yeah those damn liberal coins…I bet they used kennedy half-dollar
Probably. I hope there’s a realistic hole through it.

she is not a good orator, that ending monologue was terrible. way to crafted and poorly executed to boot

I would say a draw, but it goes to Palin because that’s all she needed to do to “win”.

those are some high standards you’ve got there

I think it was either a draw, or slightly in favor of Biden. In either case, I think Palin needed to blow him out of the water to really make an impact. McCain has dropped in the polls, and I think that her performance didnt really hurt or help him. In which case it hurts him.

Same thing was said about Obama - there is some truth to it, broadly speaking.

Bottom line is that it seemed to me Palin was trying way to hard to get in talking points. Biden was more off the cuff and free form, but being that he is more encyclopedic it sometimes got off track a bit

There was a difference. I think it can be said that foreign policy is the weakness of Obama and Palin both. Obama did not seem out of his depth regarding foreign policy whereas Palin was incoherent and grasping at sound bites. A different kind of “draw”

Are you shitting me? I kept changing the channel because all I saw was Biden spewing talking points.

CNN is wildly spinning this as a Biden win.

all politics are full of talking points, I was referring to her being scripted and him being interactive.

I give it to Biden.

Prior to this debate, every pundit around was saying Palin needed to validate herself, and Biden needed to not be a condescending jerk. I only saw one of those happen

Her being scripted? As if they both weren’t?

I pay more attention to substance and not style.

By having several conservative commentators who say that Palin was effective in mobilizing the conservative base and defending her image, and several liberal commentators who point out that she didn’t give relevant answers to many questions, CNN is wildly spinning this as a Biden win?

how can you say she had any substance? She couldn’t even address bankruptcy questions and had to grasp at more energy

Maybe. Probably. Definitely not a landslide, though. She held her own. She certainly didn’t implode.

I just cannot stand Biden so I may not be a neutral observer.
I actually like Biden and also thought it was a close to a draw. Even though I disagree with Joe on most things but he is also the guy, off of either ticket, that I would most want to have beer with.

Neither one of them did any harm to the ticket. Overall it was pretty boring. Both seemed to wander off on to their talking points rather than answer the question asked. They both stumbled through some things as well.

There were times, for both of them, that I was unsure what they were trying say. Joe came off a bit bitter at times railing on bush. Palin had one too many “golly gee wiz” moments for me.

You think she didn’t submit relevant answers to many questions?

Really?

Okay. Don’t expect the undecideds to agree with you.
