The Push to 2020 Has Begun!

I would never ever have questioned Obama’s decision to allow federal law enforcement to protect a federal courthouse under attack, night after night, during a prolonged violent siege. Including investigations and arrests on and off the property. And frankly, I don’t think Obama’s response would be any different if it was under attack during his term. I would have supported Obama wholeheartedly.

We may be on opposite sides of the political spectrum, but I would’ve supported my President against right-wing violence and riots. No group breaking the law and using violence to affect political change will receive my support or protection. It doesn’t matter how much it may or may not hurt a political incumbent. And, isn’t that something? That despite the hey-day of the scary Tea-party we don’t really have anything like these events under Obama? Which side has been fostering violence this whole time?

Large-scale rightish movement pretty much picked up the trash after their own gatherings. Left-wing leaves death and destruction behind.

Remember the fearsome anti-lockdown mobs everyone?! Stupid cause. But peaceful.

I will not over look political violence by my side. I have been adamant on these forums that abortion is the true taking of an innocent human life. And I’ll be the first to say that pro-life violence should be met with the full force of the law.

There’s no whip-lash. I don’t poo-poo political violence. It has no place.

Imagine what people would say if Obama bragged about his Noble prize half as much as Trump brags about passing a dementia test.

When reading through this thread it seems like the most pressing issue of the day is far-left extremism with cities on the brink of riots. I see Trump’s campaign messaging of him being law and order and Biden being chaos seems to be working.

For many others I’m guessing this Portland nonsense is not the most pressing issue on their mind. It won’t help the unemployed get their job back. It doesn’t address COVID-19 and how we can possibly get things back on track. It’s just as bad as when the left was claiming electing trump was akin to America being white nationalist. It’s honestly impressive to see how the campaign messaging really works when I thought people would clearly see through the fear mongering nonsense.

Like how Trump is setting himself up to reject the will of the people after he is defeated? Making himself forever Emperor?

Sorry, but the Portland nonsense is related to the extremist race-baiting, ‘Karen’ shaming, collective white-guilt, cancel culture we see ad naseum in the news, entertainment, academia.

Kind of… that seems to be coming more from how Trump has answered those questions.

But overall, yes, it’s fear mongering. I don’t take that seriously and will not be voting due to me being scared of Trump being emperor.

Hey, I gotcha. Understood.

Pretty much. The PDX riot is small potatoes. It affects a 2-3 block area of the city made up of a couple parks and a couple federal buildings. But trump and Fox have scared the nation into thinking this is some fight for the soul of our nation.

Ive been saying on here for a while that CHOP, and PDX are small potatoes, and the media overblew the hell out of CHOP. But, i get shouted down time and time again by folks arguing a slippery slope. Meanwhile, covid is rampaging due to americans not taking it seriously (thanks in large part to executive leadership), the stock market (and those wealthy enough to take advantage) is being propped up by the Fed printing monopoly money, and the economy is on the brink soon to crash (the only question is how badly)- latest jobs report had an unexpected loss of 1.4 million jobs. But no, the real problem here is a couple hundred angsty white progressives throwing rocks and fireworks at a big ass concrete building.

It’s clear that responding to your hyper partisan nonsense is a waste of my time. Here is what you stated up thread:

“Trump is wheeling out unidentified law enforcement and militarizing a response to civil unrest that belongs with the local authorities”

and

“On what authority does the President have the right to send in a federal goon squad to engage in offensive tactics against city dwellers causing trouble.”

This inflammatory nonsense was specifically addressed in the press conference I linked to. You apparently can’t come up with a marginally coherent response to the video, and you obviously lack the integrity to admit you were wrong, or lieing. The best you can come up with is a pathetic Obama whataboutism. That’s about as low as the strawman attack you threw at me earlier.

Exactly. We have serious national issues to deal with, and radical idiots in Portland - bad as they are - isn’t one of them. Those events are not representative of a larger problem in cities, propaganda aside.

What is nationally important is: no real end in sight on a terribly mismanaged pandemic, Depression-ish unemployment rates, and racial division (and who is best equipped to get us past it).

Expecting that video to convince me (and others on this thread) that the federal response was appropriate is a bit insulting to our intelligence. Someone in that position lying or bending the truth to make his department sound as good as possible is far more likely than not.

Also, saying that someone is not intellectually honest for replying before watching the 42 minute video you posted is a bit ridiculous.

Imagine if he bombed middle eastern people. Imagine if he rounded up illegals and put their kids in cages. Imagine if he denounced so called peaceful protests. Imagine if he stood for the rule of law.

There’s a thread where we fix that issue as well.

Trump is sending feds into other cities as well to address the spike in crime.

Heh, yep. DHS comes in with the after the fact CYA after having men in camo take to the streets and conduct general policing, and we are supposed to believe it all and nod along compliantly.

It’s not just about Portland. It’s about children in NYC and Chicago. It’s about an 8 year old shot to death in Atlanta because street thugs were permitted to put up barriers in some bid to set up autonomous zones…

It’s about focusing on “Karen’s” and “nice white parents” and statistically unlikely deaths by police. All the while dozens are murdered in single weekends in cities during a mad dash to defund police and tear down, in undemocratic tantrums of rage, our monuments, history, and symbols.

He doesn’t have the authority to do that without the invitation of local authorities or invocation of emergency/martial law, etc.

It’s a stunt designed to get attention. You realize that, right?

It’s clear that only certain black lives matter.

And those Antifa protesters have their fair share of racists.

Well, the left leaning media needed something to get them to pay attention to the people they claim to speak for.

Nothing like watching skinny lisping white Antifa’s (or wannabes) trying to race shame blue-collar black police officers. God bless their patience and professionalism.

Thunderbolt repeated the lie that the federal officers are unidentified and militarized. They are identified, and those are their uniforms. He is dishonest because he claims he watched the video, but hasn’t rolled back his assertions.
