You only study 3 hours a day?!
That’s the baseline. I’ll do as much as 4-5, but rarely below 3 hours. I could wake up earlier and study more, but I doubt I’d be productive because with less sleep I can feel the difference in focus.
I’m still in the beginning of this, so I might have do adjust and up the dose.
Weren’t you going to send me some code? Or maybe you did and I missed it ![]()
You’re totally right. I just forgot because I needed to translate all the variable and function names and with all the calculus I did I forgot to even open my c editor these last weeks haha.
I’ll have some spare time later and I’ll do the changes needed, then I’ll send them to you. I got 4/4 with those programs btw. I’m sure I still made mistakes, but I’ll let you judge
It’s been a while since I wrote C so, time will tell.
What is it you want to do after uni? Do you want to work with programming? Too early to tell?
Anyway, I found out that this next semester will be made up of three courses:
- algorithms
- linear algebra
- physics
That all sounds like interesting topics so I’m looking forward to it.
I definitely want to work with programming.
I have been into web development since I was 12, and that’s a field I would like to work it.
Anything that has me coding or working with software engineering will get me hyped up, so I guess that’s my dream job.
Applied or theoretical? As in, will you be programming mostly or doing mathematics mainly?
I don’t know yet, but the pre-requisites for the course list C, so we’ll likely be developing programs too.
Yeah, maybe.
When you did web, did you write PHP/Ruby/RoR/Python/JavaScript/… or something akin to those languages or did you “just” do HTML/CSS? If yes to the latter, I recommend picking up another programming language as soon as you feel that it won’t impede your C-coursework.
I have used php, mysql, and lots of js (and jquery) in what used to be my quest to creating the best Italian Pokémon website
(that’s like 6 years ago haha)
It’s still somewhere around archive.org, the domain was pokemonglobal.it if you wanna try and see if you can find it.
But yeah, I have experience with php and Javascript. I know a little about ruby and python as well. I remember that when I was 14 I read Eloquent Javascript twice. If I can find the time to, I would love to reread it. My English skills at the time weren’t comparable to know so I didn’t get the most out of it.
But that’s also part of how I was able to learn English to begin with, so yeah.
I highly recommend picking up JS again, and/or learning Python.
Will do (both).
I can pick up many languages simultaneously, but I know tons of them, so I’d be inclined to suggest that you learn one “extra” at a time while you have your school work at most to not muddle things too much.
Oh oh, ask me how long I have to study!!
Agreed, I didn’t mean to say that I was going to pick them both up at the same time haha
There you go rubbing salt in the wound of his logic score by employing the false equivalence fallacy on him.
Make sure you read the course description carefully, as I once intended to pick up Python and ended up in a class on Pentecostalism.
But I DID end up satisfying 12 language credits at once by speaking in tongues.
Might be an in-joke I’m missing, but “only”?!
That sounds like an insane amount to do unless you’re specifically studying for end-of-year exams.
