The Push to 2020 Has Begun!

I’m not sure how one can watch or listen to a speech and think Biden should be scared to debate. But Biden in a debate has ground to lose and Trump doesn’t. Trump stumbles, can’t complete sentences, everything under the sun but we are used to seeing this on a daily basis. So watching him fumble ass his way through stuff like normal doesn’t have an effect on anything. Trump can’t answer a basic question but we’re used to that.

Biden will definitely stumble as well but we haven’t seen it as much as with Trump (even though he has no shortage of examples) and that can hit him. Trumps an old man yelling at clouds in his own made up language but we’ve seen him do that daily for years now. Biden screwing up will be amplified in a way that Trump won’t be.

The problem that Biden has (IMO) is that Trump’s bullsh*t is “battle-tested” and is already “baked” into people’s public perceptions. What other dumb-ass crap can Trump say that he hasn’t already tweeted?

Unless he get’s up there and says something so outlandish that even Hannity would disown the guy…it’s doubtful that anything he says in a debate will affect him.

Not so much with Biden.

The debates have a huge downside for him.

…so can Biden’s VP pick.

I guess you haven’t seen his latest HBO special then?

By the way, this is a must watch, a collection of greatest hits with some new material thrown in…

Although I think Mufasa’s “battle-tested” label is too kind, I get what he’s saying. No Trump supporter gives a damn what he will say in the debates. He can objectively lose a debate on all fronts and his fanboys won’t care, as long as he keeps makin’ the libtards cry.

I know people say that there’s not much enthusiasm for Biden, but to me that’s kind of a good thing. He’s a centrist, so nobody who leans hard one way or the other is going get that excited about a guy like that. On the other hand, candidates like Bernie get people excited, which is fucking scary if you ask me. It’d be good if Biden’s Q score was higher though.

His approval numbers have jumped up about a point on 538. I like the interviewer. He did a good grilling and was fast on his feet. He kept pushing Trump on the claim that the US was doing great on Corona virus. At one point Trump claims that the US is doing great because it has less deaths than the world. The guys face after that one was priceless.

Agree. Lack of excitement is a good reason to be excited. I just want a boring old guy who listens to his advisors, and doesn’t get either side happy or angry. I want boring. Make politics boring again!

I agree, but I think there’s a limit. Biden didn’t light the world on fire in the primary debates, but he didn’t disintegrate either. He had good debates and bad debates, but they were all within the realm of “normal politician”. He has downside showing up to debate, but I don’t think it has the potential to be a disaster.

He also has an amazing amount of material to capitalize on, from the Axios interview alone.

I just don’t know that he can really make Trump look any more unhinged than Trump does himself. It’s a weird election. Team Biden is saying you don’t really need to hit Trump because you won’t be able to do it like he can and Team Trump is telling their candidate nicely “Mr President your best chance to win this election is to not do the thing you love most in the world and want to do all the time.”

I would think both would be tough in a way to advise. I’m sure Biden as an old as politician isn’t used to holding back punching during elections and Trump probably has an actual psychological condition which keeps him from doing what he needs to do to improve. Trying to get him to not talk and really not talk about himself is incredibly easy to say but not sure anyone can get him to do it.

In case you’re behind on the combo of idiocy and rank lack of integrity of the Trump administration, Trump has now sued Nevada over their new state law to provide expanded mail-in voting while simultaneously tweeting about how great and safe mail-in voting is in Florida.

He’s that stupidly transparent.

@H_factor:

This seems like a great time to post the often posted Quote of Captain Miller…a man who had up until the time if his death had seen all that War has had to offer…from “Saving Private Ryan”:

"…Sergeant (Mike Horvath)…, we have crossed some strange boundary here…
The world has taken a turn for the surreal…"

Listening to the trump interview with Axios (the one being talked about recently) and am only 7 minutes in so far. Its bad, but in the standard trump-bad kind of way. 30 more minutes to go…

Disaster to the left, disaster to the right.

That’s why I put in my post that we had already seen it all from him. Nothing surprising is going to come out of interviews. We already know he doesn’t know how government works (and won’t educate himself), we know he doesn’t mind being a dickhead to veterans and dead people, we know he can’t answer questions and rambles about unrelated things to deflect.

I mean sure each time he speaks might bring a new nugget or fun quote but it’s not telling us anything we don’t know for sure already. It’s like if you haven’t seen an interview and someone ran up with a phone and said you have to see this new Trump interview you’ll never believe what he said. No I will believe it he can’t shock anyone with anything anymore. The only thing he could shock someone with now is taking any responsibility or saying anything along the lines of he screwed something up. And those are not things that he will ever do.

I tell you what, guys…I would like all of thoughts on this…

Is this becoming a game of CHESS…or of CHICKEN/Who will blink first?

“Former Vice President Joe Biden no longer plans to travel to Milwaukee to formally accept his party’s nomination for president and will instead do so from his home state of Delaware, the Democratic National Convention announced Wednesday”.

“The convention is still slated to kick off on August 17 with four nights of prime-time programming planned. A “custom virtual video control room” has been built by the party to take in hundreds of remote feeds nationwide, the party said”.

“Meanwhile, President Trump announced last month that he is canceling the Jacksonville portion of the Republican National Convention, which is set to begin on August 24. Mr. Trump said on Wednesday that he is considering delivering his speech accepting the Republican nomination from the front lawn of the White House”.

It sure is becoming damn interesting.

Wait until they try to schedule the debates…and who will moderate!

BUCKLE UP!

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volleyed and thundered;
Stormed at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of hell
Rode the six hundred…

The Trooper…
