The Push to 2020 Has Begun!

The response? The response is mild compared to the extent and tenacity of the riot. Nobody is turning machine guns on protestors or driving tanks over them as they peacefully lay in the streets. Meanwhile, rioters keep trying to find ways to burn down a building with living human beings inside of it! Launching mortar level fireworks at people in hopes of burning them alive. Trying to blind officers with ball bearings launched from slings and slingshots,

I’m supposed to cry tyranny because Federal agents wear protective gear and camo when jumping out to detain a suspect in the middle of a crowd undoubtedly peppered with people who the night before was just trying to maim and/or kill them? People who dox them and threaten their families? Sorry they forgot their khakis and clipboards.

A concrete building with multiple fire doors, fire barriers, routes of escape, fire protections systems, underground tunnels, etc is not at risk from being burned down due to a firework, or from a cardboard fire on the front steps. Perspective, again. And again, i’m not saying these are peaceful protestors.

Are you fine with a president (notoriously hostile to the political climate in portland) ordering in a militarized federal force to a state against that states wishes to conduct street operations with no real range limit, with no oversight from the state and with only a loose connection to their legal mandate? I think that is very scary.

the ones being barricaded by fences and debris at times as placed by the peaceful protestors? And how does this lessen the threat against human life? “We’ll they had doors and windows to climb out. And lived in a modern brick home!” That would work for you if an arsonist visited your home tonight? I think not.

As someone who designs those buildings, they are not in threat of being burned down by these protestors. Full stop. You can choose to believe a professional in the field or not. thats not to say the officers are 100% safe from what the rioters are doing and a firework can for sure cause burn/explosive injuries. But stop with the they are going to burn down the federal courthouse with everyone inside.

Um, that has no bearing. Because they can’t, doesn’t mean they aren’t attempting to. You could tell me you have fire sprinklers over inch over your house. If I keep trying to burn it down every night with you and yours inside…

Which is for the sake of argument. I don’t mean to use anyone here personally as an example. I wish everyone here the best. Didn’t think about that before hitting post.

Rioters bad. Federal force protect federal building good… things we agree on.

however, you think that a federal force performing street operations with no limit on range, under a loose mandate of “protect federal property”, in unmarked cars, not trained as police officers, against the wishes of state and local officials, and at the request of a president who notoriously has an axe to grind against portland is A-okay. I do not think that is A-okay.

I think it’s scary that the mayor sides with the criminals because… Trump.

No doubt. But trump and the scary shit he does has a much larger effect on all our lives as opposed to a mayor of a city 300 miles away in another state.

We have a shining example of your overarching point here. Trump is THE issue, because his area/city/whatever, is, and apparently will not be, affected. LOL.

What about a Squad of militant Marxist congresswomen?

How many of them are? Aren’t they a Gang of Three?

They need one more.

There is a great candidate in Portland.

No, fittingly, they are four.

Ah yes, I forgot about Pressley.

So a theme park version of the Cultural Revolution it is then.

I’ll quote myself to bump this development. @Uncle_Gabby - maybe we should just show these IGs your video of DHS’s press conference and demand an apology that they bothered to dare question federal intervention in DC and Portland?

2 is a couple
3 is a crowd
4 is a SQUAAAD!!!

Shocker.

A Thursday press release notes that the DOJ watchdog is beginning work on the probe in response to Congressional requests and a referral from the U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon — as well as from “complaints” directly received by Horowitz’s office.

In other news, arms have already been broken by self-congratulatory hugs, self-given before any verdict is reached.

After all of the partisan nonsense that’s boiled up over this issue an investigation seems appropriate. If it turns out the acting secretary of homeland lied he should be fired. And if they find out everything is above board, as they said in the press conference, I’m sure you’ll either pretend it never happened, or dismiss it with another conspiracy theory.

I will accept their findings. Anyone else? Let’s see.
