Yup. Agree here and I know people the same way. I personally believe that most drugs are over-prescribed anyway, and those that aren’t prescribed are overused. That doesn’t mean I advocate government jailing people for using said things.

I think on a simple developmental biology level that it is better for people to avoid using psychoactive drugs (unless needed for management of a disease or illness or something) until their brain has fully developed (circa 21-24 years old). However that doesn’t mean that I advocate the government force it upon people. I’m also not dumb enough to think that teens will do everything they should or should not do. They’re teens. I don’t think occasional pot use is dangerous any more than I think occasionally smoking a pipe or cigar or cigarette is dangerous. As always the danger is chronic heavy use and addiction.

Besides, what fun is life if you don’t have a few good vices? :)
Having done my fair share (not LEary levels mind you) of LSD and to a much lessor extent mushrooms and X, that shit is useless. Yes it puts an “!” on your life for a few hours, without a doubt, but it ultimately isn’t anything worth the bad times.

Anyone that says they haven’t had a bad trip hasn’t done enough to have an honest opinion. Bad trips are like a nightmare within a nightmare. Inception level 3 horror.
Agree with your last paragraph, as my worst experience on X had me sick in at the Pimp N Ho costume ball in Vegas.

Half naked girls that were 9’s and 10’s walking around, and I’m puking my innerds out from too much “!”.
I’m going to go out on a limb ad say that shit was doctored… pure MDMA is extremely unlikely to cause nausea (from its chemical profile) in the amounts likely to get you high. I suppose it is always possible that you are a hyper responder though.
Either that, or the fact that I took 3 pills at once rather than just one. It was my second time taking it so I was still new to the scene. Human error is a most neglected factor when looking at the potential dangers of drugs.

I’m not sure what was handed to him. Once again, I wonder what Zeppelin would have accomplished if he had been born into the same situation as W.

*Zeppelin, notice my use of a period to punctuate my statement.
*Zeppelin, when you are stating that you “wonder,” you should not end the sentence with a question mark.

Yes, you are the only one who thinks that.
No, I think W. probably does occasionally color books instead of reading them. In fact, I would bet on it. Zeppelin, thanks for confirming that you are not W. in this sentence(I’ll assume that you intended for the group of words to be a sentence, even though you didn’t include punctuation). Without being him, it would be hard to know that “W. colors books instead of reads them.”
You are correct. I do not know for certain that he colors books instead of reads them. However, the converse is also true.

First we can start with “the deciders” merit-based Yale education.

I could give you 100m dollars tomorrow, and the Vegas odds would be you being broke in under 10 years.

Given your ridiculous rhetoric on this board, I’m taking the under.

Yes, you are the only one who thinks that.

And conservatives are the only ones who thinks he is smart. They need to rally behind his stupidity because he somehow represents them. It must be so embarrassing!

Former President George W. Bush is objectively intelligent. He received a BA from Yale and an MBA from Harvard Business School. A handful of rhetorical gaffes during public speech acts does not change the fact that he is a highly accomplished and resourceful individual. How does your curriculum vitae compare?

What’s the deal with Carly Fiorina?

And the best part is, he got into those schools just like everyone else.

You know, by never making the honor roll and boasting an SAT score of 1206 (566V/640M) prior to applying.

I, for one, am certain that his acceptance had nothing to do with him having attended a prestigious preparatory school with a Yale alumnus and President of the United States for a father.

I think that there has recently been a number of individuals with a lot of money who somehow think that is all it takes…and BOY do they tend to dump a lot of their personal money into it.

Organization…a strong, grass roots base…a strong network…and yes, somewhat of a popular appeal are AT LEAST as important as a lot of money.

Also; if I’m not mistaken, Fiorina’s message is primarily economic.

She won’t make it through the GOP Primary.

I happened to see her on some Fox talk show Sunday morning and was curious. Her message appears to be economic to me as well. She apparently dislikes Hillary quite a bit…

This is the first I’ve heard the name so was just curious what others know about her. It is kinda funny that earlier in the thread I jokingly threw Marissa Miller’s name out there, Carly Fiorina at first glance appears to be very similar.

Legacy is just a part of how Ivy League schools work. Bush didn’t go to that prep school for very long (a few years if memory serves). Being book smart and being intelligent aren’t the same thing anyway.

He was able to merge his middle of the road company (the he started) with another company setting himself up with a solid career and consulting practice. He was able to turn a $600K investment in the Texas Rangers into something like $15M. Then he became Governor. Then be became President.

His successes are proof enough of his intelligence for me.

I don’t think the math works out that he’d in college while 41 was POTUS.

He graduated from Yale and Harvard prior to his dad become VP if I’m not mistaken. He was accepted based on Legacy.

Yeah, I get that. I’m just pointing out that taking a swipe at someone’s schooling, and trying to insult their intelligence while doing it, using a statement that is ridiculously false is… Well pretty fuking funny, in a “that really destroys your entire position” type of way.

I know it’s wiki but:
Yale 64-68
Harvard 73-however long it took him.

Seeing as HW didn’t get elected POTUS until '89 looks like the entire point was utter bullshit then. I mean, 41 wasn’t even in the House when 43 started college. 41 was Chair of the Republican party when 43 got into Harvard… You know right around when Nixon was going down and republican brand was in the shitter, so I guess Harvard of all places folded to Republican pressure (lmao) and admitted 43.
