But it’s weird, I forget what they call it when you base the vast majority of your argument on hyperbolic numbers that are immediately refuted, debunked, and corrected by 90 seconds of fact-checking.
I agree with this sentiment 100%. The actual data is what matters most. Thank you for helping to highlight that.
For a forum with the word “testosterone” in it, this is the most catty responses from a forum “director” I ever could have anticipated.
As a brand ambassador there were probably a lot more level-headed and objective ways to handle this.
A guy with some marketing knowledge shared some thoughts that you didn’t like and some were more grounded than others - boo hoo.
Rather than behaving like I made a personal attack on you, contemplate taking a breath and looking for the areas of improvement (and remember you represent a once badass brand of guys who can probably tolerate some constructive criticism). You don’t need to be so butt hurt about it. Read a customer service book or two and think about your role in the company as more than a sassy debater.
I miss the days when TC was around to keep things productive. Or so many of the other guys who took off. This is extremely unbecoming.
You really must be a marketing guy, because that’s one hell of a spin on “invented some numbers, got called out on it, and has yet to admit that the majority of his arguments were flawed from the get-go.”
To be fair, I also clean up riff-raff, make the occasional witty post, and edit thread titles.
My screenshot was unedited (yours was - it cut off the margins where ads are if you want to talk about making shit up). That wasn’t invented pal, but you don’t want to acknowledge it’s existence and that in some form I’m actually correct.
As for the ads in articles? Take a look at the home page at this moment and it’s not a <20% advertisement rate for Biotest, that’s for sure.
Where am I failing to admit was “majority” wrong on?
Granted I don’t spend what I used to with you guys, but I’m obviously not the right guy for this company if you’re still comfortable in your stance and actually think I invented anything.
I always wanted to support Tnation because of my roots here but honestly dude, I can’t do business with a company fronted by a guy as insecure/triggered as you on principle.
Of all the things you managed to do here the only concrete takeaway for either of us will be that I won’t contribute to your company’s revenue again.
Best of luck with things Chris. Seems like you’ve got some stuff to work out.
“the fact that literally about 60% of the homepage is nothing but advertisements is pretty wild.”
“The site now has 50% of the screen devoted to ads”
“whereas articles used to occasionally plug products it’s as though each one plugs several products every time.”
“Even the forums being monitored as aggressively as they are; it’s a movement that is in total contrast to the paradigm shift that the world is currently experiencing.”
“I think it’s fair to say that the advertisements occupy at least as much space on my screen as the content”
“As for my comments about plugging products - yes, my comments were hyperbole. But nevertheless, I can say it’s been dramatically more than it ever was”
These are the claims you made and I believe I’ve addressed each and pointed out why they’re wrong. It doesn’t get more simple than that.
I’m personally a fan of voting with your dollar everywhere, so you do whatever you’re comfortable with.
