A: I don’t know that this matters. Trump is his own man with his own ideas and it’s been a disaster. Give me a President who will listen over one who thinks the only opinion that counts is his. This whole he’s going to be controlled thing is a complete talking point something you could have said about anyone else at any time when it comes to presidential politics. The one person you can’t say that about is Trump. Do you really prefer him with his own ideas ignoring experts and watching cable news all day?
B: Acceptable mental capacity? He’s old, possibly forgetful, and has a career of sticking his foot in his mouth from time to time.
He’s a million times more in charges of his thoughts and emotions than Trump will ever be. You have a career of public service to pick crazy things that Biden has said or done. And they will still be smaller than a month of Trump speeches and tweets when it comes to insanity level

You beat me to it. If Trump listened to his staff I doubt he’d come out with half the crazy shit he spouts daily.
A good leader puts good people in positions around them and hears them out prior to finalizing plans, making speeches, etc. This also involves finding people who you don’t always agree with to challenge you and contrast with you at times.

1/2 of the voters will not vote for Biden because they see Sanders et al with his hand jammed up Biden’s backside. Biden doesnt know this and doesnt know that he doesnt know it.
A few moderates see Biden in debates and you can go ahead and ramp up your popular vote better whine.
And there are PACs and super Pace being formed by conservatives against Trump and in support of Biden.

I’m not saying you’re wrong that half the voters may think that about Sanders, but I don’t think it’s true. It seems to me that most establishment Dems see Sanders as a wart pretty close to their asshole. They were ready to put a thumb on the scale in 2016 to make sure HRC got the nomination. He’s gained some traction, but he’s far from being in control of the party.

It seems unprecedented. Bush Sr. got a lot of Republicans riled up with his AWB and allowed Ross “look at this pie chart” Perot to f up the election for him in 92’ but that’s the last time I remember such backlash from a candidates own party.

That’s a leap which is needed because the right needs people to be scared of Biden. Because who rationally looks at Trump and thinks “we need more of that?!” Plain and simple Trump is a lunatic. I’m fine if people think he’s the lesser of two evils or something. I disagree but I get it. But he’s definitely nuts.
As this thread goes on, I’m more inclined to agree with @Sloth than anyone else. I’ve tried the ‘vote them better’ option both in and outside of the Tory party. It hasn’t worked, so what’s the point?
I’d rather vote for something I can stand over, or not vote at all. Why vote ‘conservative’ When all you’ll achieve is a slower left wing party with your fingerprints on it?

In the US Republicans save conservatism for when they don’t have power. Make no doubt about it if Biden wins the national debt is going to be a huge deal on the right again.

Oh, I have zero doubt. Neither US party or U.K. party conserve what I’d like to anyway. The debt is just the cherry on top of their piss poor governance.
