Which news report are you thinking of?

I wish Trump had been successfully removed the first time. I called it in 2016, he’s destroyed a party I used to love.

Reported in Vanity Fair, which claims to habe a copy of the plan:

Ah, that’s why I missed the story. I largely avoid them (unrelated reasons). Thanks!

Is this the source of the Kushner story or is it some other news source?

Really? That’s your criticism of the story? It’s facts don’t check out because…they have celebrity women in glamorous poses for their covers?

Have y’all forgotten how journalism works?

I only read Playboy for the articles.

Is there a copy of this plan from the unnamed source? Or corroborating evidence from other journalists following this development?

Or just Believe her?
It is a rather serious accusation, no?

It certainly is, which is why the author reached out to the WH to get their side of the story, to which:

The White House did not respond to Vanity Fair’s request to interview Mr. Kushner or to a detailed list of questions.

I read through the article 3x and don’t see this statement.

I do see spox denying the accusation
I see no POs, requisitions, or even a purchasing agent
I do see no payment has been made due to absence of paperwork
I do see the UAE group refusing to return call from the author
I do see the appt of a testing czar 3/12/2020.

Read the bottom - they updated the article because the WH responded.

It’s moronic that federal elections aren’t a holiday already. Should have been that way long before Covid was existed. Not sure I believe in universal mail in as in no in person voting options but mail in voting has already expanded rapidly last few elections. I’m not sure how we can argue that 20% of the public can vote by mail and it isn’t an issue but if 50 do it is? Seems like we either can trust it or we can’t. Probably too late to change anything significantly. We could have easily done some in person changes that would have helped. Expand it to two days. Expand the time frame. Ease the close line issue. But it’s probably too late to do any of that now.

The results are going to be questioned no matter what. One of the two main candidates has talked about the election being rigged non stop. It’s a hallmark of his. He talked about the last one being rigged and said he wasn’t sure he would accept the results. Now Biden’s saying Trump will steal it. Pencil and paper, raised hands, electronic, mail, going door to door doesn’t matter what the hell we do people now more than ever think it’s all bullshit.

For real? The actual person they would be “stealing from” has pushed false narratives and brazen lies at a pace that puts all other Presidents to shame. It’s such a weird attack just like hitting Biden for not mentally being with it but supporting someone who is clearly deranged himself. I don’t get it. It’s like two people having the exact same totals on all lifts and saying ones such a weakling and the other ones not.

Also a lot of evidence of voter fraud that Republicans crow about is found out to be pretty much nothing or it comes out that they have been the ones being fraudulent. But it’s another weird take when the actual President isn’t trustworthy to do it correctly himself. Trust me I’m from the state of nut job Kobach who talked huge voter fraud 24/7 and then couldn’t find it for team Trump. Trump also voted by mail but don’t let that stop him from telling you how horrible it is. Everyone’s just trying to overturn the 2016 election or something for the thousandth time I guess.

Weird. It’s almost like groups that have very little in common should not be together under the same government.

I will admit being partisan about some aspects, like being happy when my guy uses executive orders while ragging the other guy when he does it.

But the fact that any relative, and l include son in law here, is involved in any capacity other than invited guest for a family Sunday dinner - chaps me.

Was just reviewing Presidential voter turnout for the past 100 years.
50 - 60% +/- of voting age population. Old subject here, l know.
While it may be a blessing that the ignorant don’t vote blindly, what a commentary on not giving a damn about one’s own interest.

I truly believe a popular vote instead of electoral would raise that percentage significantly.

Have the election take place over more than one day. Election day is a Tuesday, so start on the Saturday before. Have mobile voting booths.

Of course, in some states you know your vote won’t mean anything. But the reality is that right now, dems would be favored in a popular vote scenario. Republicans would either have to alter their message and approach to make it more appealing to a wider group of voters or, keep it the way it is. Maybe their message could be: Our crazies are not as crazy as their crazies.

Trump like wait people don’t like my personality?!

While I feel like it is virtually impossible to predict anything when it comes to Trump; there are a number of Political Pundits; both Left and Right; predicting utter chaos with the election, especially if Trump loses.

He has already begun the process of “poisoning the water” by saying that it will be the most corrupt election in U.S. History (which I am sure will change should he win). Many expect him to go Full Medieval should he lose, by unleashing Lawyers and Hell on the legitimacy of the whole election.

Wow.

Thoughts?
