The Prince of Facebook

Lixy,

This has got to be asked.

What in God’s name are you doing spending SO MUCH of your time & energy self-righteously criticizing the US when your own country is such a cesspool?

Even if your country’s heinousness is irrelevant to the discussions here, don’t you have better ways to spend your time. Like, say, working to change your OWN country?

…This is an American based body building website that happens to have a section for the politically minded. Even if he was doing what you’ve suggested, you wouldn’t see it. Cut him a little slack, jeez.

You don’t have to actively work to change the world to be a good person. Lixy is not somehow responsible for what goes on in Morocco.

Look, I don’t agree with Lixy a good portion of the time, but you’ve all grown this gigantic bias against him and I’m getting fed up with it. It’s gotten to the point where every time he makes a post, with a valid opinion or not, and whether everyone disagrees or not, it breaks down into petty name calling regardless. You all take everything he says to an illogical extreme, and while that can sometimes be poignant, it makes you look overly stubborn at best. Lixy isn’t some asshole out to destroy the United States, and you all need to stop treating everything he says like he’s Osama Bin Laden himself.

This thread has NOTHING to do with the US, or Lixy’s opinions of the US, or anything else besides Lixy’s situation. He is asking what we, personally, would do if we were in his situation.

So I’ll be honest then; I would not return to Morocco. If I was dissatisfied with Sweden, I’d move elsewhere in Europe, the US, or Canada. I would not return to a place where my worth would be squandered. Personally, I might check out a place like the US, where economic freedom is valued. Though, Lixy’s disposition seems like he’d fit in better in a place like Canada, peaceful and semi-socialist (my own, unresearch based opinion of Canada, but you get the point).

Then again, do you think America is perfect, Chushin? No complaints? If you thought it was perfect, you likely wouldn’t be living in Japan.

And have you ever criticized the way they do things in Japan? If you’re like me, or any other gaijin who’s lived here for more than a few years, I’ll bet you don’t get through an entire 24-hour period without finding fault with some aspect of the Land of the Rising Sun.

However, wouldn’t your and my efforts be better spent working to fix what’s wrong in our own country? Assuming, of course, that there’s anything needing fixing.

I just want to know how in the fuck you are going to help put together the new confederacy if you are in Japan watching the God damned Iron Chef.

Didn’t you get the word, Rainjack?

The prodigal son returns next month. I wouldn’t miss out on the new confederacy for all the tea in Tokyo.
Yeah? I’m on the town committee where I live, too. Do you feel like your opinions are valued and heeded, or do you find your role as that of the token foreigner? In my own case, I have taken upon myself the role of rabble-rouser (kind of like I do here, come to think of it), bringing up an uncomfortable truth every now and then when the air becomes too thick with the sound of Japanese people sucking air through their teeth.
5. If I felt the way that Lixy does about his country, it’d make sense that I’d put my efforts there. I don’t, so I don’t.
Uh huh. Well, like I said to Rainjack, I say sayonara to Japan next month and head back to the land of my birth, not because I think America is corrupt and tyrannical (yet… we’ll see what happens following the November elections), but because if something does start happening, I want to be there, not here watching Iron Chef (I’ve only seen maybe two episodes, and thought it was pretty stupid, by the way).

Have you chosen a place in the States?

Nope. Let’s just say I’ve got it narrowed down to about six western states, all of which feature on both the Land of the Free thread and the Montana Secession thread.

Sitting in a tank and killing people who can only throw stones is not brave.

Ok, hedo. Would you feel OK paying taxes to a government that tortures people? Do you think it is morally acceptable to be accomplice with a government that disregards human rights? If I have to give 45% of my revenue to the state, might as well be one that doesn’t abuse people over a Facebook profile.

I haven’t made up my mind yet, but the more I read what is happening, the more knots I get in my stomach. You know, we don’t have guns nor an egalitarian constitution back home.

Here’s more insanity: some time ago, a senile 95 years old man in a wheel chair was convicted for “insulting” the king and sentenced to 3 years in jail. Following an altercation with a bus driver, the police arrested after the driver called the cops. There were no witnesses besides the driver who heard what the insult consisted of, and pleas to the judge to take into consideration his mental state were all rejected. Besides the driver’s word, there was nothing in the case. The court refused to admit psychiatric evaluations as evidence, although the guy has been regularly to a psychiatric facility for years. The old man died in prison Wednesday 13th, 2008.
People all around the world take a stand against the governments and make them change. Some peacefully sometimes not. Other people just give up. Everybody makes choices.

Actually I was a Captain by the way.

You’re telling me this because…you weren’t hero enough to get augmented…?

Did I ever claim to be a commando? Someone who chose to watch from the sidelines? Wasn’t it you who chose to whine from behind a keyboard? Do you have some trigger time you want to tell us about? Seriously you washed out of the Marines didn’t you or so you’ve told us. Sounds like when your call came it was you behind a keyboard. Curious choice of words indeed.

Why do you consider a tank a phallic symbol? Does it make you feel inadequate? I commanded a platoon of them in GW1, hardly someone who cheers from the sidelines fucknut. That’s why I chose it as my avatar. A tank synbolizes strenth and power to most people. Do you it symbolizes a penis??? Wow it says a lot about you but probably not what you think.

Well carry on. My “who gives a fuck meter” is ringing so I’m sure you can wait your opinion on someone who cares.

You were once an officer so at best you are an accessory to murder – not a hero. You’re real brave killing people from a third world country from inside a tank. We should feel so honored…and defended.

BTW, I am a former corporal so I am better than you…sir.
You claimed to be an officer before. You need to get your story straight when you are making things up poser. I told you this because you called me General.

I don’t recall anyone throwing stones at us during GW1 dipshit. It was a shooting war against T-62’s and T-72’s. They have cannons and shoot back…not that you would know since you only pretended to be in the Marines…right. You did here about that war didn’t you. It’s on the History channel all the time.

Actually Armor officers, under the rank of major, lead from the front, especially in an armor vs. armor battle. Command of a platoon means you lead the platoon and command the lead tank. I was a lt. during the war and was promoted to Captain afterwards as an inducement to stay in. Again you wouldn’t know about that would you. But please tell us about you trigger time again would you… might need to go an look up what you wrote before so as not to get your story mixed up again.

The stick figure is supposed to be ironic. Sadly, I do not have any pictures of my former lover like you do.

These Phrogs kick your tank’s ass anyday.
Your picture appears to be of Chinook Helicopters. They are not used in an anti-tank role. Typically deployed to move troops and cargo. Since the US maintains air superiority againsnt most opponents how would they kick my ass again?

They don’t throw stones Rambo. They drive other tanks and shoot AT rockets. You couldn’t even hear a stone hitting a tank if the engine is running.

You would shit your pants and cry for mommy if you saw a
T-72 pointing it’s gun at you. The correct thing to do would be to manuever and fire…see the difference.

Yeah. But would you, in good conscience, pay taxes that you know reinforce said government?
