He is an idiot with idiot supporters (every one of them). He will never be president, and he is dooming the GOP, though the GOP deserves this entirely for having created the conditions under which a nescient, conspiracy-theorist clown has so many fucking cretins from whom to draw support. Hillary Clinton’s presidency is being hard won by the Right, and all the misery come November will be deserved (and, for my part, relished).
Not even close to true. But no bigger doofus ever sat in the Oval Office than the current one’s immediate predecessor, the worst president in modern American history and an idiot of the lowest order. And while we did survive, we did it to the tune of trillions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives wasted in a war justified with utter mendacity and carried out to our abiding international chagrin. I have already explained exactly how and why ISIS would not exist today had W. Bush not needlessly fucked American security interests for decades.
So yes, these elections have consequences, and the bigger the buffoon the greater the possible damage. Given that Trump is a stupid buffoon like we have never before seen, the stakes are higher than high
You mean to tell me that with all of your scholarly reading that you can’t tell the difference between a factual piece written to inform and a sensationalized piece of garbage?
Hayden is as experienced as they come. He is concerned with Trump’s complete ignorance of international affairs and national security policy in general and his vows to order U.S. personnel to grossly violate domestic and international law. The only sensationalized piece of garbage is this discussion is Donald Trump.
He is experienced. You don’t become the head of the CIA without being able to dish some world class bullshit. Besides that what is different between Trumps “bomb the shit out of ISIS” statement and what we have been doing?
A cop out if I’ve ever seen one, and assuredly an attack against the man rather than his argument. A logical fallacy, to be sure. Age doesn’t convey advanced knowledge of complex social phenomena. Painstaking application and study does. The 29 year old political scientist probably knows a bit more about politics than the 60 year old dilletante.
To be clear, I am not insulting you. I am, however, disappointed that someone of your intellect is so quick to circumvent a reasoned argument, levy an unqualified ad hominem, and then attempt to obfuscate what you just wrote.
Again, a retired four star general that has held multiple top level positions in the intelligence community. And he’s full of shit vis-a-vis the nescient buffoon that is Trump, you say?
I don’t know. One is proportional and discriminate. The other is calling for torture “so much stronger than water boarding” and the deliberate targeting of civilians. Both are gross violations of domestic and international law. Both would be wholly counterproductive to American security interests.
Why should anyone take anything that Trump has to say about international affairs or national security policy seriously? He has shown time and time again that he doesn’t have the faintest understanding of the rudimentary basics of the disciplines. Have no earthly idea what the nuclear triad is and you want to be POTUS? You formulate your defense policy based on “the shows”? Get the fuck out. Those who support such a fool, both sycophants and true idiot believers, are deserve blame and ridicule. Those who tolerate Trump also share responsibility in the slow suicide of the GOP.
Think about that: this grotesque, pathetic, know-nothing dunce wants to be CIC…and has never even fucking heard of the term that has described the fundamental configuration of nuclear power for decades. Furthermore, he is too stupid to figure it out from the context…and too buffoonish to wing it in a way that might obscure his utter ignorance. It’s the same story, again and again: ask Trump about policy and he mutters incoherent gibberish like an adolescent with a learning disorder, then goes home and starts tweeting like a tween girl looking for a 3-a.m. catfight.
Agreed although I think he will take more of a populist approach over what is considered politically moderate. Basically whatever the flavor of the week is among the masses he will capitalize on. My objection to voting for him in a general election however isn’t so much in fear of what he’ll do as president as it is the fear that he will mark the end of Conservatism as we know it in mainstream politics.
That aside, I in fact do want to see Trump as pres. for the simple reason that he will make our entire political system look like the joke that it is- A bunch of lying, stupid, lazy assholes that suck tax dollars like its a crack pipe. And that is both parties. The only difference is what they lie about and where they throw the money.
The entertainment value mostly. Who else can you think of that should be king shit of turd mountain?
And to watch it all play out on the late night comedy shows should be great! Jimmy Fallon should be quivering in his pants at the idea of four years of Trump. If he knows what’s good for him he should start pumping for Trump like there is a well of cash on the mans butthole.
