You may be a troll, but it seems like you’re working very hard in the gym. I hope your nutrition is up to par and then you’ll shift your body composition and become a better athlete for sure.

Thank you. And as far as my diet, heck, I highly doubt I even reach more than 100 grams of protein a day. I have no interest in being bigger… Nor do I have the genes for it. lol. It’s all neuromuscular coordination for me.

Interesting. You may see even better gains if you tighten things up diet wise too, though. Just look at those Chinese lifters and of course, your avatar. Filling out their weight classes quite well.
Just a suggestion! Wanna race to a 400 pound back squat btw?

Yes, of course. I’ll be attempting it next week. What about you?

I’m probably a month or two away from 400 pounds on the back squat. I’ve hit 140 kg (308) for 5 breathing reps. and have done some easy singles at 150 kg.
But it’s a big goal of mine and I will hit it before the end of the summer for sure, no belt, no wraps. Do you mostly do front squats?

I will be doing front squats the next few months, or even years of my life. I’m currently following Abadjhiev’s principle of spending energy only on the lifts that I care about… So yeah, front squats all the way. Daily max weights… No switching of exercises unless I test my max or something…
06,03,2009
Front squats (ATG, paused, stance is slightly wider than shoulder width)
205x2
225x2
235x2
265x2
265x2 (second rep failed)
265x1
265x1
265x1 (As far is I remember, this is how my front squat training went. There might be slightly less singles though.)
Snatch grip deads (grip problems but still a PR. I did heavy doubles and singles.)
Press (I experimented with some weird technique)
45x10
95x1 (Failed… I experimented with some really weird lifting technique… Definitely one of the stupidest things I’ve ever done in the weight room ever…)
105x2 (I kept on doing these weird things.)
135x2
145x1
145x1 (failed! Performance DRAMATICALLY dropped. It’s either I have severely over reached, or that weird things that I tried drained my energy… I dunno, but just to make sure, I’ll drop these for two weeks… maybe not, I don’t know.)
Looks like you’re working hard and walking the walk.
Keep mind that a reduced gripping ability is a sign of neural fatigue/overreaching.

lol. Yes, I agree. But I don’t think that my gripping weakness is due to over reaching. I’ve always struggled to hold this weight (245 pounds) whenever I’m snatch gripping it… Plus, I won’t be using any straps so I’ll just let my grip get stronger… Anyway, for my log entry:
06,04,2009
AM session (during weight training class)
Front squats (ATG, paused, stance is slightly wider than shoulder width)
195x2
225x2
235x2
265x1
265x1
265x1 (definitely an easy workout. I think I’ve hit the “sweet spot” as far as proper volume and intensity of the “daily heavy sessions.”)
PM session (6 pm)
Snatch grip deads (as usual, I could barely remember anything about this workout and my grip is definitely lagging!)
185x2
195x2
225x2
245x2 (second rep failed due to grip issues)
245x2 (same as the first work set)
245x2 (same as the first work set)
06,05,2009
Front squats (ATG, paused, stance is slightly wider than shoulder width)
205x2
225x2
235x2
265x1
265x1
265x1
Snatch grip deads
245x2
245x2
The annoying thing about the grip issues on my snatch grip deads is that it’s never consistent. It’s either my left hand fails, or my right, sometimes both.
06,06,2009
Front squats (just the usual)
Snatch grip deads (can’t remember)
06,07,2009
Front squats (the usual)
Snatch grip deads
245x2
245x2 (No more grip problems!)
06,09,2009
bench press max out day (we were supposed to max out on weight training class. I figured “what the hell. I’ll just play along.” even though I’m not qutei sure if I am fresh.)
45x30
(Practice) 135x3singles (I did three types of BPs and had my friend check which one goes up the fastest… and then boom. I now know the proper groove.)
205x2
225x2singles (I was planning on doing 2 reps, not two sets, but on my first rep, it was weird, I LOST MY GROOVE!! The lockout felt like a mile away. I had to stop and reset. 2nd rep was alot better… I figure that this should be my final acclimation set cause I have somewhat wasted energy with the crappy first set.)
275x1 (failed miserably. It only moved 3 inches)
230x1 (pretty explosive.)
06,12,2009
All I’m going to say is that I attempted 405 pounds on the squat (wide stance, low bar, bare minimum depth) and failed. If i would’ve make it, I would’ve been on the board with the school records. The record was 425, 405, and 392 at the 198 weight class, and as it turns out, I weighed in at 197 which is pretty sweet (I thought I was 202).
lol. It was an epic fail. I couldn’t even budge the weight by an inch once I started ascending.
I also did some DB rows afterwards.
Both 06,13 and 06,14. (2009 of course…)
Front squats (ATG and such…)
-worked upto three triples at 265
Snatch grip deads
-two doubles, zero grip problems
Press (deload mode. ar 06,14, performance regressed dramatically again. I need a really long break.)
06,15,2009
The usual stuff. Except no press…
06,16,2009
the usual stuff, except no press.
06,19,2009
VOLUME PR!!
Front squats (ATG, paused, stance is slightly wider than shoulder width)
45x10
205x2
225x2
235x2
265x2
265x2
265x1
265x1
265x1
265x1
Snatch grip deadlifts
265x(6 singles… I tried for a 7th set, but my grip failed at the top.)
06,20,2009
It sucks. I may have to deload
Front squats (ATG, paused, stance is slightly wider than shoulder width)
45x10
205x2
225x2
235x2
265x2 (second rep failed)
Snatch grip deads
265x1 (failed. Grip gave in)
265x1 (success… but I said "screw it, I’m gonna deload.)
You seriously attempted 405? Are you kidding? According to your log you never ever train with over 300 pounds on squats to begin with. How on earth was your body going to be ready to handle 405 pounds when you never expose it to 300 pounds? This should have been common sense.

I can’t believe you couldn’t figure this one out.
THERE’S A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ATG, SHOULDER-WIDTH STANCE, HIGH BAR BACK SQUAT WITH A PAUSE THAN A LOW BAR, WIDE STANCE, PARALLEL SQUAT!!!
The difference is astronomical.
wow… I’m sorry dude, you disappoint me.
My 405 ATG, SHOULDER-WIDTH, HIGH BAR squat is disapointed with your astronomical fail. Unlike you I axtually trained to the point where I could squat that much instead of assuming that a technique change would add about 130 pounds to my squat. If you always squat with a high bar ATG stance (which I prefer and am in favor of) you won’t be used to a low bar wide stance. I know the difference and have used them both. I disapoint you? Your just pissed that your fool-proof routine didn’t do jack shit for you and you probably looked foolish when you got stuck in the hole with 405 pounds on your back.
And just to be clear I’m not trying to bash you about the amount of weight you lift, I’m trying to point out how incredibly flawed your training is.
Flawed training? The dude has read and posted 90% of the olympic lifting articles EVER written! He knows more about lifting than ANYONE! Can’t you people see that!
