The Gravity Wars!

It’s not limited to the NFL. It started with the Black Lives Matter group. The players began supporting that but BLM is the group that does not protest peacefully. BLM “leaders” have encouraged people to attack and kill police.

Now we have ANTIFA and I don’t know who the hell they are. They’re mostly white people who have lost their damn minds.

Add everything together over the past 10 years and we’ve reached an “us vs them” mentality. It seems that you’re either a white racist or you’re a liberal.

The NFL protests strike a cord because the flag is sacred to most of us. The other thing that irritates me is that sports used to be a way to immerse yourself in another world and forget about reality for a few hours. Now when you watch sports you get politics shoved down your throat the whole game whether it’s the national anthem, a celebration, or the commentators. I think that’s the worst part. I miss my sports before all this started.

I believe dialog does help fix the issues. Moving on seems to ignore the issues. I think “accepting that shit in the world is messed up” implies giving up and not trying to fix the issues. Probably not your intent, but how it sounds to me.

I believe @Frank_C has a siege mentality because he is a law enforcement officer. I think he is defensive because of the few bad apples that are tarnishing the image of the police, and that image is tarnished.

I think @BOTSLAYER has a unique perspective as an expat, and probably feels a bit defensive because it’s his thread and that’s not being respected.

I recommend we get back to talking about potato blasts and pump wifey time :wink:

This is exactly what it feels like it’s occurring. When I walk into a scene it’s pretty common for black people to say “do what he says or he’ll kill you” or they’ll be overly compliant on a traffic stop while constantly saying “I don’t want to get shot”.

Prejudice works both ways but no one wants to acknowledge that. The black community is becoming more and more prejudice towards police and white people. You think that leads to good things?

My opinions are based off my first hand experience. I don’t trust the media to give an unbiased story.

I believe the problem goes deeper than race but that’s all anyone wants to focus on. Our country has fundamental problems. Christian values are shunned but the me first mentality is glamorized. Take what you want. Take it now.

The Golden Rule is long gone.

As a cop I see what’s going on and it’s about race and crime. What about addressing the cause? Why is crime so high? Again, first hand experience speaking here. I see violent people come from broken homes. Single parents or no parents. Kids are an inconvenience because their parents are selfish and don’t want to give them the attention they deserve.

Those kids leave home as juveniles and roam the streets. They learn to take what they want instead of working for it. They turn into violent people (gang members). And then they have lots of police contacts. You can see how it progresses.

I’d like to see more of these powerful people advocating strong families and communities.

There’s no winning here…and that’s why I veered my last post towards the real problems in America. There are lots of problems but if everyone went back to treating others the way they wanted to be treated then we’d have a beautiful country.

That includes person to person, black to white, man to woman, cop to suspect and so on.

And that’s what I do every day. I’ll treat horrible people with respect because it’s the right thing to do. Everyone wants that and it can prevent fights. I’ve been in this line of work for 7 years and my only use of force has been restraining people who were already cuffed and started kicking or fighting.

I take it personally when people want to lump all police into one basket. Saying that we’re corrupt or violent or racist is not accurate—just like it’s not accurate for me to say all young black men are violent criminals.

Woke Up 96.6kg and pretty sure the direct ab work has added about a cm to my waist, oh well whatever it takes. But then I did also have an Xtend yesterday…we will see what happens over the coming days.

LOL I aw your 5x5@295 and I am don’t think I can do that.

AM 97.1kg 94ish cm waist. Yea, looking at definition, vascularity etc my waist should be smaller. We will see what happens over the next couple days.

DIET: Today and Tomorrow ~600g chicken breast, 500g frozen veggies, 1kg Potatoes, 100g oats 2 eggs and a bunch of egg whites. Probably a protein shake. ~2400 calories and I am about done with my food for the day at 1pm and I am starving. Not sure how this is going to go down.

Sunday Evaluate but most likely a veggie blast so as much of the junk I eat on Monday goes to glycogen rather than fat.

Lot of fun today. Work has been crushing last week or so after being stagnate so far. I also managed to catch up on ALL of my paper work. It’s amazing how if you just do it that it gets done, so weird. Physique is looking tight but I am hungry AF obviously. I am super pumped for Bench tomorrow.

And lastly I can not fucking wait for Monday. Gonna ball out so hard poolside and by ball out I mean buffet coma hahahaha

AM 95.6kg and 93cm waist. These new muscles made me underestimate my BF%. I had so much new definition and veins I thought I was around 11-12% but my waist now coming in means I am probably just getting to 12ish%.

LOL my friend (the maybe 55kg spotter) goaded me into going for a double on my second set. Obviously I do what I want but I probably should have trusted my angel shoulder side instead of her devil side. She had to pull it off my chest, so the jokes on her hahahaha

1st set, my forearm angle was off messing with my lockout. I fixed that for the 2nd set and that 1st rep of the 2nd set felt much stronger.

No lie I have been thinking about this set all week and in my head while psyching myself up (all week) I had 3 but would have been happy with 2. Considering the cut and shitty forearm angle I am really happy with this as long as I can fix the form.

Monday AM I was 95.2kg and I would like to get back close to that and ride that weight for the rest of this prep.

Currently I am thirsty and hungry but I also feel too full to want to drink or eat anything. So I went to the gym. I dont know how people go to the gym less than 7 times a week hahahaha

My offseason goals include OHP so I minds well start now, it will help with my focus to have a little more variety if that makes sense.

PREP

Scripted 5-3-1 for OHP. Bench offseason went so well I am keeping it’s prep as it was. Thanks to Squat Deadlift suffered a bit but that is the prep I am going with.

And then there is Squat. I am going very specific to kind of play catch up and also minimize reps which should keep me a bit healthier and leave some energy for Deadlift. I will drop the Burner set if needed.

4.5 weeks of singles will be taxing but I can take an easy day as needed where I just do triples to 85% then back downs calculated off of 85%.

If OHP starts to wear on my delts I will drop it. The OHPing stops 3 weeks out and a week before testing anyways so it should be fine.

Peak Weeks: Last warmup is ~87%, opener with ~92% and 2nd attempt is ~97% which is why I chose those numbers.

So with that, I am locked in again. Time to enjoy this work!!

Made Up Words KEY:

TS = Top Set or Best Set competed with desired rep range, all percentages will be off of this number
3x3 = (there uses an asterisk) 3 Sets of 3 Reps
Max@ = AMRAP or Max Reps at a certain weight
And 1s = Singles done slowly adding weight (with the intention of getting volume as high of percentage as possible and still testing my 1RM to some extent)
+20s or +10s = Adding 20 lbs or 10 lbs each set
1s to 85% = Singles to 85% of my best set (deload)
TEST= 1RM test, I take the training wheels off and see where I stand for the comp (but hold a little back). My 2nd attempt should be just under this number.

BENCH TABLE:

Basically it begins with finding a 5RM, to 3RMs to Singles, a deload and then Test of 1RM to find numbers for Peak Weeks.

Backdown work is of the days Top Sets. It looks lazy doing everything at 90% of top set but it was actually carefully chosen to line up with the low end of Prilepin’s chart (to account for fatigue and my general lack of rep capacity).

Workout #1 / 5s to RPE 8 / 275+10s / 3x5@90%
5 Rep Sets to RPE 8 (I consider form failure RPE 8). 1st working set is 275 and each set after that will be 10 lbs more until I fail to get 5 reps on a set. The back down is 3 sets of 5 Reps at 90% of Top Set (It is right around 75% of 1RM).

Workout #2
3s to RPE 8. The 1st Working set is what ever my 5s best set was.

Workout #3
1st working set is 92% of Top Set.

OHP Chart is 5-3-1 for 2 blocks. The “Hypo 5+” is what the hypothetical 1RM is if the 5+ number was 75% of my 1RM. So on and so forth for the 3+ and 1+ days.

Those unfamiliar with 5-3-1 your top sets are at 75% for 5+, 80% for 3+ and 85% for 1+. So the numbers shown are just those numbers divided by those percentages to work backwards.

UNLABELED CHART ENDING WITH GO TIME on Saturday 12-9. (That is Peak Weeks)

Numbers to far left are days out, the Date, then work.

Squat Bench and Deadlift are all moved to the same day. Then a Row day then a day to do just mobility and core work.

Stab(ility) Squats are Light Pause Squats to keep the wheels moving right.

For Squat and Bench it is 4 Workouts.

Finished Squat Singles to lay down for a quick break before starting Pause 3x3 and as I was getting off the floor something popped in my back/butt. I skipped Pause Squats and Deads didnt feel the worst but I cut that workout short too. I actually think it will be fine tomorrow and I am sure jumping from 60% to 85% from workout to workout had nothing to do with this.

Not a great start to prep…not as bad as the offseason though…yet ugh hahaha.

I do think I figured out my Front Rack though, I just wasnt staying upright enough.

Kind of took a break from social media in general. Just sick of people and their hypocrisy and self entitlement. That shit enrages me to no end. The time has been well spent mostly with my wife and less well spent not getting behind with paperwork.

And on to the Lifting and Stuff

Weight/Physique/Diet Weight has been coming down but fluctuating. Physique is looking really good. I am only eating carbs pre workout and that seems to be working really well. The rest of the day it is veggies and chicken and a snack of peanuts and usually a diet soda to stay sane.

TRAINING Going well. I almost made it through a Squat session with out tweaking anything. The plus side is I hurt my ass getting off the floor and not while actually Squatting. I was getting off the floor and something gave a couple pops. I trained through it a bit and I think that helped. It was fine the next day.

In the morning I have been walking Sofi to work every day for a bit of us time combined with AM mobility/cardio work. Not getting up and immediately sitting in a chair all day has done wonders for everything.

OK on to the enjoy the Bread and Circus!!!

Weekly Check In

Physique is right where I want it to be (lower abs sharp if flexed and post delts showing striations so I am pretty sure I am right around 11-13%), weight is usually under 96kg so pretty easy water cut to get to 93kg.

Squat Strength is worse than I would like buuut I think it is on the up and up. I have started to prioritize recovery and specificity. My knee is my knee but with the decrease in Volume this should get better.

Just found out today they moved the Comp back a week. So I am about 50% going or not. I really wanted a week to enjoy PDC before moving to Torreon and this takes that week.

Truthfully this is great for my prep though, An extra week would have been huge the way things are just now seeming to turn the corner. So the plan is to stay the course for the next 2 weeks to what I am calling “The Cut Off For Glory”. By then I will know if I have truly turned the corner. If I have I will go hard for the Mexican All Time Total and a 500 Wilks. If not I am going into the offseason.

They got 2 things wrong (ish)…

Unless your hands are toddler sized you can hook grip, seriously. 12 year olds use hook.

And it will change your deadlifting life.

On a related note Mr. Ignore my hook comments has a strained thumb 2 weeks out.
