biden) is bloodied and looking ready to bow.

That said, Trump has a narrow path to victory and, barring New Hampshire, Minnesota and Nevada, he doesn’t have a lot of room to expand.

On a balance of probabilities? I’d say the current dem field are weak tea and I’ll say Advantage Trump.

Edit: a LOT will depend on how willing people are willing to vote with their wallets. Trump’s personality is the key X-factor. Maybe he is too toxic to re-elect, but until I see rust belt polling, I have no earthly idea.

Also, I think he has advantage in Florida, Georgia, Iowa and Arizona.

The key places he needs to win are Wisconsin or Pennsylvania.

He has a decent shot of picking up New Hampshire, Nevada and Minnesota. I think Michigan may have been a blip.

God help me, I’ve made predictions again.

Exactly…

And the tough part…the part that comes when it is just down to Trump and the DEM nominee…hasn’t even happened yet!

I guarantee that the Conservative Machine is Locked and Loaded…ready to unleash Hell on whomever the nominee is. What are the DEMS going to do and say that we haven’t already seen from Trump?

And a humongous cash advantage too. What are they going to do? Try to repeat 2018 and avoid 2016. It’s anyone’s guess as to whether it’ll work.

@thunderbolt23 is right to say that a ‘return to normality’ campaign is, by far, the strongest strategy the Dems could wield.

Yet they seem to be dismantling the option, it is mind boggling.
