I’m guessing this is for all the people outside the US.
I was wondering what kind of stupid problems have other people had with the customs in their country. Any horror stories to share?
Last week I ordered 2 HOT-ROX bottles and 2 Spike packs. I went through the local prescription drug list quite closely (I’m in Finland) and found that the ingridients were not there. So I ordered the stuff confident that there would be no problem.
But I was’t paying enough attention and skipped caffeine and guarana. Who would categorize them as prescription drugs if they are sold in every damn convinience store, right? Well, they were on that goddamn list. So customs didn’t give them to me… because they had caffeine in them… I am quite grateful that the goverment is watching out for my best interests.
I am also starting to think that the EU or atleast the Finnish customs have something against US shipments, because they stop every damn one. That, or they just want to tax everything to death. I’ve even been forced to make it a christmas tradition to spend 2 hours at customs filling out papers and paying taxes for christmas presents coming from the US…

Is coffee not allowed in your country? It’s caffine[/quote]
Yes, its allowed. Caffeine and guarana pills are sold everywhere. Hell, chocolate has atleast 3 ingredients that are listed as prescription drugs under Finnish law, yet its quite legally sold here.
I am guessing its somekind of a monopoly scheme. They allow only certain companies the right to import them, which would explain why supplements here can cost double or even triple what they cost in the US.
A buddy brought some Protein tubs to me here from the US.
He was visiting and lugged 8 tubs with him (he’s over 250lbs and single digit BF%, so it wasn’t work…lol).
Well, when he gets here, I giddily open the duffel bag he used to carry them, and it turns out that customs opened each tub and dumped it out into the duffel bag (at least they didn’t dump it on the floor…well, maybe they did…lol).
So we had a multi-flavored shake each time.
And this place only allows 1000RMB (about 120-125 USD) worth of supplements to be imported for personal use. Too bad I can’t open my gym yet…

You can’t raise hell about them opening your shit and dumping it out? That is pretty fucked up, I’d be calling everybody associated with customs for that one…even if I didn’t accomplish anything I’d do it on work hours to take up some of their precious time.

The country that uses the RMB isn’t exactly known for having the most customer service oriented government.

haha, it appears you are correct…I guess I’d just have to bend over and take it then. Oh well, at least the OP has my sympathy…that’ll get you far =)
