The Never-Too-Late Tattoo Parlor

I keep sane by writing down and posting my feelings/experiences, and then promptly deleting the post. You, apparently, were one of the lucky ones who got to read about my day today.

What do you do K?

lol. sorry if I wasn’t suppose to see it. :frowning: im at work and bored.

im a NOC tech who yells at people profusely to get circuits/networks fixed. sad how solid our network is, but everyone else sucks… since a lot of my aggression is over the phone, and can’t stick my fat finger in their chest, I beat myself up in the gym. works well for me since I gain a PR pretty much every training session. love the built up anger. lol

btw, do deadlifts tomorrow, and use your frustration to nail a PR.

Yay for DLs!!!

I somehow caught the post of your day. You are an amazing lady with everything you do. Plus kids/husband? Wowie!

Koub: NOC is an acronym I don’t know. Spell it out for me please? Sorry your job is so frustrating. But, it also sounds like it works well for you in the gym. Training is a good outlet.

Dasher: I deleted my work rant. This is a training log. Sometimes I dear diary it up with other things in my life, but then feel uncomfortable, and go back and delete. And as far as the kiddos and the hubby go-- They give back more than they take–I is lucky.

Training 5-3-1 DLs.

I really considered setting these over because I’m still sore from gymnastics and I wanted/needed a strong DL day to make up for my last one.

It’s frustrating going into every workout a little beat up, but the alternative is to give up something. And I’m not willing to do that. So, after squats on Tues, I went to gymnastics with tired legs on Wed. Rested Thursday, but still not fully recovered I DL today with a sore upper back. Tomorrow, I have a long run and a lift strong bike ride, and I’ll do those at something less than 100% too. But, it’s all just training.

DLS

bar x25
Deficit dls: 165x3x5
Working sets:
135x5
165x5
185x3
210x10 (+4 rep pr) I was happy with this.

NO heavy singles. Time to work.

BBB 155x10x5

Have I mentioned how much I hate BBB. The trick is to focus on one set at a time. Never look ahead at the sets you have left to do–that’s as dumb as someone with a fear of heights looking down. But that’s what I did today. First set done, and my mind goes, “Oh no, you have 4 to go.” And then despair. And the “I don’t think I can” or “How am I going to do 4 more sets” thoughts creep in. And then I started thinking like the cardio bunny that I am. Fuck. 4 sets. That’s what 2 to 3 minutes of work tops. You big fucking baby. You can push hard for 2 minutes. You can do anything for 2 minutes. Then I killed them. Sweet, sweet victory.

HLR BWx25x2; BWx15x2; Bw10x2=100!

GHR 7,5,5 Will post video.

I’m not sure if (a) I’m doing them right and (b) where I should set the foot pad thing.

Ok these are with the foot pad farther away. …

These are with the foot pad closer. I like farther away better, which probably means closer is better?

oh boo! I missed a rant. I keep a separate paper and pencil journal for that exact reason.

Yeah, BBB sounds tough. When I did the GVT stuff, i could barely get through it.

Nice work on the DLs. Fuckin’ A! 210 x 4 is where I left off a year ago. I know you just pulled it, but what’s your max again?

I had the same foot pad issue when I did my GHRs and I ended up going with what felt like it used my hamstring more. lol! You have some strong hammies, no less. Weight those bitches!

Oh, and i love your smile

And thanks for looking out, will up date soon! Just checking in on everyone.

NOC = Network Operations Center

pretty much if anything goes wrong with internet, or servers, it goes through me to figure out what is exactly wrong, and fix it, or have the right person fix it. shit is confusing, but learning every day. I went to school to be an Athletic Trainer/CSCS. lol

BBB is a bitch, but I love the pain it gives. I like your mind set. Will have to try that approach. before I just did them with a lot of anger.

very sweet

Nadia…The videos of you are insane, this is all new to me & I’ve never seen anyone with enuff core strength that they could hang from a bar & do that, I keep watching it over & over, it just floors me.

Sorry about infiltrating the ladies thread (I assume it is anyway), I was have’n a look about the site & was curious.

This is interest’n stuff, ya’ll keep up the good work.

I think closer is right/harder(better)

or else it just turns into a back extension.

They tolerate guys as long as we clean up any drool puddles we create and act with manners.

But… If you go into Charlie Horse’s log, you do have to wear just the robe you’ll find in the locker room and wave the pom poms when she tells you to…

At least that’s what Edgy told me.

Ryan Smith, the chiropractor and elebenty other things hes certified in (lifts with us on saturdays, tate and ted and mollys doc, too) helped me a lot with my GHR’s last year.

we ended up setting my foot pad so that only the balls of my feet are on it, and i’m driving my thigh into the pad (i wear pants or longer shorts generally, so it slides).

but damn, im jealous that you have a GHR and jealous that they look so good. I have an awful video of me tryin to do em on a lat pulldown at my local.

very sweet :)[/quote]

Yeah, just gotta come back in and say, this is the truth! Those last 2 minutes (of anything) are always fucking killer. Its just 2 minutes, but it feels like an eternity.

Sweet victory indeed!

Masch: I’ve pulled 265. But the last time I maxed out I could only do 245. So, I dunno? Hopefully, I’m not going backward. You’re right, I do need to push those GHRs a bit more. But they make my hamstrings cramp and I hate that!

I know 2 minutes can be an eternity. But sometimes instead of sets or reps or miles thinking of the task at hand in terms of minutes or seconds helps. It’s just a mind fuck. What was cool about yesterday is that the instant I changed my mindset my performance improved dramatically. Usually, I think my head holds me back. But, not yesterday. And it was a great.

Koub: NOC living NOV. That works. I’ve used anger to get through my BBB sets too. But I find that anger is generally directed towards Wendler–as in Fuuck you for dreaming up this bull shit. I hate you. And because I internet love him a little bit, that feels like a betrayal. 5-3-1 has been very very good for me.

Thanks frenchie.

Fox fire: Thanks and Welcome. Stop by anytime. But, as you spend more time around these parts you’ll see HLRs aren’t so special.

Mim: Thanks for the article link. I remember reading that one and learning that I had been doing my GHRs wrong. And of course, closer is harder is better.

2busy: No pom poms or love for cheerleaders in this log. I was raised by a father who over the course of my entire life said, “Play a sport, don’t cheer for one.” Never, never, never could this daddy’s girl ever be a cheerleader.

Cbear: You’re jealous of me? silly girl. You get to train at elitefts. I get to buy their equipment and put it in my family room. But we are lucky that we have the space and the resources to invest in a home gym. Over time, especially as the kids get older and want to train too, I’m sure the investment will pay for itself.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Training: 8 mile run. I thought about my parents–both used to be runners who can no longer run–and I imagined how they would run if they had a chance to be in my body as strong and healthy as it is. And I let go of myself. I can be pretty demanding of my body. But, don’t doubt that I appreciate it.

After that we did a charity bicycle ride.

I was not implying you were a cheer leader! I was just playing off the “implied” attire for the MEN visiting CH’s log.

Sorry, I assumed you had read her log entries and saw the little exchange Edgy and I had about proper attire there…

I’ll go hide back in my log of solitude.

2busy: I read Charlie’s log. I understood the reference. I was simply trying to say that I value the support and encouragement of teammates, other goal-orientated people who train with purpose, not cheerleaders who stand on the sidelines. You’re cool. With regard to attire, I’m quite good with buttons and zippers. But, I’m also happily married. Pants are required.

I had a spin guy that used to say this. You can do anything for 2 fucking minutes. I rely on it for those last two minutes of a lot of things.

Fuck pants.

and for that matter, shoes.

I am a smidge late on this, but a big pat on the back for the 4 rep PRQ!
