He’s thick as hell. What do you feed that thing?

It’s genetics. He eats whatever dog food I buy and he eats meat and veggie scraps with it, but I don’t run him or work him at all. He’s just a big cornfed goofball. I actually need to stud him out again. He just turned 7 and I’d like to keep his blood going and keep a male. He is an unbelievably cool dog.

wow! the textbook pit! epitomizing strength, power, and tenacity!

Thanks man. Believe it or not, he’s even stronger than looks. Some of the shit he’s done is the stuff of legend 'round here. But, as strong as he is he’s actually really gentle while playing with other dogs or kids. Can’t stress how cool he is.

Question: do those of you who own pitbulls prefer them over other dogs? And if so, why?
Yes.

What I love about the breed is their strength, loyalty, drive and tenacity. They are extremely athletic and for their size, insanely strong. You can rough house with them because they have robust and sturdy physiques. Oh and to me they seem to have a noble look about them.
don’t forget the bully breeds are very very intelligent. it is a challenge to own and be a master to such a powerful and INTELLIGENT breed. that is the allure for many people I think. unfortunately, many people who have bullies, are not up to that challenge, thus all the tragic incidents that get a lot of bad press thus the misunderstanding of this breed. I’ve been around dogs my entire life, and am what one would call “a dog lover”. Big, small, bully, rat terrier, whatever. I’m a dog guy. With that, I have a hard time seeing myself own anything other than a pit. They’re the most loyal, loving, goofy and amazing dogs I’ve ever been around. They would literally kill or die for you if your theirs. But, from what I’ve seen they really attach to one person. My 3 only FULLY listen to me, and for some reason my girls dog is starting to mind me more than her. They are alpha dogs, and they respond accordingly. They need discipline and guidance, but done with love. That doesn’t mean they don’t like or listen to others (when they want), it just means they know “who their master is”. They are also super mischievous. If you give 'em an inch, they’ll take a mile. But, while they like GETTING in trouble, they hate BEING in trouble. If you understand the lineage of the breed, you know you have the ultimate people pleaser. Sorry if that was jumbled, I’m typing from my phone.

Here is one of my female Sadie. We rescued her at 3 months, I don’t have any pics of my male but he was a rescue as well. While Sadie is fairly thin Gator is a blocky 78 pounds at about 28" to the shoulder. My wife and I have fostered many bully breeds over the years and I’ve had dogs and bully breeds for the last 18 years or so. I’ve not had any other breed as loyal and focused on their owner/family as the bully breeds.

Here my guy Hank he’s a rescue I’m not sure if he’s pure pit might have some am bully in him. He’s pushing 90 pounds now think he’s around 2 years old.
