If you figure out how to vote in our election make sure to tell me how you pulled the magic trick off!
Hey I am not the most political savvy individual.
But I just watched this video with White House press secretary being asked by media about Trumps stand regarding white supremacy and if he was willing to denounce it.
Well this lady came prepared and gave several quotes and dates of said quotes and was prepared to go through them.
The most recent of which had been just the other day.
She went on to say no president has has denounced white supremacy more than Donald Trump. Now I don’t know if that is true but I can believe it.
So what I am getting at. Because for the life of me I can’t understand it.
What is the goal? What are those people trying to accomplish by repeatedly asking this question?
Doesn’t it make them look stupid to keep asking it despite the many many times he has be documented denouncing it?
Is it a power move?
I was thinking it was a power play. When I watched the debate while Trump effectively denounced white supremacy during the debate he did not do it in the manner in which the left obviously wanted him to. He did not use the words that they were telling him to say.
And I feel Trump did not say the words the way they wanted to because he is hyper aware of power and control in situations like that. He knows what the consequence would be if you succumb to that sort of pressure and give those people what they want. It makes you look weak.
Am I missing something? To me its like come on man isn’t obvious the dudes not a white supremacist. Look what he has said. Look how he was perceived by the black community prior to running for president.
Its like people can’t be that stupid. And I don’t think they are. I think something a bit more complex is going on am I am not perceiving it.
Please let me know what you all think. I really am curious.
Here is the video.
Chris Wallace grooved trump a fastball down the middle of the plate right into his wheelhouse and he swung and missed badly. He didn’t really denounce any white supremacy groups at all by saying “stand back and stand by”. The proud boys see this as a rallying cry. They used this to get new members.
You know who has a problem denouncing white supremacist? Other white supremacist.
Ok.
So.
First.
Regardless of the debate. This has been something that has been going on for a while now. He has repeatedly denounced it. Multiple videos. A quick search will show this.
So I ask again. What am I missing?
Second.
Proud Boys. Not a white supremacist group though.
This is what I thought.
Because there are multiple videos of him explicitly denouncing white supremacy, the KKK, neo nazis, etc.
If he has done that multiple times in the past. Do you think perhaps something else might be going on?
Yeah he did not denounce the way they wanted him to denounce them. He did not use the language they wanted him to use.
But he has multiple times in the past.
And now it comes out. Seems like he has once again.
https://edition.cnn.com/2020/10/01/politics/trump-proud-boys-white-supremacists/index.html
I guess it is all about optics.
Trump was right. It is ANTIFA that is the problem. Not fucking Proud Boys a mixed race pro American group.
I believe it’s one of those “So, have you stopped beating your wife?” type questions.
If you say no, then you still beat your wife. If you say yes then you Did beat your wife. “Oh! Clutches pearls, dives for the fainting couch…”.
The media isn’t trying to shed light on anything or understand a position. They’re just trying to play gotcha. If he doesn’t answer both instantly and perfectly–“Oh! He supports white supremacy!”.
It took him 3 days after the debate after he saw what he said didn’t play to well. If you can’t see that trump is a racist then you are seeing a different guy than what I see. Too borrow a quote from someone, it doesn’t matter that I think he’s a racist but the racist thinks he’s a racist and support him wholeheartedly.
Ask yourself, why do the support him?
Ok.
I really put a good amount of effort into my posts trying to have a conversation. Really wish people reciprocated.
See you focus on this:
And assume its because he saw it didn’t play out well.
But you don’t address my point regarding the countless other times he has condemned it. Let’s discuss that.I will go find the videos if you want and link them we can go through them one by one.
I would like to ask what he has done that is racist but thats increasing the scope beyond my first question which is really what I want an answer to.
Did I say I support him?
Or did you just assume I did because I am critical of the people being critical of him regarding the whole denounce white supremacy.
Trump has a long history of racism going back to the 70’s. I’m not going to spoon feed you the info. Try google. I’m not sure why you or anyone else supports him because I don’t know you so I can only speculate that you agree with him.
The real question is why has he had to denounce racism and himself being racist so many times? It’s because he continually says boarderline / suggestive racist stuff. “Good people on both sides”, “stand back, stand by”, numerous remarks disparaging Mexicans and others of different race are examples. Maybe the guy is just terrible with speaking? The quantity of suggestive racist remarks make that hard for me to believe. If it was one and done with apology, I forgive the guy, when it’s repeated it’s hard to believe it was a slip up.
It’s just a discussion. You don’t have to partake.
The same can be said of Biden. But you can google it. I am not going to spoon feed you.
Ok so all people you don’t know you believe agree with Donald Trump. Thats a lot of people.
So many times. You list two times.
The good people on both sides. This has been misconstrued and and falsely woven to portray the president as a racist.
The way most media used it what trying to say Trump says white supremacist = very fine people.
Which is not what he said at all.
Go ahead. Read the above article.
You can read it for yourself and tell me for yourself. Although that might be asking a bit much of you mben87.
The “stand back, stand by” comments. Well we can argue on what exactly is meant by that. Can we interpret that as a denouncement even perhaps a half asses denouncement. I don’t know.
I definitely don’t think it was as strong of an answer as he could have given. And again my point is why might he not have done that. When he has very clearly and very publicly done so many goddamn times in the past.
Tell me I am wrong on that. Tell me he hasn’t denounced white supremacy in one or more of its forms multiple times in last four five years.
Tell me that hasn’t happened mben87.
Perhaps could that be because racist insults stick regardless of wether they are true or not. Say a lie long enough and it becomes truth.
Proof is in the pudding. Where the fuck is this racist pudding at?
And being a racist is one of those things in America where it automatically invalidates you on fundamental level.
Discredits you.
Like “oh your racist I don’t care what you say about anything else because I can’t get down with anyone like that”
So there is incentive to paint him as racist even when he isn’t.
I am pretty sure thats been done to every GOP candidate or Republican president as far as I can remember. GWB, John McCain, I am pretty sure Mitt Romney. All accused of having been racists at one point or another. It is a common tactic.
Obviously they were not accused as much as Trump. But politics are different today. Especially use of identity politics. Maybe thats the reason.
This is irrelevant to the question is Trump racist.
I listed 3, and that’s if you count the things he has said about Mexicans and other races as only one.
How many examples do you need? I don’t accidentally imply Mexicans are rapists on accident. How many times could he possibly say that before your were convinced he didn’t like Mexicans?
Are you dense? I mean I am no smart cookie myself but I don’t think it was confusing what I did there.
Was the comment directed at you? No. magnummd .
So maybe you noticed that. Maybe you read his response to me. Maybe you see I am doing to him what he did to me.
Which is him telling me.
Trump is a racist. Oh you don’t believe me. I am not gonna spoon feed you go google it.
So I just remind him the same claims can more less be made against Biden. Oh should I tell you? No you can just google it.
I could also say Biden likes to have have intercourse with goats. Oh you don’t know that. Google it I am not going to spoon feed you.
Does that make sense to you now?
Yeah ok.
So I provide substantial evidence against the first claim. The good people on both sides one.
I am not even saying you are wrong. I am just saying this is the evidence against what you are saying.
And asking you what do you think of that evidence.
And you 100 % do not engage.
Why is that?
The other one “stand by stand down”
Thats not a racist statement. So how does that even apply. Its either a half ass denouncement or deflection but its not a racist statement.
Ok the third one. The mexican one. Yeah I missed that on my first read through of your post.
Apologies.
Did he accidentally imply Mexicans are racists.
No. No I don’t believe he did.
Yet another attempt to try and twist his words to suit the narrative being spun about him.
Here I ask what you think of this which is a response to Trump saying Mexicans are rapist?
You understand the difference between someone saying a group of people are intrinsically rapists because of their ethnicity versus someone saying that this group of people who happen to be Mexican a lot them getting through are not good people because those are the kind of people that tend to come through.
You ever see Scarface mnben87?
Are you familiar with the Mariel boat lift.
Its a similar thing an appropriate comparison.
Read about it?
You can read right?
Yeah it’s why I keep saying I don’t care for 10sec clips of Trump taken out of context, nor those of Biden looking senile.
Just look at the blatant dishonesty here:
Reporter : “I do love Thomas Jefferson.”
Trump : "Okay, good. Are we going to take down the statue? Because he was a major slave owner. Now, are we going to take down his statue?
"So you know what, it’s fine. You’re changing history. You’re changing culture. And you had people – and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists – because they should be condemned totally. But you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists. Okay? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly.
“Now, in the other group also, you had some fine people. But you also had troublemakers, and you see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets, and with the baseball bats. You had a lot of bad people in the other group.”
Reporter : “Sir, I just didn’t understand what you were saying. You were saying the press has treated white nationalists unfairly? I just don’t understand what you were saying.”
Seriously, what is this nonsense? How can you even be gainfully employed if you can’t even understand something as basic as this?
Bro, you gotta read between the lines to get woke.
Lol, you gotta look at the earlier parts of the transcript. The part I quoted was when he had to bring out the red crayons.
TRUMP had to bring out the red crayons. Let that sink in.
And he had to to it for a reporter who’s profession is to report accurate news to millions of people everyday.
All I see is Trump saying it’s okay to run over people for not hating black people as long as those people don’t have a permit.
If he’s racist, he’s the most incompetent racist ever.
Lowest Black unemployment rate in history
Criminal Justice reform
Money for HBCU
School choice
The First Step Act
Enterprise Zones
No argument that he isn’t incompetent.
What are you talking about? I would need to see that data. IIRC, it is around 12% currently. That isn’t the highest it’s been, but it certainly has been lower under different administrations.
I saw what you did, and it was irrelevant and I am just pointing that out.
This isn’t DMs. It is an open forum.
Did you even read the headline of the PolitiFact you posted? It is disputing a direct quote as false. Basically the “all” makes it false because Trump only implied that Mexican immigrants are rapists. Look you can find articles or studies that support many different contradictory opinions. I look at what he says and evaluate. It is my subjective judgement call, and I don’t think a person in a public speaking situation can say so many racist things on accident.
He’s both.
The acts you mention are just failed attempts to garner black votes but they wont work. He will still get under 10% of the black vote. I wonder why?
You are not dumb enough to think the pandemic unemployment rate is reflective of Trump’s economic policies. 5.1% in 2019.
