Thanks so much for your reply. I’ve done personal development and talent development (headhunting) before so I totally understand what you mean by intrinsic and extrinsic. I dare say the intrinsic amongst us go further because they are not perturbed by outside forces and their own internal philosophies and convictions drive them through both in the gym and in life.
I looked up Freedom app. Looks good. I used one on Firefox a long time ago called LeechBlock, but I now run Chrome. For the cost it looks like great value.
I train at a facility now that has similar equipment to you in that they are nearly all Eleiko plates, bars, the DB are fat grip with incremental increases in weight plus pace magnetic pace weights. Ok so it’s the only Poliquin facility in Asia and costs nearly 10 times as much as globogym per month and 4 times more than a specialised gym here but I’m reasoning now that results matter to me, I don’t want to waste time, this is what I enjoy and what I’ll chose to spend my hard earned money on. I’m 34 next month so time is ticking.
I’m now resolved to devote my time towards family, work, gym. Get in early, leave 5to6pm, train and be at home with family and later catch up on any work via emails. Training logs and BOI will be the only places I hang out here. Resolved. Life is filled with distractions that don’t help.

Me is liking this log more and more now. Me thinks you have a good taste in music, and we must share bands with each other. Yes, we shall.

State school in Mass, I’m a guitarist. I’m being trained classically theory wise, and jazz trained instrumentally wise.

Talk me through your ideas on how to train when you don’t have a meet planned in the near future. Do you go on maintenance mode? Still train hard like you are prepping for a meet? Do something more general training style like 5/3/1?
I am in this boat right now and I have constantly been meet prepping for the past year but am going to take a little “off time”.
