The Professor X Meme

Yes, I think a few people either don’t entirely understand the concept behind a solid meme or are just using the idea/this thread as an outlet to be dicks.

This wasn’t intended to be an ‘I Hate Professor X’ thread… there’s already one of those. Discussing how douchey some people felt he came across isn’t what I had in mind, at all.

This thread is about a few lines on a picture that humorously capture the essence of his posting style or persona.

See this surprises me. This guy has been so nasty to so many people (and while some of them deserved it, many more did not, not by a longshot) so I don’t understand why, when he gets some back, people jump to his defense.

This is a guy who once referred to someone as “a lesser human” than him. I mean seriously - and everyone else is a hater?

Listen, I liked the guy a lot, but he just got to the point where his condescending attitude in virtually every post just became too much - as evidenced by the massive amount of callouts by so many members here over the past few months. I’ve tried many times to engage him in some honest discourse, but he’d rather make with the insults. And people can argue that his presence here made for a great board, I think lately it reached a tipping point where almost nothing could be said without it being challenged by him. And when that shit happens eventually people do not want to even be bothered posting if every last thing winds up a huge argument, and the board suffers because people are stifled and feel they can’t express an opinion. I’m all for flaming total shitheads and trolls, but the abuse heaped on people asking a simple question was a bit much IMO.

Honestly, if he was willing I’d be the first person to put forth the olive branch - but I know if I did that, he’d just piss on it, so why bother?

Anyway, I don’t hate the guy, don’t wish anything bad on him, and do respect his achievements in size. He’s just impossible to get along with for the most part.

Ooh, those were up for a spell so I figured they were still around. His were pretty decent, too.

still holding out for Shugart to catch wind of this thread

There never was an anti-lewhitehurst thread.

You’re right but I think that’s what it morphed into.

This is Fabulous!

This thread made my day.

T-Nation is pretty much shit without prof x

I can’t really say this place is better without him. I miss reading his posts. Sometimes I’d catch myself just searching for his posts because it was ALWAYS an entertaining exchange.

I can appreciate that you would take offense to him if he directed insults at you but it seems like he directly insulted everybody based on the many responses.

Look - did I agree with him on everything - no. Just like I probably don’t agree with you or anyone else on everything or even the delivery of the information. I just think that having so many people focusing on negative comments makes for a bad forum.

I mean who’s next?

I know I type some stupid shit on here from time to time.

I didn’t say it was better without him. I said as of late, it became impossible. But if he could dial it down a notch, I’d like to see the guy again.

Trust me man, I don’t want to fight with or hate on anyone. I’d way rather come here and have a respectful exchange of ideas and discuss the lifestyle with like-minded people. Back when he was less abrasive about everything, I had good conversations with him about BB - would be nice to see that guy again…

I say this with all respect Lou, but don’t you think he DID insult many, many people directly? I’ve sure seen him do it a hell of a lot.

Nasty is an understatement when referring to how x treated complete newbs on this board.

MaruderMeat on the otherhand is an example of how to act! He is the antithesis of x and an actual acomplished veteran of the game to boot.

Anyway’ why all the concern for a grown man whos persona on this board is on the receiving end of a deserved slagging right now? This is simply a pisstake and nothing more…

LOL he said that to me. I felt like laughing my ass off at his response. The dumb twat implied that he got everywhere in life through his own powers, and through no assistance whatsoever.
He will never admit he is talking complete bollox, which is one of his biggest problems

One time we were discussing Swedish law. I learned that I was too small to do that.

REALLY? NO concern for Sensitive ProfX?

Am Disappoint.

Kind of a weird thread to pop up, seeing as how he hasn’t been on the site in over a month. You guys going through withdrawals or something?
I’ve been a mod since before you even thought about being a mod so why would I listen to you? I’ve studied all the great modybuilders and guess what? You’re not one of them. I bet you even do a total mody routine. Pfff. Listen fool, I’M A DOCTOR. That’s right, I have a PhD in modology and my Mac is bigger than yours. Why don’t you come back after you’ve eaten a few dozen burgers and read C++ for Dummies.

I guess it depends on your personality as to how you see X.

Personally, I thought his attitude helped to keep newbies more focussed, and gave inspiration to those around him

His more arrogant side was just funny and in a strange way endearing. IMO, you accept someone for what they are and be more laid back about it. If he was a scrawny little arrogant teenager, that’d be a different story

Variety is the spice of life; if all my friends were of the sensitive type, I’d get bored lol

i recall asking him why he didn’t squat or deadlift out of curiosity, his reply was some rant about knowing how his body reacted to excersises and that other stuff worked better.
