“It felt like I was on drugs,” he said. "I was shaking and I got angry.
“It also had an effect on my girlfriend who didn’t want to be around me when I had taken it.”
Protein rage??
I thought the RD’s comments provided some gold too
Wow that was some crap reporting. Dieticians’s say protein may be bad, supply no proof, then lump all supplements together. Oh and provide an anecdotal report from a single person about supplement rage.
“Although he still takes protein and creatine gym supplements, Richard says he has cut down from seven to four shakes a day.”
Wow, 7 shakes a day, he must have gotten huge!

they sometimes do, but I know what you mean… maybe because they’re trumping up animal protein ![]()
Well, my guess is because you are an idiot? I think they have a name for people like this in England land, it’s “chave” or something.
“It felt like I was on drugs,” he said. "I was shaking and I got angry.
“It also had an effect on my girlfriend who didn’t want to be around me when I had taken it.”
I guess someone had something other then protein in his system cause it doesn’t do that to me or anyone I know. What bad cover. Blame the protein …bhahahahahahahahaha!
Blame the chicken or the steak or the burger bahahahahah!!!
Thanks for posting. I am using this for an opportunity as an intervention for you protein-addicted lug-headz. Despite your bodybuilder dreamz to be HUUUGE your body can only use so much protein in a given time, unaided. You do indeed waste more dietary protein than you can utilize.
The half-lives of actin and myosin are approximately a month or more which means in about 30ish days 75 - 85gms of protein will be turned over per kilogram of lean muscle - assuming muscle is 15 - 17% protein. Of that which is turned over very little of it will be lost as it is re-synthesized into new proteins.
Eating protein above the needs for new protein synthesis will only benefit glucose support which can be a good thing to the low carbohydrate dieter.

What idiot drinks 7 protein shakes a day?

You answered your own question.
I would wonder if even half that much is still excessive.
LMFAO
To me this is just another example of externalization of blame. The dude’s got problems, found a scapegoat, and took advantage. Protein supps get vilified, and the GF is none the wiser to his deep-seated personal issues.
or…
the comment was taken out of context. The way this article lumped DMAA and protein together was really strange. Nothing in this article was well researched. I could definitely believe the dude was talking about a supplement completely unrelated to protein. Plenty of people have adverse reactions to certain stims/test boosters/non-protein-related-supps, he could have been abusing something else, and the article’s author just fucked up.
Either way, I don’t think this load of bullshit would have gotten by my high school journalism teacher. Absolute garbage.

That counts as 3 protein shakes in my book ![]()
The author of that article was great at saying the word “protein” and then immediately talking about some unspecified supplement and it having bad effect. He should be a scientist.

Yeah, I was going to add that’s in 4 shakes, one of them a PWO one.
Hmm. I seem to recall that RV admitted to only getting his protein from shakes.
If you read it carefully:
He has been taking supplements for four years but says he had a bad reaction to one of them.
“It felt like I was on drugs,” he said. "I was shaking and I got angry.
It says nothing about protein being the issue. I’m sure most people who try every supplement on the shelf have had at least one negative side effect.
They just lumped all of it together, making it appear as if it was the protein and/or the DMAA.
Also, who does tricep extensions with an axle? (see first photo in article)
