The Next President of the United States: IV

Also, one other thing - you keep attaching graphs without providing the link you found them on. Go ahead and attach the link - I want to read the full context, not just what you cherrypick.

What do you think we should call illegal Mexican Aushwitz?

TB,

You’re more than welcome to come here, where the county is 29% white, want to take a stab where we rank in taxes, regulation, gun control, education, poverty rate, etc ?

I find the change in EC proportions of the states interesting
Shown are 2016 and 1916

Trump thinks so. You mean like government sponsored maternity leave?

“relocation camps”

Worked in WWII.

Not cool. Not cool at all…

You don’t seem to complain about anything except for the presence of immigrants where you live. One of the great freedoms in this country is the freedom to move. To vote with your feet. Why don’t you just move somewhere that is more to your liking?

AH!

I know what the problem is, TB.

Max has a weakness for all those illegal Cholas walking around!

That’s not much of an answer TB. The point I was making was democrats using immigrants and their voting pattern to enact their agenda. Once Liberals have enough SCOTUS judges on the bench, it won’t matter where you move to. You will need more then your feet to move, you will need a plane ticket.

At least the sight of the American flag didn’t trigger you. Over the weekend, a 9/11 Memorial at nearby Occidental College was trashed due to it causing a microaggression against a bunch of snowflake students. This made my blood boil, because the administration won’t do shit about it.

I don’t at all disagree. All things being equal I prefer that the government butt out and lower taxes.

My question is just as to why, with all the concern about childcare and maternity, if my wife and I prioritize our children and adjust our life so she is available to take care of them, we aren’t allowed the same government subsidies as someone who chooses to pay someone else to raise their children.

So, what you’re saying is, we should act like liberals?

How do you know the provision wouldn’t be written out that way? My post was in jest about refundable tax credits, but they are ‘refunds’ even when no tax was paid. Or more correctly - welfare subsidies.

If you have chosen the traditional mom at home arrangement - I applaud you.

You’ve answered your own question. Some people “pay someone else” to care for their child(ren) so they can continue to work. You don’t, that’s great, but that isn’t the purpose of the law.

You’re essentially saying that you should get a tax break on services you don’t pay for and paid for leave you don’t have to take. One is a supposed to be a benefit that you pay for via taxes like social security (which I disagree with) the other is nothing more than a straight redistribution of wealth (which I really disagree with).

FWIW I agree with Alrightmiami19c and I benefit from the dependent care exemption ($5K/year) and would likely benefit from a maternity subsidy in the future.

Yeah, I get your point - my point is, CA is particularly anchored in one direction politically, and since you don’t like it, you should exercise your freedom to move somewhere that suits your political tastes.

And enough with this “liberal SCOTUS gonna destroy the country as we know it” poppycock. It’s pure histrionics, and it’s based on a lack of understanding of what SCOTUS actually does. SCOTUS isn’t going to set national liberal policies in the way that dishonest right-wingers are trying to claim.

Rumor on how Trump would fill SCOTUS vacancy:

No idea if it’s true, but I wouldn’t be surprised in the least.
