The Flame-Free Confession Thread II

Don’t be so hard on him, he’s just like Rocky in Rocky 3. He just needs some dude-hugs in the ocean to get him going.

I’m not really a dude hug type of guy.

I’m not really either, but I’d dude hug Carl Weathers any day, any place.

I shouldn’t care as much as I do about a coach on here talking about medial delts. Saying medial delts is the bro equivalent of “irregardless”. Going out of your way to use a term that sounds smart but is in fact wrong.

It gets me every time I read it… For real, I know it’s just a detail and the point still gets across even with the wrong word, but still.

You claim to know everything or just about when it comes to muscles, yet over 30 years of experience you haven’t realized you keep mentioning a nonexistent muscle?

Middle delts: the least medial of the three. It’s just me being a dick though. I let stupid stuff get to me.

Yeah they are literally the opposite of the definition of medial.

And yes, while I agree this isn’t important in the grand scheme of things, I still find it quite mind blowing. Like I don’t understand how someone in the business like him couldn’t come in contact with the notion that they aren’t called medial delts over that long of a span of time.

It’s not like I wanna get hung up on the minutia, I legit can’t explain it. What are the chances?

It occurred to me today while I was doing my 350 sets that the author kind of contradicted himself. There was an article on here that said it was three sets to failure with a minute rest between. The same weight is used and the goal is to hit 50 reps.

Later, in the forum, I see that he uses two minutes rest and doesn’t go to failure on the first set. It’s a prep set.

???

It’s your freaking method. How did it change?

To set the context better, he posted an example of his sets and he was hitting like 17-18 reps on the second set. Someone asked how he hit that many reps after going to failure on the first set. That’s when he revealed his secret.

Anybody have a good home remedy for taking the soreness out of a puncture wound/ dog bite on your leg? Asking for a friend :smirk:

Is it your dog…? Does the dog have an up to date rabies vaccine? How did you clean the wound? Do you have access to antibiotics? Where is the dog now? So many questions as a former vet tech and the husband of a vet tech of 15 years…

I thought you were just supposed to rub some dirt on it?

Not my dog. Yes, it has all current vaccinations. Cleaned with soap and water then antibiotic ointment. Dog is at home with owners.
No access to antibiotics.

I did rub salt on it. Does that count?

If you forgot a dash of lemon, then no, it doesn’t

Best you can do, I suppose. I’m assuming you know to check on it frequently for infection over the next week. I’m the last person to condemn a dog for an errant bite, but hopefully this dog isn’t a permanent danger to others. A puncture bite to an adult is one thing. A mutilated face on a child is another.

Two more things:
One, if the bite becomes numb, it’s not sweet relief, it’s infection.

Two, alcohol. Not on the wound, down the hatch. Helps with pain. If you’re looking for topical relief, lidocaine is available OTC. Best option.

Thank you! She is a rescue they have only had about six weeks. My first instinct when I met her, was that she was scared and aggressive. They said, “oh no, she is so sweet.” I knew better.
I went into the next room to dust the ceiling fan and she come up behind me and chomped my leg. The only reason I don’t have a chunk missing is my new high tops.

I just finished the first day of wrestling practice and everything is way too fucking sore: feet, knees, lower back. And I’m out of shape. Going to be a long season
