Thanks to my jacked up shoulder my new training split is deadlifts every day and cardio.
Don’t knock it. 20 minute intervals on the bike and elliptical 3-4 times a week has resulted in my lowest resting heart rates and is way easier than running.

Reading old threads and viewing profiles seeing how many hours people spend here makes me wonder how many knew that day they would log out forever, or passed away.
weird thoughts entering the new year.
I like your more realistic approach. This year I have put a hard stop on all chips, chocolate, biscuits, cake etc starting yesterday. Wife cleaned out the chip cupboard today (see my log for pics). I am going to keep carbs in my diet this year but cut out the crap and add a little conditioning.
There is a very distinct possibility that the people on this forum would find out if something happened to me before any of my friends- most of them don’t even know my birthday’s in May, or that I had surgery ![]()
Well I don’t know you, but I know your birthday is in may and you have had surgery… LOL.
My parents didn’t know I lifted until last year- they assumed I went to the gym to do cardio and a pushup or two
Interesting, well given your stature wouldn’t assume you lifted either but I think in terms of wilks you might be higher than me with lower weights LOL.
Well…relative strength is overrated IMO
I tend to agree but being a stronger than average guy but weak for my size its frustrating.
I just creeped your blog, the twinkie thing made me laugh out loud and I may try your protein bars.
Happy new year.
Even at my size, my bench and squat are still pretty weak (barely above 2x bodyweight squat and less than 1.5 bodyweight bench)
Thanks! I’m always secretly wishing people other than my parents will read it ![]()
Same!
well that’s embarrassing as I just did the calculations and I have 1.3xbw bench 1.7xbw squat and 2.1xbw deadlift.
2020 dropping BW weight while increasing lifting weight at the same time hopefully.
My wife loves to watch the ball drop in Times Square. The live stream, every year. I dunno why, I can’t stand it, but I just cook food, drink beer and make commentary from the kitchen most years. So this year, some band “X Ambassadors” are playing, i had heard a couple of their songs before, not a big fan, not an amazing performance, and strange red outfits, but what was weirdest was the damn keyboard player. Thrashing around to pop tunes like a grunge band, just way too exaggerated with his movements, and very awkward. From the kitchen, I yell “what does this guy think, he’s Stevie Wonder?” And my wife is like “yeah, he’s totally ruining this”. So I google “x ambassadors keyboard player” to see if the twitter searches on google that normally pop up appear with buzz about how weird this guy is. All I see when I hit search is “I love that X ambassadors have a blind keyboard player!”
Currently feeling like a dick…
Are you sure that’s realistic? Maybe cut out the chips and biscuits but leave in the chocolate and cake…
Keeping carbs in is something I’ve always done but playing with the idea of replacing all grains with fruits and veggies in April, kinda depends on where I’m at as I usually like the approach of out working a bad diet rather than making reasonable dietary changes.
American observations tell me that you’re delusional. Sorry, bro.
Edit to add: quality carbs are a good idea. Cut the processed crap.
Totally, I just say I won’t have them and I don’t have them. Notice I didn’t say I was stopping ice cream or the odd desert. I’m not completely stupid !!
I fully intend to go until September without any chocolate or booze. I don’t imagine this will be a problem. I reckon I might make it until Wednesday without any bread as well.
It’s possible to take in too much fructose, so depending on how much grains are in your diet and which fruits you opt for this could be an idea worth reformulating somewhat.
When you say chocolate do you mean chocolate bars (candy) or dark chocolate? Because the latter is great dietarily.
I mean all. After the initial cravings, it’s a pretty easy thing for me to give up so I will.
Yeah I prefer warehouse type gyms… since I find they tend to attract a different type of individual compared to the commercial ones.
