The Flame-Free Confession Thread II

People in Omaha complain about their 30 minute commute…

Having lived for 13 years in New Jersey as an adult has me just laughing at them.

I didn’t have anxiety but my mind was sometimes so jumbled that I suffered from insomnia this past summer. Many times I woke to at 3:00 to 4:30 AM and couldn’t fall back to sleep when I was due to wake up at 6:00. One week this occurred for three days and for one of those days I woke up at 2:30 and called in sick to work because driving home was becoming unsafe because I had to fight off my sleepiness in the car!

I also be like my lunch break walks on a street through the woods here and not get asked for money, walk near people shouting into thin air or mumbling to themselves, walking into 35 to 40 mph traffic and wreckless driving) I’ve several times seen people hit by cars, and see trash all over the place, insulin needles on the street, and sit in a park to eat my lunch and catch some rays, only to sit next to people that are clearly high on drugs or drunk.

I did like the place where I worked though and I had a manager I was sad to leave. If it were not for the commute I wouldn’t have minded staying there.

It was 90 to120 minutes each way. If it was four hours each way I think I would resign.

I think tri-state living can damn near kill someone!

It’s like that Gweneth Paltrow crap. Some people like to take “being there for yourself so that you can be there for others” to unintended levels.

A friend of mine says (jokingly) “I’m not much, but I’m all I think about!”.

Insulin… that’s sweet that you call them that

This statement is actually repeated by two popular fitness authors with whom your familiar on their blogs and IG accounts.

Maybe I’m a little thick headed but I don’t know how complex taking care of oneself can be. I mean, you go to work, don’t overeat, exercise a few times per week, maintain hygiene. What the heck else is there?!

I know of people, some of my own family members, who didn’t tend to their health or fitness much or at all and managed to provide quite a bit for others.

I was introduced to the idea through 12 step recovery programs, but those concepts seem to catch on in other areas every so often.

Practically speaking, it was to get people into the mode of maintaining continuous sobriety, e.g. Go to a meeting a couple of times a week, keep in touch with your sponsor, etc. Then people that tend to luxuriate turn it into going on retreats and all of the fruity stuff.

One of those I speak of is now holding retreats. I don’t think this is bad per se, but you keep touching upon what these people do without me naming them. I think you see my points.

I would quit whatever I was doing to get out of that situation. Nothing is worth that.

My new home and family are. :grinning:

What I meant was I would find another job so I could spend more time on the important things in life vs 20 hours a week sitting in the car.

Oh. That’s what I did.

It’s out of habit from asking for them at the pharmacy or telling my wife to pick them up for me when doing errands. I use them for TRT and HCG. The long needles usually prescribed for Them are uncomfortable and hold more air.

I drive 4 hours to an office every week, spend two nights, and drive 4 hours back. Sometimes, you have to do things you don’t want for a short period to get what you want.

I have concluded when guys whom are wanting advice or opinions on things whom do not want to answer relevant questions , do so because they do not truly want advice or opinions . Because answering questions puts at risk of having their preconceived notions crushed regarding their own training or expose their lack of knowledge.

I used my elbow Tendonitis as an excuse to buy and install these rings this morning.

So after installing them and doing a set of ring pull ups and then dips I came to two conclusions. First I’m fat and far too much person for my height. Second, I love them.
