Look up info on Dr Ken Leistner. The whole “what’s strong “ is literally ripped from him, so are many other things 50% sets etc.
Just goes to show you, that nothing is new.
all this “cutting for the holidays” stuff is getting to my head
Even reliable sources are suggesting calorie or carb restriction the week/days before or after a holiday vacation. Of course, the advice is for people looking for loosing fat, but it’s sooooo hard to ignore!
Should I ignore it though???
People need to make money somehow… some just chose to do it in stupid, deceptive ways
You’re hyper intelligent and a pleasure to converse with, so I’d like to see you stick around. You’re already aware that you have dangerously low levels of body fat. If you don’t ignore these messages which are clearly not meant for you, there could be drastic consequences.
Thank you! This is why I love this site so much
I question this ![]()
If you do, it’s the only dumb thing about you. By the way, I have dealt with an image disorder for most of my life from extreme bullying as a child, so I can empathize with some of your thought processes, though as a man I couldn’t begin to understand the societal pressures you deal with to look a certain way. But you are smart, kind, and - I mean this in the most platonic way possible, as a married man talking to a college girl - you are beautiful, and should you ever find yourself forgoing a necessity to make yourself more beautiful, you can bet that you’re making a mistake.
I can’t imagine what that was like. From what I’ve seem of you on the forum, you seem to have overcome it and more. Seriously inspiring.

I still ended up an opinionated loudmouth, so don’t let your jaw hit the ground. I’m not a success story or anything, just letting you know I’m not commenting on your situation from a position of perceived superiority.
Ignore it!
As others have said, you certainly do not née to lose any bodyfat but secondly it strikes me as bad advice to diet down before a period where a lot of individuals will be in a caloric surplus. Like, yeah, don’t go into that period with screwed up ghrelin/leptin levels and fat cells that have upregulated the receptors that make it easier for them to store fat.
The articles should be called ‘yo-yo “dieting” 101’
Better advice for most people would be, hey if you have some days off during Christmas and are eating like there’s no mirrors tomorrow then take the time too sleep properly, and exercise plenty.
But you specifically do not need to increase your physical activity.
I didn’t think you were, however, you’re older and wiser so you technically had the right to
To get this thread back on track-
Confession: I stayed up past 10 for the first time in a year
That is a dream of mine. Bed before 10, for an extended period of time.
I spend the whole day feeling like a zombie, so tired I could kill for a nap. Come bed time I’m wide awake, up to 40mg of melatonin now.
Thats why you feel like a zombie, 10 mg does that to me. I’d consider lowering that and prioritizing sleep until your on a better schedule.
It has nothing to do with the melatonin. I’ve felt this way for years. Way before any sleep aids. I don’t take them every night either. Only when I can tell I’m about to lay in bed for 3 hours.
I found the best sleep aid was having kids
Supercompensation effect?
I have 2. Hasn’t changed anything lol. I also have a physically demanding job so it’s not like I’m riding a desk all day and wondering why I can’t sleep.
Have you tried reading in bed? On a book, not a screen.
Pretty sure you should start with sleep hiv before progressing to full blown sleep aids.
