The Push to 2020 Has Begun!

This is a valid point to raise, but also remember that the reservations are typically on shit land. And there are other factors to bring into account. But yes, it MIGHT be just as bad. I don’t think this is something we can know for sure given all the complicating variables.

Let’s leave this one. The full conversation was posted and this particular one isn’t anywhere near as inappropriate as people want to believe (IF you read the full exchange).

Trump has said plenty of stupid things.

My disagreement really isn’t with you, but reflects my disappointment with the press that should be objective when reporting the news. Living in a country where the press is largely government censored, it makes it harder for me to argue for a free press when people keep bringing up the US media and stuff and how much chaos they perceive your country to be in.

I agree he says and tweets a whole lot of dumb shit. Hell, I even said in another thread that people who have lived under right wing authoritarian regimes can mistake some of his actions and words as those of a would-be dictator if we take them at face value.

It reflects the ICE stats IIRC(excluding children, of course). Everyone had committed an illegal act by crossing the border illegally. They had some drug dealers, some rape reports(which means unsubstantiated) and around 10% were granted political asylum amongst those detained.

Well, at least now I have an excuse to post a clip from Scarface featuring that wonderful soundtrack from Giorgio Moroder.

You’re spittin’ into the wind. Somebody in another thread just posted that Bush/the invasion of Iraq was not as bad as Trump killing hyooge amounts of people with his cavalier approach to The Covid. And, he got a “like” on that post…

Probably the ones that looked most European. I guarantee it. So racist.

Yes he did because Bush made a sincere mistake. I’m not going to apologize for that. There are many things that could have been done better in terms of response to this virus that we couldn’t have known at the time (both to preserve the economy and preserve life) because it was and is a giant real-time experiment where nobody knows the secret combination of best practices fully.

But - and this is the important part - Trump consistently tried to hand-wave this thing away in the early months. He had been told about and briefed many times, as he told Woodward, before he made those hand-waving tweets and pronouncements. I consider that knowingly, or in other words not sincere. He consistently postured, contradicted his SME’s, and made bad decisions. He continues to posture, even now.

Those are not equivalent mistakes in motive between GWB and Trump. I don’t blame Trump for every lost life because that would be incredibly stupid. Just as I consider many of the more extreme responses by opposite politicians wrong. But I consider that Trump consistently put out a message to not take this thing seriously via tweet and speech to millions of people to be malfeasance (however self interested, not malicious). You don’t need to tell the country to be scared of a virus in order to ask them to take it seriously. His refusal to lead had direct and avoidable costs in lives lost. Bush made a big mistake, but in the early years after the biggest terrorist attack on US soil. And at the time many people in both parties agreed with him.

Also, lest we forget, GWB put out a speech and started to build a serious response policy to future pandemics in the early 00s. He took it seriously.

I’m gonna add this:

The CCP isn’t just using the bad press in Western media against Trump and even exaggerating them for their internal viewers.

They’re ALSO keeping track of the (sometimes arguably)fake news the press writes and compiling them to justify having a State controlled press instead of complete “Western chaos, media lies and societal degradation”.

I’ve been saying this lots of times. The CCP isn’t stupid.

Not by a long shot.

GWB on Putin: I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straightforward and trustworthy,” But GWB regretted it later, so it’s fine, right?

GWB invaded Iraq because he wanted to one up Daddy -mission accomplished.

You people have lost your minds…Trump: Mission Accomplished.

Yeah, my wife watches China news everyday. She doesn’t watch local nor Western news because she can’t speak English well.

Even she KNOWS the Western media sometimes spins nonsense about Trump from State-run media outlets in China. The way these guys at the top selectively disseminate information is masterful.

EDIT:

They get to paint the US in 2 ways:

  1. The President is a lying moron due to the failure of the Western concept of democratic elections.

  2. The Free Press is TREASONESS because of their lies about The State and the President.

GWB is fine because he meant well. (so youse all think)

Trump is a demented demon because he’s a lying, full of hot air showman/salesman who has no interest in facts. (so youse apparently just all realized after decades of public behavior)

I’m a “minority”, and I’m with @twojarslave 100% in my puzzlement over which Hill exactly all those crazed gun-toting violent white supremacists who are going to threaten my life are coming from, exactly.

The closer to the truth, the more effective the propaganda/misinformation.

(The best lies have an element of truth.)

Yup. I simply can’t discuss any kind of complicated political matters with my wife because there are so many things I can’t defend which were strategically peppered within the propaganda she watches.

I think we both know the answer: Yes! Donald Trump can.

It’s not irrelevant in the school of discourse.

If I make a post and you respond.

I assume you are willing to engage in back and forth dialogue.

When you say something and I ask you to substantiate it.

Saying go google it doesn’t make what you’re saying right. It doesn’t push the conversation further. Now if thats not the kinda of discussion you want to have thats fine. Just don’t respond to me (people in general).

Thats not how you have an exchange of ideas. At least thats certainly not how I like to do it. I am not here to tally up points on a score board and make myself feel better about having a micro phallus.

I was starting to get impression that you were not sure which posts were in response to you and which were in response to other people. So I thought I would help you along by reminding you that was in response to him and not you.

Ok I didn’t just read the headline. I read the whole thing.

Where the hell did you see that. Like seriously where. Show me.

Where does Donald Trump say:

“I think all Mexicans are rapists by virtue of being Mexican”

Show me in anything that he’s ever said that can interpreted as that without having to do the most insanely retarded mental gymnastics.

Now I think a real question to be asked, since arguing over wether DJT said that or not is stupid since he obviously didn’t, is to ask what sort of people are coming through.

And that brings us to the issue of immigration and who we should and shouldn’t let into this country. But I am sure there is a thread with thousands of posts about that subject already.

Can I offer you a Kleenex?

That’s not good enough to get it done. The pre-Trump economy was already doing well, and I am interested to know what differentiating thing Trump did that sent more AAs into the workforce that wouldn’t have otherwise occurred but for Trump’s action. Do you have anything, anything at all?

None of that materially adds jobs to the economy. Only 8% of this group was affected, and they got their money back to spend on whatever they want. Fine, no issues. That didn’t create a jobs boom for AAs, that’s ridiculous.

So, we are (again) stuck at zero - Trump and his cultists claim over and over that Dear Leader is responsible for more AAs in the workforce than ever, but can’t produce evidence of something he did to make that true.

Yes your straw man rebuttal, continued with your most recent post, has me in tears alright.

Outcomes don’t lie, but Democrats pushing their narratives sure do. I’ll leave it up to you guys to explain how an unrepentant white supremacist president has somehow allowed AA prosperity under his administration.

They don’t, but simply coming before the outcome does not equate to being the cause of the outcome. Post hoc ergo propter hoc.

I’m looking for evidence. If you know of anyone who has any, send them my way.
