In all fairness, plenty of people who weren’t Muslims were apologetic of such (re)actions.
‘‘Well if you go around offending people and their beliefs, what do you expect?’’
‘‘Poke the bear with the stick…’’
‘‘They disrespected a whole culture, they had it coming’’.
There were also Muslims who spoke against those terrorist acts. If they are an exception or the rule I cannot say for sure, even if I suspect the latter.
I think this is an effect of how in the west, some seem to have added Muslims to some sort of minority bucket. Saying negative things about a minority’s culture / religion is against the rules to this group.
First let me quote what I have already written in this thread on this topic, which has some relevance
Correct, except we consider all of those to be Islamic prophets. Islam is submission to the will of God
Technically “Islam” finds it offensive to depict a giraffe. I mean the perfect Muslim would, I’m too numb, blind, confused for that at the moment. So that’s pretty much a yes
To my understanding the Islamic ideal on such a thing is to be bothered by it immensely, but to still respond with the utmost patience
Well In fact, that was word for word, my dads proposed solution to the middle east many many years ago and I don’t disagree with it either.
I really have no love what so ever for those that get all up in their own shit and start chanting “Death To America!” and other similar nonsense, and I don’t mince words or try to obfuscate the fact that if and when any group presents a threat to the US, at home or abroad, they should be eliminated.
I don’t take threats lightly. I take them literally.
Hope that clarifies any misunderstandings on my position and thoughts on this subject.
@squating_bear I’m not in the business of engaging in theological arguments, but I am in the business of engaging in practical ones.
You live in the USA, correct?
If my assumption is true, are you considering moving to one of the many Islamic theocratic countries that can be found across Africa and Asia?
If not, why not?
Let’s set theology aside for a moment, and get on to the practical considerations. If you value a society that tolerates different religious views, different political ideas and different social priorities, you should value living in a secular, western society. If you value those things, you belong on team Israel, which is also team Western Civilization.
If you value theological purity, there are many nations that share those values that you could be living in right now, and they are all very unlike Israel.
Edit: I didn’t intend to make it so black-and-white, but I guess I just did. I realize there’s a lot of room for good faith disagreement. I always do my best to maintain the assumption of good faith when discussing issues that are guaranteed to cause disagreement. You’ve gone out of your way to argue controversial points in good faith here in this thread, which has helped make this an interesting thread.
I don’t consider for there to be any Muslim countries today. There are countries with Muslim majority populations, and they have laws informed by Muslim philosophies - but they are not outright Islamic
I might move to one of them, no plans currently however.
I value all of those things, I live in the USA for now. Maybe a bunch of traveling if I make it to retirement, maybe I can have the best of both worlds
Stop arguing with the Muslim. It’s pointless. They believe in a false “Abrahamic” religion that post dates the life of the real Christ/Messiah, Jesus by approximately 600-700 years and very clearly plagiarizes from known false texts such as the Infancy Gospels of Jesus and other gnostic texts which happened to be prevalent in the areas where their false prophet was believed to have lived.
The Koran cannot survive actual literary criticism in the way that the New Testament scriptures can. I have a video posted below that is a great watch for anyone that would like to challenge whether or not the New Testament scriptures have actually been corrupted. The fact is, that from an actual historical and literary critical scientific standpoint the New Testament scriptures are THE most well attested and preserved writings ever, in history, period. Actual scholars all agree on this point. Whether you choose to believe they are the inspired word of Yahweh is your decision, but the fact that we have the words written by the prophets and apostles is basically indisputable from a scientific standpoint.
There are many severe issues with Islam. It is a religion of hate and deceit, created by a psychopath, likely under the influence of assistance of a demon. Here’s a hint, when Yahweh, God of Israel, the true God, sends a messenger/angel to a prophet that messenger doesn’t strangle them in a cave and yell at them to Recite! Recite!
If you would like to learn more about issues with Islam I highly recommend these videos from Jay Smith:
If you would like to hear an actual expert discuss the veracity of the New Testament scriptures I very highly recommend this video. It’s long but it’s very engaging and informative:
I will also say this, almost all Christians (and especially those in the West) have completely lost the thread of the real message of the Bible. They have an extremely corrupted worldview and cosmogeny that has been derailed by Hellenistic/Platonistic or Roman or Naturalist view of the world which was not held by the Jewish prophets and apostles nor any of the early people. Hellenism in particular led to silly philosophy such as Platonic dualism and a false idea that the physical world is evil and tht there is a separate, static “heavenly” realm that everyone should be trying to attain to through enlightenment or death or whatever. The fact is that if you actually believe the Bible it is very clear that Yahweh created all of creation which consists of the Heavens (plural) and the Earth. One contiuous, connected, dynamic, time-bound, physical creation. In the Hebrew this is very easy to read and understand as such. In English translation, these things are obscured by translators who unfortunately have their own preconceptions and preconditions imposed on the translation. God made a physical world and he said it was “very good”. Adam and Eve brought in sin and the creation was subjected to a curse. When the messiah returns the Heavens and the Earth will both be cleansed and renewed. All people who have ever lived will be raised up for judgement and those who are found righteous will inherit Eternal Life here… on the Earth… forever. The Messiah will rule on the throne of David in Jerusalem, ethnic Israel will inherit the Holy Land from the river to the Sea and the nations (righteous gentiles) will live on the remaining parts of the earth. That is the actual Jewish hope and Jewish Apocalyptic eschatology.
The “Church” (which is an anachronistic term that does not even exist in any biblical scripture) has attempted to completely divorce itself from the Jewishness of the scriptures. In many cases, church people think they have replaced Israel. Or that these very clear covenantal promises to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David have somehow been “spiritually realized” or are being brought forth by fallen gentiles who are the church. Reformed, Catholic, Dispensational etc, all have major major shortcomings in explaining the Bible and are in large part to blame for the confusion of the masses when it comes to Biblical teaching. When the Bible is viewed through a Jewish Apocalyptic understanding it is very easy to understand and does not require insanely complicated hermeneutics or made up events such as the 'pre-tribulational rapture" or “realized eschatology” etc. Dispensationalism was a partial move back towards the Jewishness of scripture but fails massively in trying to explain two different eschatological means of redemption for the church and Israel. And also falsely thinking that the Church will spend the age to come in heaven while only Israel stays on the Earth.
These are very complicated subjects because of the two millenia that have passed between the lives of Jesus and the Apostles until now. There is a lot of baggage attached to these viewpoints. I attend a local church and it is a struggle to try to explain the very clear Jewish hopes and beliefs of the scriptures to christians that have been indoctrinated into false views. However, I do believe that people who are faithful to Jesus will be saved when the judgement happens. But, I also believe that many will not respond to a false gospel about floating around in heaven or other things that are not true and I also believe that when the apostasy happens during the intense persecution that will precede the return of Jesus many people who do not have a clear understanding of the glory of the age to come will not hold on to the false hopes that they have been told in churches and they will not withstand persecution and will lose hold of eternal life.
If you would like to understand the Apocalyptic Jewish message I very highly recommend this book and this podcast. Start at the beginning with the podcast.
Keep in mind that, like mathematics, logic is cold and heartless.
If you are to call logic as one of your core values, if someone asks you a “yes or no question” and you believe it is a fair “yes or no question,” your reply is either a “yes” or a “no” and absolutely nothing need be added, nor should be added. Adding anything to your “yes” or “no” reply suggests that you are qualifying your answer. This isn’t being logical. Now, if you don’t believe it is a clear, fair “yes or no question,” state that and that you cannot give a “yes” or “no” reply.
Logic is cold and expresses no compassion.
Are you too young to recall the TV series Star Trek which had two characters of opposing values? The cold logical Mr. Spock and the passionate Dr. McCoy (Bones). They were constantly at odds with one another. They had very little common ground.
Casually talking about killing people is fundamentally a problem. Have you no empathy?
Everyone is a son or daughter of a mother and father. Ending a life is a serious thing, yet you’re talking like it could even be possible, as if there were a Hamas vapor that could be sprayed on the world that would kill all Hamas members and leave everyone else untouched.
Wiping out Hamas? How would one go about such a thing?
In the last 20 years, how many innocents have American funded bombing killed?
What is the collective collateral damage of Karma that each of us carries as citizens of the USA? How much suffering has been caused in our name?
Your line of thinking is incredibly dangerous.
It could easily be pointed right back at you and used to wipe you out as well.
I would be very careful about what I wish upon other people that I know nothing about.
“…on board with wiping our Hamas?”
That’s like one of the stupidest things I’ve yet heard. It’s blatantly one dimensional.
These things are complex, beyond what any one person can comprehend, and to suggest that eradicating a whole group of people would solve anything is just infantile as well as psychopathic.
Do you got roid-brain?
You’re focusing on the puppets.
Who are the puppet masters?
Our focus and concern should be with those who are playing sides off one another and propagandizing a result.
First, look to the very creation of Israel. How was the family De Rothchilds involved?
How did the De Rothchilds obtain their wealth?
How was the Federal Reserve System formed?
How does the UN play into all of this?
What roll does the WEF take.
How does all of this distract from the economic collapse, the mass death from COVID shots and the plays being made to take your wealth and liberty?
These things are complex.
More than I can know.
All I know is that killing, war, death and suffering does NOT SOLVE A DAMN THING!
Stop thinking that it would.
People like you are crazy, I’m sorry, ignorant. You always ask the same tired, predictable, programmed questions. Here’s a question for you: address the creation of a Palestinian Arab nation. When did this happen? If it did happen, and good luck proving it, how did it happen? Who was behind it?
You’re a genius. Here I was thinking that killing children was a great hobby to take up. Oh, let someone break into your home to kill you and your family, then decide if killing wouldn’t solve your problem.
