Don’t mistake confidence for arrogance. Guy’s full of confidence don’t have to constantly remind you to “trust me”, or “believe me”. Guys full of confidence readily hand over the reigns on topics they aren’t as educated on. Guys full of confidence don’t lash out at others for every perceived slight against them. Guy’s full of confidence don’t routinely lie to make themselves look better in the public eyes, and in the rare case of making a mistake and lying, admit so.

Again, it’s the foul mouth and braggadocious behavior that fools some into seeing Trump as a confident person. You aren’t going to see someone with the personality and name recognition again to get away with such preposteries.

In a country where we prize the freedom of the press, where we have a rich tradition of spoofing our political leaders, the guy with “the best temperament ever to run for the office of President” is so offended by SNL sketches that he wants to shut down the show and sees it as part of the media conspiracy against him.

Believing Clinton and Trump are equally bad choice is no longer a tenable position

Luckily we don’t have to decide who is a worse choice. It is sufficient to recognize both as horrible choices for the presidency.

The position from day one has been that a GOP controlled congress can hold Clinton in check. It is well known that either of the two candidates would start their presidency as the most despised candidate in victory. Let Clinton have her four years while we build stronger majorities in 2018 and control all three branches in 2020. The exact opposite happens with Trump, with the added concern that his liberal ways come out in 2018 after we lose congress and the near certainty that a Trump presidency would pave the way for 2020 to be another 2008.

A Clinton victory is just a punt until Trumpism is gone a forgotten.

More than his foul mouth, is his threat to turn the system upside down. And after seeing the level of corruption we are dealing with, there is reason to suggest that the system needs to be changed.

Sure, his foul mouth is red meat for some, but if he spoke gently about undoing the system, both establishments would come after him the same as they are now.

Honestly, from this standpoint I am astounded that more dems aren’t voting for Trump. They don’t like Hillary either but could sacrifice this election for 2018 and 2020. I’m just glad the thought hasn’t occured to them.

Well, you are part right, if unintentionally so - Trump is a confidence man.

But is he confident? God no, and only a tool would think so. Trump is a deeply insecure man, and he projects to the world that insecurity.

I give him plenty of credit - he’s a very good marketer, and that is the reason he’s had what success he has had. I qualify him as good, not great, because so many of his projects built solely on label (Trump steak, Trump vodka, etc.) should have never gotten off the launch pad.

But we aren’t hiring a marketer-in-chief - we’re hiring the chief magistrate of the most powerful country on earth and the commander-in-chief of the armed forces.

He’s not qualifed for either. Use your brain.
