I am getting really bored with my current training set up, I can’t wait to start training with Josh Bryant.
I am seriously excited to see what he’s going to cook up for you. I honestly think that if you train with him for two twelve week cycles you’ll be pushing 5/4/6. I have the much confidence in him (not so much in you though. lol jk <3). I really want to see the Nine Day Work Week thing him and Chad Smith are doing together as well.
I agree with you, those are my goals for next summer, hopefully there will be a meet at a convenient time and place that we can both get in on.
If all goes well with this upcoming training cycle, which I have a lot of faith it will, then I will either hire him for another 12 weeks immediately following, or possibly wait and have him do 12 weeks for me leading up to a meet. You are a fucking mind reader knowing I was planning on probably doing more than one.
Edit: Oh yeah and thanks for your confidence in me.
Ehhhhh, hate to say this but at this point I don’t see myself competing with you this summer. I’m planning on taking at least a year and doing bodybuilding-focused work. I’ll still be trying to bring up my numbers on bench, deadlift and front squat though so I guess the plan can always change. If I can start back squatting again I might switch gears back to powerlifting. Sweet inconclusive post, Sid!
Yeah, the reason Josh Bryant seems to be so good is that he keeps his guys injury-free and lets them reap the rewards of his training. If you can sustain your gains from two cycles with him you’ll be in great shape. Another guy I think would be great for you is Brian Carroll. He’s been doing offseason (raw) squat cycles for people and has been getting great results. Offseason gains are usually sustainable so it sounds awesome.
You are a dick, it is alright I have a way cooler friend that wants to compete with me next summer, he also is strong as fuck and can squat 6+, so take that! But yeah that is cool, getting swoler is always fun and is a good change of pace to keep you interested and progressing. Just don’t give your abs a nickname and we’ll be good.
For a while my training setup has been kind of “powerbuilding” oriented so I will be interested to see what kind of gains I can get out of doing something more devoted to just increasing my powerlifts.
