The Gravity Wars!

I stopped the fast yesterday at 3pm. I made it to 95.2kg so 2 kg in 12 hours but 2.4kg in less than 4 hours after last meals. Mentally I just didnt feel like it (read meh snapped).

I am really happy I did. I ate, I slept for 8 hours and woke up looking insane and feeling a ton better.

Woke up 96.2kg and I will avoid carbs today and see where I end up. Good couple of tests and not too much suffering.

I have some errands to run…groceries and bourbon shopping :smiley: and a ton of mobility work done through the day to not get tight.

I am such a bum, I have tried every bourbon I have available to me and there are some decent scotches I havent tried available and I usually end up sticking with cheap bourbon. Partially I know what I like, partially I am never going to be a connoisseur anyways and mostly I am just cheap. At best it ends up on the rocks and usually it ends up in Diet Coke so it really doesnt matter.

This brings me to my newest one part series “How to Gentleman Bro”.

If you are paying for it, do what ever you want to it. You bought that $300 bottle of scotch mix it with cranberry juice for all I care. (You do owe it to yourself (and maybe the crafts people who made it) to try it neat, with a splash of water, on the rocks and with mineral water before going the cranberry juice route though.)

But if somebody offers you something they enjoy, be it an alcoholic beverage or even sushi you try it how it was intended first. Dont slather it in soy sauce or coke out of the gate. #MyWifeIsNotaGentlemanBro

Then if you want to ruin it it is up to them to not offer you any more.

Even to this day the first sip out of any bottle of whiskey I buy is neat, even if it is Beam that I have had several times. And I always try the Sushi rolls before adding Wasabe and soy.

My usual order of drinks goes:
Bourbon or Rye neat sip (that I rarely enjoy because it is usually cheap)
Add Ice (That I always enjoy)
But by now I am feeling it and switch to Bourbon and Mineral water or Diet Coke depending on what level of resuscitation I need at this time.

Hahaha its the mexican in me. Everything down here is X plus Mineral water.

I almost bought Makers, went with Buffalo Trace because I have only had it once or twice. Makers was my intro into Bourbon but it will be my next bottle unless I see something I haven’t seen down here before.

SICK FUCKING MOCK MEET

Luis and I both hit Squat and Deadlift PRs and I matched my Bench PR but the prior was reds this was whites.

I also went 3x-2x-3x body weight and 9 for 9 and my 3rds were chosen very well. All three 3rd attempts were good and grinders.

I also didnt deviate from my first 7 scripted attempts.

Luis had a super shitty bench. He hit his opener and lined up wrong and hit the rack on his 2nd which he said would have been a smoke show. So we actually didnt know what to do and then he missed 275 for his 3rd. He has missed 275 a few times.

Despite that he hit 1035lbs and his goal was 1k.

Yea so I know some people do whiskey and deads to lower inhibitions but that wasn’t what I would consider my issues…in hindsight is/was exactly my issue. the reason I wanted to do this was Swoleesi said she took a shot of whiskey to turn her brain off. THAT is my issue. Sooooo I came very close to bringing some whiskey to the gym but chickened out. But we took a break after bench to walk to the liquor store and since we are south of the border I bought tequila.

I would have taken the tequila sooner but my deads went pretty good but last attempt #YOLO

On the plus side I look awesome…on the down side I feel like death. Sleeping through football games is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Despite being hungover AF and never wanting to drink again this is something I am thinking about. This mock meet kind of became a chore but it should have been the cherry on my sunday…but I dont like fruits on my desserts. On the flip side of that I am also considering going the opposite route and going balls out to see how much I can total. Balls out for me means no weight limit (but lean), longer time table (4-6 months) and almost definitely more drugs.

For now I am going to continue on my Prep as normal but I have no goals.

If anybody knows of Raw and untested Federations please post them. I know google is there but I have had a harder than expected time finding them.

So far I found 100% Raw and WRPF.

IPL has an untested division. Then there’s GPC, GPA, WPC, IPO and that’s just off the top of my head. Most feds don’t test.

I made it through 90% of my workout today which is huge. Squat form was great and my Front Rack is coming along very well.

Diet: Currently finishing the rest of the junk food in the house…
But normal diet:
4 Eggs
600g Chicken Breast after fried (~800g raw)
100-300g Salmon or Beef if desired
100g Oats
2-3kg Potatoes
Papaya as desired

Somewhere in the 3000 to 4000 calorie range.

Not really limiting calories but keeping it clean and I expect to lean out a bit. Cheat meals on Monday but no sugar and if I need a higher carb day I will do Rice and Veggies.

My bench reps capacity is laughable. Shoulders held up better than expected.

I have leg DOMS for the first time in I dont know how long. I kind of missed it.

We are going to a Beach Club in Cancun supposedly. Sofi’s friends are hilariously annoying when it comes to punctuality. I wonder if they know the party is over when the sun goes down?

We went to the Beach club, I napped got some pool time then I drove home on some shitty ass roads in the rainy dark with the 2 douchiest Semi Truck drivers I had ever seen.

That wasnt the bad part. Something about these seats after about 10 minutes my back was on fire. It was so bad that my entire SI area was numb with pain. Kind of sore today.

My back was already a bit pumped from Monday which I know was from weak hamstrings (partially intuition and partially because I tailored my warmup around that and it improved greatly). Going forward I am going to lay off the Quad work and hammer hamstring stuff.

Looking decent but today is an off day. High carb day tomorrow and I will be going hard on those veggies.

FUNNY MOTIVATION
Soooo our Torreon friends dont do anything but go to clubs about 3 nights a week. Well apparently when we went to the beach none of them would take off their shirts after Sofi or I did. Sofi is now motivated more than ever to stay in shape because she doesn’t want to end up like that or go back to that life. She also knows it is my huge fear that I will revert to my old ways in Torreon. It will make any battles we have going forward in regards to our health that much easier. We dont really battle with it anymore anyways. She gets tired at the clubs and with in 10 minutes of eating something she know she shouldnt she has a tummy ache.

AM Measurements 95.6kg and 93cm waist. Not looking super crisp but I am loving the weight drop. Probably going to rebound because our friends left today and left us with a ton of shitty junk food and I justify this with it is a high carb day anyways. I am definitely hitting the gym again later though for Biceps and not sure what else.

This volume is nuts for me. My first working set is more volume than I was doing in a week.

There is a really strong chance I move all deadlifting to Saturday. I am just too tired after Squat work to dead (although death would be an option).

Deadlift + Pull Workout that I love

Downsides:
More heavy days across the board
But it’s light weight baby so not so hard on the ole CNS for now
Rules out drinking and watching my Saturday football games…not like I do that anymore anyways

I strategically plan drinking days around my training. Anything I care about needs 1 day cushion before and after. So right now I train the Big 3 on Monday-Tuesday-Thursday-Friday. This leaves Saturday as my only eligible drinking day. This strategery is the biggest reason I dont drink anymore…but 1705 total and counting and I can drink when I am dead…or retire from PLing to BBing.

I do have a loophole though. If I can get a nice long nap in before drinking this is acceptable. My other loophole is green magic plants.

How do you like doing back squats first and then front squats? I’ve done this, but I feel like my fronts always REALLY suffered because my back was so fatigued.

For me Fronts are way easier on my back (and my mobility in general) but also I basically think of Front Squats as a Quad Extension that works so they can suffer all they want MWAHAHAHAHA :smiley:

(Despite being pretty sure science shows the difference in muscle recruitment being negligible from Fronts to High Bar to Low Bar)

Then we bought a bunch of groceries and snacks I only feel half guilty about eating. I am going to save them for foo…MY TEAM HAS A BYE!!! So I guess I will just eat them when I want to feel half fat.

NEW DIET:

Rice Veg Chicken eaten before Workout #1
Post Workout will be veggies and chicken with maybe some potatoes mixed in if needed

Its about 3200 calories before the potatoes. The rice seems to give me better energy but I do still want to lean out a bit. Because so many of my days are heavy now I won’t be carb cycling…except Sunday might be a low day.

VIDEO GAME UPDATE: RetroArch is a computer moron’s nightmare. It’s right up there with Poaching eggs and Brain Surgery.

So it looks like Steam is the best Virus free option and I should find some cool games. And a bunch of free options so I can test it first in the very likely event that after 12 minutes I realize I am too old to do things requiring hand eye coordination, fast thinking and reflexes. #POWERLIFTER hahahaha

AM Weight 96.4kg and 93.5cm but looking a bunch better having some carbs. I havent felt like I was starving constantly so I actually had leftovers and basically everything I am eating today is leftovers. After eating rice preworkout and now stuck eating leftover potatoes I can definitely say that rice is superior to potatoes or anything else I have eaten for a preworkout.

Next comp I already know I will be eating rice and eggs…maybe some white fish mixed in too. Everything is fast digesting and wont leave me blah feeling.

I feel like I overshot my Squat/Bench weights because I should be getting more reps but my working weights are all still below 70% like WTF!!! I dont know if it was years of heavy lifting and maybe some genetics made for singles but my rep capacities are pretty bad in relation to my 1RM.
