The Push to 2020 Has Begun!

Exactly. Didn’t see much footage like this from the BLM protests:

Will be stealing this for future usage; especially with anyone I know from Seattle area…

What “brutality” are you talking about? They could’ve driven right over him, instead they carefully placed him out of harm’s way.

Been a busy day. Here’s the thing though–we agree on general policing. But “crowd control” centered around a building they are tasked with defending seems to centered squarely on their responsibility. If they were wandering away from the building sure I guess, but my understanding was that they were centering efforts around their own perimeter, which frankly seems quite practical and reasonable.

As for running people down, it would seem if they could identify the individual from earlier that would satisfy probable cause and be in their purview no? As Cali pointed out that’s probably a tall order given masks and hoods etc., so maybe it is specious. if it was as vague as you suggest it’s certainly specious and should be cracked down on.

I’m out of my depth here and I’ll admit it, but some of this seems to be centered around the building which they do have every right to handle. Some of it quite obviously not (observers, etc.)

What am I missing?

It would be if we hadn’t decided to save all the idiots…

I was not aware of that being a historical thread. Probably because I didn’t think proudboys had a presence there at all lol. I agree that’s definitely 100% not ok and criminal in the worst way.

Yeah but that isn’t going to fly with a judge. They’re marked, and AFAIK the whole dimly lit environment would apply to narc raids in cities across the country, so I’m sure that would have been tried before as a defense.

The forged gear might be a strategy…

Yeah Portland is the epicenter for proudboys vs antifa. Oregon gets REAL rednecky really quick outside PDX/Ashland/Eugene/bend.

Well, I learned something today lol

Trump definitely going to have an advantage in the sporting area. He’s going to have a shot at golfing more in his first term than Obama did in two terms.

I remember (even on this board) the barbs thrown about how often 44 played. Now you’ve got a President who said he would be too busy to play, but playing almost 3 times as often. I guess like a lot of things it’s not a big deal now.

I bet you I didn’t have a problem with Obama golfing. I also don’t have a problem with Trump golfing. I wish all Presidents would golf at least three times as much as Trump, and that they’d bring all of both Congress and the Supremes with them each time.

Just a reminder, you needn’t vote for either.

Has anyone stopped by to check in on Joe Biden recently? It has been really hot outside lately and someone needs to make sure he is drinking enough water.

I don’t get it - there are a thousand legitimate ways to attack Joe Biden, but dementia and cognitive decline? Really? That is supposed to be Trump’s advantage?

Just compare Trump public appearances from lets say 2014 and now. The man repatedly bragged in public that he passed an exam with “very hard questions” used for diagnosing dementia aka “name this animal”.

Thats what I call a half-joke. You have to joke about these things when the party of historically bad ideas sees fit to nominate someone who is literally incapable of functioning well enough to, say, answer softball questions on the spot.

I’d be far less concerned if he was running on a Clinton-esque policy platform from the brief period in the Dems history when they were mostly sensible, with a VP positioned to continue being sensible when the inevitable happens. Instead we have a platform of radical transformation with no explanation of how any of it will improve outcomes.

As it stands right now someone should investigate the Democratic Party to see if they have any ties to America.

Welp, trump floated the idea of delaying the election on his twitter, and pinned it to the top of his feed.

I mean, if putin can do it, why shouldnt djt?

I don’t like the idea of delaying elections, but I don’t like the idea of opening up a massive risk of voter fraud to people who insist that the window be opened.

I know, I know. It’s CRAZY to think that the same party who relies on imported voters, false narratives and brazen lies to stay in power would EVER do something like steal an election from Donald Trump.

Nope, and just shut up Trump.

But, at this moment, nope to universal mail in too. You’re going to have a lot of work to do to convince me.

Put on your mask, stand on the designated 6ft apart standing spots, and cast your vote. Wash hands.

It feels like half the nation already rejects the results as illegitimate every election. Universal mail-in would be a cluster of epic proportions at such an incredibly tense time

CBS? Fake news.

I would have to believe that sending envelopes to a random private PO box in July would involve more steps for the USPS than sending all election ballots (obvious envelopes) to a single location. Basically, the election envelopes would not really need to be sorted at all by USPS, which would cut down significantly on the the logistical issues.

eg. “oh another ballot envelope… toss it in the ballot pile”. no sorting and less likely to misplace.

I wouldn’t take this “study” to heart.

Is this a half-joke, or a full one? I don’t know,who you’re talking about here.

As is, after a day of learning we had the worst economic contraction in a fiscal quarter since we started tracking that stat, we also learn there was a robust federal plan to provide testing and contact tracing (similar to what competent nations did), but it got shitcanned - oh, and also your cult leader is tweeting that we need to postpone the election in the midst of all this.

Your attempts to paint Biden as some guy not big enough or competent enough to step into the role while your cult leader self-immolates daily in a dumpster fire of his own making is adorable. Even if Biden is a boring, nondescript figurehead who does nothing except throw out first pitches for the next four years, it’s a step up - he’d still have a far better record than Trump.
