Fiction or non fiction?
- Flowers for Algernon
- The Complete Robot
- Where Do Good Ideas Come From?
Either or, I do have audible which is cool and I listen to podcasts but I haven’t really read a book in a while. I am open to suggestions. Worst scenario is I get a book I’m not that into.
I started reading philosophy because it was something I wanted to do more of during my undergrad but just didn’t find the time to do so. Might be a good branching path to figure out what you’d be interested in reading about and then find what are some good sources from there.
Going from that corner of the world, I gotta pitch Schopenhauer for someone interested in picking up some existential philosophy. He writes in an aphorism style, so you don’t have to commit yourself to a few hours in a quiet room to be able to take it all in, and I find he’s pretty “to the point” compared to many other authors.
Free refunds on audible if you don’t like the book, so worst case scenario is a few hours wasted.
Cane and Abel by jeffry archer
The Long Ships by Frans G. Bengtsson. Not a philosophy book, but possibly the best adventure novel I’ve ever read. Almost on par with The Princess Bride, which is another book I’d recommend.
Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro
Zero K - Don Dellilo
Point Omega - Don Delillo (nice and short, but with great substance)
Lore - either the podcast or books by Aaron Mehnke
Old Man and the Sea - Hemingway
Grapes of Wrath - Steinbeck
Anything by Rudyard Kipling
Cannery Row - Steinbeck
I’ve read 2 possibly 3 of these and none of the other suggestions. Thanks all for the new reading list.
So my husbands main reason for now incorporating hip thrusts into his Exercise activities is because it mostly reminds him of sex movements.
I meeeaaaann…at least he’s incorporating a pretty effective exercise right? Lol
This is why I bought a wrist roller
Why I bought a shakeweight
Tell him about Good Mornings and see what he says…
Ha! I actually have one. In fact I have an entire collection of “as seen on TV” exercise equipment people have given me. It’s kinda of a thing now. The only thing missing is a thigh master.
Bear crawls if you want to be really sport-specific
Ha! well I don’t actually have one, I’m just very rarely funny so when I see what looks like an opportunity I can’t help myself.
You did a good job!
I use mine every leg day. I superset them with cable pull-throughs.
You say that in jest, but as someone with weak abductors and glutes, I’ve actually done that exact superset before (with an abductor machine instead of a thighmaster) ![]()
Pullthroughs actually seemed to help my deadlift- I’ve just been too lazy to do them
