The Push to 2020 Has Begun!

I was referring to the “swamp”

Oh Biden is a strong candidate.
2x loser already, because he is an empty suit other than swinging deals for family through political connection.

a. I don’t care if he is his own man. Results are what I care about. Not being an embarrassment it also important to me.

b. Don’t know. I would take Kamala over Trump or Pence though. I am watching Biden’s speech, and I agree with @Californiagrown that it was well delivered. IMO, the senile, losing it thing is hyperbole. I don’t think he would be capable of delivering that speech with if he was severely losing it.

I was actually impressed with Biden, but impressed the same way I am when anyone I have low expectations of exceeds them. As much as I like politicians who can say the right words to get votes, I still prefer ones that aren’t set on implementing more of their train wreck policies with the help of brazen lies from the majority of our media landscape.

I particularly don’t like it when the Democrats mobilize their domestic terror wing. I understand that only happens every few decades and not ALL Democrats support BLM, Antifa, or the elected officials who encourage the chaos. Hell, the last Democrat grand wizard of the KKK retired from Congress over 10 years ago. Water under the bridge.

You’re just voting for a party that’s been enabling domestic terrorists and caving to their policy demands, as it has done historically, which isn’t the same thing as burning down a Target yourself. #resistance isn’t always pretty, is it?

Four more years of Trump doing Trump things seems quite preferable to everything being talked about as an actual Democrat policy. In fact, I think some form of legislative gridlock might be ideal until the next election.

Not the weapon I’d choose to swing when Trump is on the other side. His family friendly deals are far more numerous.

Trump hasn’t been.

As long as both sides treat the other’s side with some understanding. You’re all voting for turds. “Trump voters immoral voting for Trump!” Votes Biden.

You guys are fighting over the bread to sandwich manure in. Brioche or Rye. Who cares, it’s feces.

I understand for you, as for the author of the philosophical article treco posted earlier, policy is the driver. Fine. My concern with policy is foreign policy, where I feel Trump has been absolutely abysmal. That is an area that I want stability in even above domestic policy - because the stock market is largely operating independently of the economic fundamentals and looks to be that way for a long while. Which is to say, a) I don’t think Biden hurts the market (Trump’s talking point) and b) the fundamental economic damage has already been done (on Trump’s watch). From an economic standpoint, Biden won’t hurt things.

I have a VERY hard time believing that Biden becoming POTUS will engender more market instability than we’ve seen the last 4 years.

Which might be another reason to support a democrat. I don’t, but I’m saying that the gridlock will be better there since I foresee GoP majority in one house at least, and both at mid terms. Typical flip.

Would be great if did actual serious interviews (not with a John drugging ex-stripper/prostitute) more. So he has to think on his feet. Debates! Give me debates. I won’t vote for either. But I do love the spectacle!

IMO, Biden should not even engage with Trump in a debate. He should just stick to a positive message. No need to even address any of the silly attacks. Trump does not engage in rational debate anyways (or at least I haven’t heard him do so). He attacks and demonstrates logical fallacies (that work on the ignorant, so it isn’t a terrible strategy by him).

I do feel like that is the best strategy with Trump. Just talk to the audience. I think Republican challengers always ended up making the mistake eventually of trying to directly brawl with him.

I think it would have the effect of making Trump look like a child who isn’t worth engaging with and Biden like the adult. An adult is just going to talk to the crowd because the child is just spewing nonsense like Trump will do.

Will probably piss Trump off to no end too.

It is, especially given the speech, and given the yardstick his mental capacity will be measured against. Trump recently said that the 1918 flu ended WW2, and in recent days, in the middle of a press conference, went down the looney trail of how and why he’s not a fan of sharks.

Sarah Cooper’s lip syncing actually puts focus on the insanity of the words spoken by Trump

I liked how he addressed the violence and rioting in his speech.

OK hold on while I move over to where you put your goalposts now since you didn’t mention Reade in the post I replied to. I think the point is that it’s hard to separate the candidates based on:

  1. Association with pop stars who’ve written/sang/wrapped raunchy songs.
  2. Creepy/sexual predator behavior with women. In this category I think it’s really hard to claim that Biden’s reputation is anywhere close to as bad as Trump’s even if you believe Tara Reade. Trump has what, two dozen claims of sexual misconduct against him? He’s admitted to walking in on nude Miss Teen USA contestants and grabbing women by the p***y.

Um, I’m not voting for Trump. I am saying don’t vote for either.

Goal post moving? Anyone who has ever complained about Trump has to shift goals posts by miles to justify a vote for Biden. And a VP pick who apparently shifted posts after having previously believed those women.

Stop voting for these types, period.

OK fair enough, I thought you were taking a piss. Who are you voting for if you don’t mind sharing?

No problem. Just going to vote for Brian Carrol I think. Unless something comes up about him. Only just started to look at him and his party. Think Christian conservative, more Democrat Economically? Don’t know how to sum it up.

Yeah, I remember you posting about him a few days ago now. Well a lot of people would say you’re wasting a vote, but I would not. Not voting for either major candidate sends a message if enough people do it. At least I’d think so, don’t know for sure.

That guy’s an interesting mix of views some of which I could get behind. He’s gotta’ lose the beard or grow a mustache though.

She’s amazing. That stream of consciousness alone should disqualify someone from having the nuclear codes.

And I just don’t get the attempt to attack Biden on mental capacity grounds. One, Trump sounds far worse and it isn’t debatable, and two, they’re setting the bar so low that when Biden does talk/perform, he smashes expectations just by talking in complete sentences.

Yeah, he has no chance. But, for myself, I sleep better at night this way
