Same. My wife is around five foot four and our legs are the same length.
It sounds like we have similar leverages. I should stop by your log and see if you have any squat videos there
It allows a more.uproght position, doesn’t force it.
Yep this is me too, I have the torso of someone 6’2, the legs of someone 5’6 ha.
I keep toying with the idea of switching to weightlifting, looks a lot of fun. Very tempting but I simply don’t know where to start
Hey! I resemble that remark!
That’s where I’m at too, seems like some pretty complex movements and I don’t want to create bad habits. Have found a few progressions on YT so may throw the simpler ones in at some point.
Also, based on how awful I am at keg toss, my triple extension is non existant. May have the right build but my operating system needs an update.
I know some people that are self-taught. They are meticulous about recording themselves and analysing their form and comparing it to a lifter with similar leverages. When they train together they coach each other as best as they can.
Is there a crossfit box or a Olympic weightlifting club around your parts? I think you can go to a workshop or two and get the most important bits down. No bad habits adopted.
I decided to give the brunch buffet a try today as a post workout treat and had at least 2000cal worth of bacon eggs and meatloaf-0 regrets
You have to shock the metabolism occasionally.
That’s why my plan is to eat garbage until I’m on my deathbed, and then suddenly eat a salad. Shock to metabolism and squeeze out at LEAST a few more years.
I found a great fitness podcast. They have legit scientists and PhD holders on.
I confess I’ve been using it to fall asleep at night and I have no idea what they are talking about.
Should have put a /sarcasm on my post.
Considering I just finished my 5th Big Mac before finding out you were joking, yeah, I’d say you should have you cad!
I guess I’m screwed then
good thing I can technically afford a bit of fat
We are made from the same mold . My torso is way longer then my legs. On a good note the short femur allows me to squat with a more upright torso be it high or low bar placement. Like one knowledgeable guy told me I was designed more for squatting like a piston and not a Accordion.
I confess that I cannot figure out why the best coach of the squat, deadlift and bench has not produced any highly successful powerlifters.
Or why powerlifters don’t seek out the training from the best coach on the powerlifts.
Could you guys imagine what sort of records we’d start seeing if these guys would just wise up and go seek out the aid of the best coach out there today on the squat, bench and deadlift?
Think it happened?
His personal best bench is 440 in powerlifting, which he obviously wasn’t in single digits for, it’d be impressive if he close gripped 15 lbs more than his best meet bench at single digit BF. Dunno if it happened. I can’t say it didn’t. 440 is a strong ass bench anyway, I can’t even sniff that, so I got nothing.
