…as painful as that dropset is, all I can notice is that you’re like half the size that you are now…

I looked at the intermediate program. Week 5-6 you’re supposed to do 8 sets of 12 at 80% of your 1RM. What’s the trick? Breathing squats kind of set? This seems really dangerous on powercleans, you’re bound to have a sloppy form
The trick is it’s a typo and it’s supposed to be 10rm like the rest of the program.
Also, 8x12 would not work for that week: you’d be 4 reps short.
Because I don’t advocate anyone do what I do. Folks gotta find what works for them.

Hmmmmmmm I might be tempted to dive in! I looked at the standards. They are high! I’m on the Shallow end for squat and press, Beyond the break on cleans and I might be Deep water on DL. Nice goals to set!
Yeah, I liked that part of the book. Gave some perspective. I edited my comment, but make sure you’re actually getting the full 100 reps that week.
And give the workouts a look the week before, because there’s a few other instances where something screwy happens like that. I think the intermediate had it that week 4 was deadlifts and then week 5 was deadlifts, or something like that.
