The Man In The Cellar

What a day. Started at 230 in the morning, when my eyes opened, brain turned on, and both would not shut off. From there, went on a short run at a snail’s pace (didn’t want to leave the trainee), and spent the rest of the day fighting sleep. I lost around 2 this afternoon, as I was sitting in my chair, unconscious. Nice lil line of drool making its way down my chin to my lap. Not a good look at all.

It was around 3 when I came to. One Monster, a fat-burner, and a bottle of water later, I was motivated to take care of the days work, then get to the gym. Fast-forward to the gym, and my new favorite person was present. I couldn’t help but laugh as they were undoubtedly there to work their chests, as well. And yes, this would be the same person who felt I was getting too big. The looks on his and his partner’s faces were priceless, as I started my session.

Mmm…yesterday was pretty “off.” Overslept, then dealt with a bit of a clusterfuck all morning, then when it came time for work in the evening, I found that my body required a bit of rest. I deadlifted 405 extremely easily, however, I just did not have the drive, intensity, focus, energy to do as I wanted. So, erring on the side of caution, I cleaned up, then left. Probably a good decision, as my shoulders and chest are still smoked, then there the issue of DOMS in my legs. Had to chuckle at that one.

So today, I was actually happy my trainees did not show up, as I seriously did not feel up to the 10 hill sprints I had scheduled. With the unplanned free time, I just worked on a series of neck/back bridges, some ab work, lots of stretching, squatting, then some light work on the heavybag. Depending upon how I feel this afternoon, I will probably do the deadlifts then. I’m looking forward to this. For some reason, I’m hoping two specific dudes are present when I begin. One being Rico Suave…I just genuinely don’t like him and he provides some decent motivation; and the other one calls himself “Muscle Gains.” I shit you not. He looks the part until he takes his pants off. Huge, and I mean that to the fullest extent, upper body resting upon a laughably small lower body. The only leg-work he does are bodyweight calf-raises between his sets of triceps pushdowns. It’s so said that even a small, average-looking LT began clowning this dude. “Gains” admitted that he needed to put work in on his legs, and I told him he needs to get under the bar and squat. This was back in January. He’s yet to do so, however, he saw fit to enter the gym one night just to see “who’s in here making some gains!” Yes. His words, not mine. He instantly stole the “Negro PLEASE!” award from the sergeant major who commented about my size.

For now, it’s time to actually do some work. Gotta be just a little productive today. Until tonight, all.

Today was kind of an okay day. Pretty chill throughout. Didn’t deal much with the boss, as he was out on a “mission”, then just disappeared for the rest of the day. I was pretty content with laying low in my tent, knocking out some little things and fucking off. About the only thing worthy of mentioning is a proposed plan to hold a PL competition. I laughed at this because judging how a retardedly vast majority of the guys here “lift”, it’d be nothing but a partial-rep-fest.

Then, those that would actually do a full ROM rep, would only be able to compete in the bench press, as barely anyone squats or performs DLs. I offered to assist on the condition that we go full ROM. I probably won’t compete simply because I wouldn’t lose. That alone would keep others from competing. Sounds egotistical, but it’s the simple and plain truth. Besides…I think I would enjoy being a dick and making everyone do the shit RIGHT!

In the meantime, here is tonight’s work that I will pay for this weekend.

That did the trick. At this point, I could REALLY use my fave masseuse to walk on my back! I started to do some pullups, but my forearms and biceps rebelled…furiously. I stopped.

For now, it’s time to do some more writing.

Hey Beast! I had to laugh at your description of Mr. Muscles with his overdeveloped upper body and no legs. Why do so many guys do that?

Nothing like a surprisingly good reminder to really get the blood flowing hard enough to send you running to the gym. Yes, with a gratuitous amount of energy, I was more than ready for what lay in store.

MiM- Yep, I’m stationed in Germany, and I am really looking forward to returning. For me, it’s not as “frantic” as it is in the states. And it’s pretty there. And I’m going to have lots of good and bad things done to me, and I’m going to do lots of good and bad things to Bre. Figured I’d save her the trouble! :stuck_out_tongue:

Puff- Yeah, we have many reverse-pyramids walking about. It’s sad when you can NAME on one hand the people who work their entire bodies. Of course, this led to an argument regarding whether or not squats and the leg press do the exact same thing and are equal to each other. Low threshold for ignorance.

LMAO about Muscle Gains and the prospect of a PL comp there. I have never understood why some men don’t think that leg training is important. Hello, those are some of the most important muscles when it comes to pleasing a woman. Biceps curls will do what?
