I intermittent fast.

Flame free bitches.

But, I do it because diabetes runs in my family and even though I am a lean 181 at 6’1", my blood sugar tends to run a bit high. IF gives my system (pancreas) a few hours off so my insulin sensitivity is better. I used to run about 110 on fasting glucose, and currently roll around 85.

But, I totally can not get jacked or swole doing it.

Period.

I still don’t know what intermittent fasting means. I don’t think I want to know.

skipping breakfast on purpose.

I have seen this pattern with my own eyes. These people are prospering. However I also can’t help to think of the “brain drain” that occurs with such cosmopolitan migration.

I just turned 34 and I have a single white chest hair. Well, that I know of. There may be more.

As always, you turn the turn of a phrase on its head.

But, it actually runs in my family.

Oh, then it works really well. I took a near decade long break from training, had coffee and cigarettes for breakfast everyday and weighed 135lbs.

If it’s any consolation, alcoholism stumbles through my family.

In the words of my twelve year old son, it means that you fast…intermittently. That’s why it’s called intermittent fasting.

It’s like South America, it’s America, but south.

I assumed there was a special new protocol behind it which could possibly make it differ from it’s literal meaning. Fads normally don’t catch on in this industry unless they are needlessly complicated or give people who don’t want to put in the effort an excuse to take the easy way out.

Well then, you’re in luck. There is selective macro fasting, time intervals, and ratios. Just between those the possibilities for confusion and guruism are endless.

I never got why the 16/8 version was called IF. I mean, you are literally doing it every day it is the opposite of intermittent, if anything its CF: Consistant Fasting.

To me, the every-now-and-then-full-day-fast is IF. Shit, literally EVERYONE fasts for 8-10 hours while they sleep, that isnt “intermittent sleep”
