The Next President of the United States: II

Who ultimately cares about Jeb being President, he can at least structure a complete sentence which is more than I can say for his bafoon of a brother, but nothing of substance will change. He still is a representative of the elite class as all of the candidates of the 2 parties are. So screw the majority. You and I will see nothing that will benefit us.

It’s funny you say this… I’m not a big 43 fan, but I would bet a mortgage payment his reading list makes looks yours look like a toddler’s book shelf.

I’m going out on a limb and assume you’ve never accomplished damn near anything close to that which he has…

But you know, your masters tell you to call him stupid, so you do.

Is this the sentence with which you have chosen to attack another’s ability to properly communicate?

People still respond to Zeppelin795?

“Bafoon” is clearly a portmanteau of “buffoon” and “baboon”.

I’m currently reading a book written by 43 about 41. That in and of itself is an accomplishment most will never achieve.

I’m a fan of 43. I don’t agree with all his decisions, but I’ve always admired him.

I think more and more people are coming around to this view. The claim that he was a semi-literate “baffoon” aas nonsense. In another anecdote, I believe he and Karl Rove (maybe?) had a standing challenge to read a book a week - and that was while he was in office.

I disagree with many things Bush did and believed - the prosecution of the Iraq war, the near theological belief in the magic of supply-side economics, just to hit the big ones - and I thinj he will go down in history as a middling president, but he is a decent man who suffered unfair and idiotic slanders during his term.

And to not be too guilty of derailing the thread any further, I hereby claim that George W. Bush will not be the next president of the United States.

I object to his participation not on the grounds of the contents of his posts, nor even of his co-opting of the name of one of my favourite rock bands of all time, but of his choice of avatars.

A post by Zep means I have to see, even if I don’t want to, a pair of fat, flabby, fleshy, squishy bare buttocks in gelatinous motion on my screen, which puts me in a foul enough mood, even before I read the post itself, which is rarely worth reading anyway.

I have become accustomed to thinking of the avatar as the ass out of which he is talking.

This is basically how I feel about him and his presidency.

I’m reading 41, a personal account of the life of George H.W. Bush written by George W. Bush, and a handful of things have really hammered this sentiment home. For example, one of the first things 43 says is something along the lines of, “someone will one day write an objective and impartial history about my father. This book will be neither.” That’s the type of thing a decent stand-up guy would say.

Next in my reading this is [i]Days of Fire[i] for a more objective look at his presidency. I’ve read Decision Points and thought it was worth the read.

I couldn’t agree more.

I still think, email scandal and all, it will be Hillary.

If I had to bet money, right now - knowing what we know about the weakness of the GOP field - I agree. But I think this scandal will get worse before it gets better, and potential Democratic rivals will start getting frustrated and coming off the bench to challenge her as it gets worse.

Looks like Rand Paul will officially throw his hat in the ring on April 7.

He’s going to lose his Senate seat and the presidency then… If I remember correctly, his state legislature, majority Democrat, wouldn’t change the laws about simultaneous campaigns.

I’m too lazy to google it right now, but I think I’m correct here, lol.

I think the latest on that is that the Kentucky Republican Party is agreeing to a presidential caucus, which apparently clears the way to run for both. I am sure there will be a dispute over that when the time comes.

I hope so, but I also don’t want Martin O’Malley to end up being President either.

What is the story with that guy? From what I have seen, he is trying to position himself as a technocrat, but I know little about the politics in his neck of the woods.

I won’t try and give a thorough analysis on O’Malley. For one I don’t follow MD politics that closely and two I have a poor opinion of the guy. All I know is that his policies drove business’ out of MD, Baltimore is a heavily taxed cesspool of a city, and gun control in MD is out of control.

Let me put it this way, there have been something like 10 republican governors ever in MD’s history and we just elected one to replace O’Malley. My uncle, a retired government worker and die hard democrat, voted for Larry Hogan (R) as opposed to Anthony Brown O’Malley’s hand picked replacement and Lt. Governor.
