The Flame-Free Confession Thread II

So here’s another confession.

This is the loop I’ve been in for the past few months now.

“Deep Water Badass requires dumbbell benching. I only have powerblocks that go up to 50lbs and loadable DB handles. Benching with DB handles sucks. I should get some better powerblock dumbbells”

Go online shopping

“Hey, powerblocks/ironmasters aren’t that expensive for the base unit. And they make add-ons that go up to 165lbs. That should be enough for me.”

Do the cost calculation.

“Ok, now it’s looking like $1500-2000. I got an entire home gym off of Craigslist for $1000, and that was all Ironmind products. I can’t justify spending that much on dumbbells. Hell, I don’t even USE dumbbells in my training anyway.”

Quiet reflection

“But maybe the reason I don’t use dumbbells is because I don’t have good ones…”

Repeat cycle.

I bench and OHP with adjustable dumbbells and it does suck. Gotta be precise to not stab yourself. I think they make knee pad things as well as spotter stands for racks. I’ve contemplated buying a couple sets of heavy rubber coated and just using progression with reps for a while till I can spend ~$350 again on dumbbells

I’ve learned more American history from a 10 episodes of pawn starts than from all my 4 years of HS

Just buy 75’s

Then hundo’s

I already have a set of 105s though. And powerblocks up to 50. I don’t foresee this strategy being fruitful…

Guess ur screwed then…pun intended, unless ur dumbbell handles are oly style. And yes those aren’t pleasant.

I must respectfully disagree!

I confess that I’ve never had this experience.

Tape them together, problem solved.

Whenever someone talks about Vitamin D, I choose to interpret it as innuendo… it is almost always makes what they are saying better.

But don’t you know that almost everyone is deficient in vitamin D? Everyone could do with taking some more.

I personally take a lot of Vitamin D and find it really helps my recovery when my glutes are very tight.

Personally I attribute my strong immune system to a large daily dose of vitamin D, i swear by it and tell anyone who will listen.

I have no idea how to respond to that without being gross or offending someone :joy::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I try to convince mine of the provable health benefits, but she won’t take it with any regularity so I usually just give it to her without asking.

To be clear, I am literally talking about vitamin D in my posts, in the knowledge that this further illustrates @strongmangoals point for comedic effect.
