Virtual campaign rally you’d think he’d jump right on. Quick everyone type send them back to their country about those senators at the same time. Send them back! Send them back!
No doubt about that! This will be interesting to say the least
I’m not sure if I’m well-informed or not, but I also am not on Twitter.
The scope of the law extends far beyond Twitter and I think it is clearly out-dated. I’m optimistic that all of the government bureaucratic hoops work as intended and keep the outcome reasonably sensible, and hopefully liberty-minded. If everyone’s right about Trump, his intentions and the abjectly terrible outcome, I might consider not voting instead of voting for Trump.
If anyone wants to follow along with the game, I think this is still a fun place to sort out your ideas, if you can forget about Trump long enough to go through the thought exercise.
Remember, 5 more years at most. You also should worry about what happens when Gab overtakes it’s competing social media platform’s market share, and now a cabal of retrograde, Trumpian conservatives are now playing the same games with President Sexy Liberal Model that they are with Trump.
Imagine that, for a moment, and think about this question in a world where Gab is dominating, and don’t forget to use code TWOJAR to get your premium membership.
Let’s start with the gripe and what sort of words you would use to describe the situation.
What would you call the presence of a fact check on one person’s post compared to the absence of a fact check on another person’s post? Same platform.
Be careful with your mind-reading and hypotheticals, @H_factor…
That’s a no-no…
Pointing out hypocrisy is not allowed either, @thunderbolt23.
Try again.
I’m assuming this is directed at me.
And this, I suppose.
You’re free to contrive all of the imaginary scenarios you want. You really are. I just don’t see how you could possibly find it helpful to do so. I get pointing out perceived hypocrisy, but do you think it is helpful or fair to judge anyone, anywhere, on something that never happened?
If President Sexy Liberal Model comes along and produces the same E.O., and angry conservatives descend on the mall with their commemorative Trump Presidency Screamin’ Eagle Model AR-15’s, then you’ll have a point.
Until then, you only have your imagination.
Many conservatives are losing their shit because they’re told to suffer some mild discomfort - wearing a mask - in order to save the lives of their fellow (senior) citizens.
I doesn’t take a vivid imagination to predict how they would react to such “regulation”.
Some are, sure, but it is beyond obvious to me that the list of things to be upset with your government right now can be quite large, depending on where you live. To reduce all of those human concerns down to a notion of “losing their shit over a mask” is not accurate at all.
And it is far, FAR from strictly conservatives who are upset right now for many legitimate reasons.
But you are, after all free to assume whatever you want about whoever you want in whatever scenarios you imagine. I’m not of the opinion that stereotypes area all bad, all of the time.
Just don’t get your panties in a wad if someone comes along and challenges your thought process.
@treco…it’s because Conservatives smoke dope, watch Hollywood Movies, don’t go to Church, get abortions, spend stimulus checks and suck dicks as much as, it not more than, Liberals.
They just try to convince you they don’t
This is precisely why I think we shouldn’t accept the behavior from the President. I’m not any less scared of a President who acts like Trump that’s a Democrat. That’s another reason why Republicans shouldn’t just be ok with this. Because right now the person doing all this they probably think at least still has an R beside him. But personally I will be just as annoyed at Americans if we do this again. The party is irrelevant to me.
Trump tweets horrific stuff, retweets far right conspiracy theories, etc all with no thought. So right now we have to hope Republicans don’t elect someone who acts like this again and that Democrats never start. Trump has control over what he says and types. He just doesn’t give a shit about it.
He would be doing the exact same thing on GAB and he would turn on them the minute they did something that annoyed him just like anyone else. He doesn’t discriminate in that regard. The moment someone angers him it’s total war. My girl was like that at two, but she grew out of it.
Luckily only one side has decided to elect a reality tv star so far. Hopefully we’ve learned that we don’t want to do that anymore, but
They’re a vocal (and armed) minority. How would they react if a new King Obama (Rand Paul’s words) issued an EO “regulating” a social media platform?
Well, besides causing a massive spike in gun sales…
Who?
The guys with AR-15’s? Everyone who is upset?
Who are they?
I’d call it unfair - and 100% perfectly ok in the world of free speech. Good, bad, or indifferent, that’s their speech. The antidote to the unfairness? More speech - highlighting and explaining to everyone why they’re being unfair and no one should trust them.
Those are not ammo vest they are wearing, is it…and is there an AR-15 or two?
And what do you imagine a small business owner from Michigan might look like? I lived in rural Michigan for a couple of years. Those look like people from Michigan. Not my style of protest, but I’m not ready to dismiss their concerns, either.
What was the casualty toll like?
Thank you for this. I will respond tomorrow.
One other note - Trump doesn’t understand policy or law, but he understands the news cycle and every decision he makes is to change the news to something that he perceives as benefiting him. So, he picks a fight with Twitter the moment we hit the grim milestone of 100,000 dead and polls showing disapproval of his handling of the pandemic. He thinks he wins when he fires up the troops to be mad at an enemy. The timing is no accident.
Guilty on occasion, guilty, guilty, not guilty, guilty, not guilty.
