LMAO!
Old thread but it seemed to fit here without starting another one.
Meet Cocoa; our 6 month old rescue Pitbull. She is so lovable and goes non-stop. But when she stops, she’s out in 2 seconds and freakin’ snores like hell.
As you can see, she’s already hitting the gym. She carries around my wife’s 10 lb. weights. It’s funny right up to the time she drops it on your toes.

Love her color! She is gorgeous.
Here is my blue, Diesel, he loves to take over my bed during the day and sleep away.

Good timing Doublelung. This is Penny, I found at a crack house bust last week. Where I live and work, pits are all euthanized, which is what happened to her mom and dad. My dad took her in; that’s him in the photo.[/quote]

Nice! How may are you up to? You’re have to be going through a 50 lb. bag a week and if I remember, yours get the high end stuff; Blue Buffalo. We use Iams ProActive. I remember my poor beagle got “Old Roy” dog food, something like $15 for a 50 lb bag.

The pic came through. Freakin’ sweeet! Nice save, Pop is going to keeping her?
Dogs of all breeds are great for parents.

Yep, she’s a keeper. He’s 60 and has type 2 diabetes. Since getting the dog he sat still in for 5 days! Usually we can even get him to take a walk.
My dad is an experienced dog owner but this is his first bull breed. He grew up with collies and cattle dogs, which he enjoyed, but found too robotic. His brother had a few English Mastiffs that weren’t well trained or socialized; kinda put the old man off bulls for awhile.
The great thing about pits is they’re not as stubborn as some of their cousins. They’re also eager to please, quite trainable, and very athletic.

I have 3 pits, a great dane, and an old golden retriever. I am rolling through 50 lbs about every 5.5 days. Especially with it being nice outside and them being so active.
I am feeding them Orijen dog food mostly now and I have been mixing raw meat into the pits food along with providing plenty of bones from a local butcher. They have the fucking life that is for sure. Feeding 600lbs+ of dog… yeahhh lol
Yes, I am spending a fortune on my dogs’ food, but they are still cheaper than kids.

That’s true. With a family of 6, last year I raised 2 pigs for us (400 lbs of meat) Half a steer (250 lbs), turkeys (120 lbs), chickens (80 lbs) venison (160 lbs) and over 800 eggs.
I would have had more turkeys to put in the freezer but Stanley, my older pit decided one day 5 had to die. It was complete carnage, feathers all over the place.

Family of 6 I am assuming are all humans lol? That is awesome. I have been wanting to get into raising some livestock, but I just don’t have the time.
Those turkeys must have really pissed him of lmao.
My oldest pit I have right now turned 4 this year back in march. He has been with my little guy since he was 7 weeks old. They are inseparable. He is extremely sweet, but fiercely protective of my boy. He sleeps with him and follows him around like a shadow.
We had a stray cat wander up while we were outside one day. Josh went up to pet the cat and the cat clawed the hell out of him. I mean got him good, drew blood. The oldest pit is friendly with all animals mostly, but he was a blur and that cat was fuckeddddd. I have never seen him so pissed and violent. He tore the cat in half, literally, and crushed his skull in about 1.5 seconds.
This is him in his bed. Excuse the room, it is a mess. I usually end up sleeping in there with him a lot and I have my desk in there as well to study while he is watching TV or playing games.
It amazes me how loyal and protective bull breeds are to their owners.
I don’t own a pit but have a staffy - cattle dog mix who is highly protective of small kids and women. One night I came home late being on the road from work and my better half was struggling to hold him back from pouncing over the baby gates at the front door to get at me. I never thought that little guy could have such a throaty growl.
Was never a bull-breed lover but I’m not sure if I would look back now. They have some serious personality.

He has that look there like “Did you see the dump I took in the hall yet?”
I have 2 cats and they are just too quick for the dogs. Don’t let the cat lovers hear that story. lol
Nice that he protects the boy, my oldest pit isn’t that way, maybe the younger one will be. Best protection dog I had was a Rottie. That was my wife’s baby. Good dog around strangers but touch my wife and you were getting bit, hard!
