The Joy of Soy?

Anyone check out that website someone posted (notmilk.com). They are a bunch of Soy freaks. Probably bring some rage to TC’s life.

Damn. It’s amazing he can list so much information stating that soy is BAD, and then just conclude that eating soy is GOOD. Whoah. I’m the first to admit having a small amount of soy in your diet is probably not going to cause problems (though I’m not taking chances), but that was a seriously messed up essay.

There is some value to this essay, so I’m not going to bash the author. They seem to be a soy advocate, but I feel like they are giving a good look at the debate and site multiple resources. Whether or not I agree with what they are saying is irrelevant. In viewing the research from an objective point of view, I will continue to avoid soy while waiting for more research to be done. Nothing is conclusive, and we probably won’t know how this bean truly affects us for years down the road.

In conclusion, I still won’t buy soy or allow my breast-feeding wife to consume it. I don’t allow my kids to eat it either.

I am going to search the site for anything other than soy for prostate and cardiac health in regards to men. My guess they won’t have anything on t-levels

i actually like soymilk, and used to drink it occasionally. I avoid it a little because of the bad stuff I heard about it, but now I mostly stay away from it because whenever I drink soymilk or eat a soy protein bar, I have terrible, terrible gas for the next two days. Much worse then whey powder gas.

You know why soy milk tastes good? They add sugar. Yet another reason to avoid it.

I admit I used to like it ‘back in the day’, myself. Then one day I was wondering “why does have this sweet flavor?” I looked at the lable. Bingo. Sugar.

Try unsweetened soy milk some time. While it’s not nasty, I think you’ll find the reason soy milk tasted “good” was because it was sweetened.

The prostate issues and T-levels are related. If they don’t have anything directly stated, check their sources for info.

I’m living, breathing proof of the evils of soy consumption from birth to young adulthood. Soy Isoflavones are pure evil. Not enough is known about the impact of soy, so better to avoid the stuff, IMHO.
