The Next President of the United States: IV

This was my understanding the whole time:

"Mr. Trump’s policy director, Stephen Miller, said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal on Monday, “The best way to prevent continued radicalization from developing inside America is to suspend temporarily immigration from regions that have been a major source for terrorists and their supporters coming to the U.S.”

“When pressed by reporters for details on his national-security policies, Mr. Trump said he would block immigrants from “countries with great terrorism.” Muslims from Scotland or other parts of Great Britain “wouldn’t bother me,” he said.”

Here is the article:

And the first thing you learn if you spend any time around war or those who make it – or read basic military history – is that in order to pull off the latter you must achieve the former. Either way, your “hugs” line was bullshit, and it obviously mistook empathy for sympathy. Empathy isn’t about fucking hugs. Sun Tzu and Patton weren’t about fucking hugs. Go read them if you care to understand this further rather than misrepresenting reality for the fun of it.

Sometimes the world is simple. Some things are true and some are not and this thread is a very compelling testament to the extent to which people are capable of deluding themselves into believing that lies can be truthful so long as they are told for the “right” reasons and to the “right” ends.

It doesn’t matter whether this is horseshit, because it accurately reflects how I feel in my stomach. That right there: that is the problem. That is the underlying condition. That is Donald Trump. Luckily, it’s going to fucking lose, and I’m going to enjoy the shit out of watching it do so. That’s all I’ve got to say in this thread for a while.

Ya, his stance has softened to a degree, but he’s flip-flopped so many times, not unlike his chief rival Hillary Clinton, that it’s difficult to know what he actually intends to do.

At any rate, I am fine with and, depending on the details, of course, could support a travel ban from certain states, given enough reason to do so, for the sake of national security.

Assange says Russia was NOT behind DNC hack

Wow. Assange said no and Breitbart is reporting it? Irrefutable. Extensive forensic technical evidence and motive be damned.

I don’t trust Assange any farther then I can throw him. But it’s something I guess.
It still doesn’t subvert the fact that the DNC was trying to [i]influence[\i] the results of the election. The fact of the matter is that we don’t know that barring DNC leanings, that Bernie wouldn’t be the nominee. … ahhh if only the republicans were more crooked we would not have to deal with Trump.

I’m just pointing out anti Trump people here are so certain the Russians are behind the attack based on circumstantial evidence. It’s far from certain who did it

Agreed.

Fill space with stuff

“Last week, William Binney, a 30-year career official at the National Security Agency turned whistleblower, revealed the unthinkable. Binney, who devised the software that the NSA has used to capture the contents of emails and cellphone conversations of all in America but resigned from the NSA because of the unlawful and unconstitutional manner in which the software was used, told a Philadelphia radio audience that the DNC hacking was most likely done by NSA agents.”

Judge Napolitano has some good observations on this.

There’s this gem, “WikiLeaks - the courageous international organization dedicated to governmental transparency”.

Without that, we would have never seen the subversion of the DNC and their primary process.

Did you even read the opinion? There’s a bit more then Assange/Wikileaks referenced in it.

The article has merit. This isn’t some journalistic clown on the outside trying to get in. This guy knows the system.
Further investigation is needed, I agree. The Russian accusation seems suspect to me. It was awful quick.
If they did it, I will accept that, but at best we don’t really know.

What we do know is that the contents of the emails should concern you, whether or not you are in the tank for hillary, preserving integrity in the Democratic process is arguably more important.

There’s a tiny part of me that wishes the republicans subverted trump. But the process does need to be fair and legal even if it gave us a trump- Bernie election.

Why doesn’t it bother you that the DNC tried to manipulate the primary process? This is corruption and if the republicans did it, the media would have exploded with corruption accusations.
But, no matter how hard the media tries to bury the story, it doesn’t go away.

No almost about it. Trump is too busy with revenging himself against petty slights to make hay out of the perfect scandal shitstorm to ever hit a candidate .

Put Mitt Romney in his shoes, and he’d already be picking out drapes and bedsheets for the Whitehouse.

EDIT. Replied to Drew instead of SMH, I am a dolt.

Authorities are bound by the burden of truth as much as layman. Regardless, a decorated legal career doesn’t necessarily equip one with expertise for foreign policy and intelligence.

P.S., I’m genuinely amused by your write-up of my background.

I wouldn’t hire Napotilano to defend me in a traffic ticket case, but to the point - it’s not entirely clear who hacked. But Napolitano doesn’t have any better a handle on it than anyone else.

I have supported a company that works closely with CrowdStrike - one of the technical security companies that found forensic evidence that the tools used by the hackers had been confirmed to have used by Russia’s GRU and FSB in the past. From what I’ve been told by technical professionals that specialize in security in both the public and private sectors, their findings are the law enforcement equivalent of a unique murder weapon that had been used to commit another homicide. The technical evidence leads us to conclude that we have a serial killer on our hands.

In addition to the technical evidence, the motive for the theft of the DNC’s internal communications is compelling. Russia stands to gain a geopolitical windfall if Trump wins in November. If Clinton wins, her ability to conduct domestic and foreign policy will be impeded by the disunity created by the DNC documents coming to light.
